8 week ultrasound today

by babyprayers, Jan 21, 2008 03:09PM
we still have 2 heartbeats and we also heard them to day, one is 176 and the other 167, which I believe is good strong heartbeats. next monday is my last ultrasound, and I called my regular OB/GYN and I have an appt with them next tuesday. so I guess things are moving along nicely. I am still feeling queasy just about all the time. I go in spurts for what I want to eat. for the last 2 weeks it was pizza and toast,. now its spaghetti, ah well, hope all is well with everyone. and by the way, where the heck has tina1111 been, I have not seen her on here at all.

Congrats.  it's look like you might have 2 boys here.  I heard heart beat more than 140 is a boy.  not sure but might be.

i actually heard the opposite but now you've prompted me to look it up...i think anything over 150 is a girl

regardless those are very good heart rates and Congrats =)

here's what i found

Heartbeats

One belief that has been around for some time, and even had some acceptance in the medical community at one point, is that the fetal heartbeat differs for boys and girls. If you're having a girl, then the fetal heart rate will be above 140. A boy will have a heart rate below 140. However, that pesky science has reared its little head again to say that this is complete fiction. A baby's heart rate is not affected by its sex until it is born, when a girl's heart rate will increase considerably compared with boys during labor.

I am 19wks pregnant and found last week I am having a boy and his heartbeat in the beginning was always 160-180. I thought for sure it was a girl based on all that information, so in other words don't believe it!! Just be happy you have to healthy babies with great heartbeats!!!

Congrats!!!
