Baby aspirin

Does baby asprin work?  What is the whole purpose of it?  This the first I have heard of its usage with fertility meds.  Has it helped anyone?

My RE had me take it before & during IVF. From my understanding, it's supposed to prevent clotting & increase blood flow to your ovaries :) We did get a BFP & we're almost 19 weeks pregnant, but I can't say it was due only to the baby aspirin. I'm sure it helped! :)

I was told to take baby aspirin as well and for the same reason as mommyin10. I started before I had IUI done, but now I'm moving on to IVF. Regardless, they have me taking it to prevent clotting. Trust me, anything my DR has asked me to do has been questionable. Not that I don't trust them, it's simply that I want to know what's going into my body and the purpose. I call my nurse everytime I'm starting w/ something new so she can remind me of the purpose and side effects. I'm currently on baby aspirin, prenatal vitamins, daily supplement, Lupron 10 units and dexamethasone (this is a steroid to strengthen immune system which should in turn help embryo) .75mg. If all goes well, I start on Follistim 300 units, then + Menapur a few days later.

I know this was a mouthful, but hopefully it's been helpful :)

Thank you and it was very helpful.  At this point, I willing to try anything that has worked for others, and with the list of all the other fertility meds I have had to fork over cash for, a bottle of baby aspirin is not a problem.  Thanks again.

Question about baby asprin????? What if you are already sorta anemic.. My iron levels have been low since i was younger,, so i watch them closely when im feeling tired...Should i not use baby aspirin??

I have been a nurse for the last four years and being anemic should not be affected by taking a baby aspirin.  If anything having low platelets would be a contrindication for taking aspirin since it thins your blood.  A baby aspirin should have little to no affect on your iron levels.  If you are still worried, I would ask your doctor.  I just asked my RE if I should be taking one and he suggested to do so.  Good Luck.
