3rd iui tomorrow What size should egg(s) be at ovulation?

by Nia528, May 28, 2009 04:23PM
Hey Girls!!! I just wanted to let you know that I have my scan Friday at 11:15 to look at my eggs.  I was hoping they would get to see the egg(s) this time before I o but my opk was neg this morning with fmu but Re told me to do another this evening to see if it changed so I would know whether or not to bring my DH to the scan tomorrow. And sure enough the opk this evening is positive so Dh has to go so we can do 3rd iui if everything looks well.  I kinda hope I don't o before the scan so we can see the size of the egg(s) since the last two iuis I had already o'd at the time of the iui.  I was wondering around what size should the egg(s) be before oing?  The RE said this will be our last iui and if it doesn't work we are back to the drawing board so that is why I really want them to get a look at the eggs at the time of ovulation to see if there is a problem there. I will keep you posted on how the scan and iui goes.   Please send lots of baby dust and prayers our way!!! Thanks!!!

My RE said they want to see follicles in the upper teens before they'll do IUI, otherwise their just not big enough. Are you doing an hcg trigger?

Best of Luck! I hope this is your month!

Hey Sue,   The only meds I am on is femara on cd 3-7.  We are unexplained infertile and all our stuff works like it is supposed to and the RE cannot find a reason to not get preg. I don't know what the RE will try next if this one doesn't take. Thanks for your answer and best of luck to you to on a BFP!!!!  If I get the sizes tomorrow I'll put them on here!!

Good luck tomorrow!!! My RE says they look for 18mm+. The one time I got a BFP, though, my u/s scans didn't show anything larger than 5mm... So, anything can happen! I bet you won't O before your iui since you tested negative this morning & just got your positive. Usually you O 12-24 hours after your first +opk. Best wishes!!! :)

Well I had my scan at 11:15 this morning and guess what?? I had already o'd!!!  I had sharp pains at 11:00 this morning on the right side and RE said that I did o on the right so I didn't get to see the egg but my uterine lining was a 10 which was great and the sperm was great but RE is begining to think there is a problem with the sperm not being able to penetrate and fertilize the egg so this is our last shot before going to IVF and we can't afford IVF so this could be it for us.  Best of luck to everyone and lots of prayer and baby dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
