Bleeding during Gonal F injections

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated as I feel in the dark, overwelmed and extremely worried:
Started my IVF cycle on day 2 of my period. Been sniffing Suprefact 200mcg 4 times a day. I had a scan on day 15 (6th Aug) and have down-regulated but they found a cyst. I had the cyst aspirated on 7th Aug and told to start injecting Gonal F 300IU per day immediately, whilst still sniffing 100mcg suprefact 4 times a day. However, yesterday (8th Aug - day 17) I started getting a large amount of vaginal bleeding and very severe cramping. I called my IVF center and they said it was probably a period and not to be concerned.
I'm really concerned - how can I have a period at the same time I'm injecting the Gonal F asking my body to produce follicles? Isn't that incompatible timing? Also, I thought down-regulation means your lining of your endometrium is thin - so how can I have a heavy period... where is the blood coming from?

I started injections Sept, 17th after 14 days of nasal spray seprucure x 4 daily. That evening I started bleeding too, then told my doctor that I was cleaning out, but I had the same concern, how am i suppose to be producing eggs when i am bleeding and taking the nasal spray? Cannot seem to find a straight answer.
