CB Fertility Monitor -No Low or Peak- only High reading?

by ZG100, Jun 08, 2009 01:56PM
I'm hoping someone has had this experience.

This is my third month using the CB fertility Monitor.
Last month I got a few lows, some highs and 2 peaks, then back to high.

I had my period, started a new cycle.

Since Day 6 all I've gotten are "high" readings, never a low this month and no peak either.
I tested multiple times to see if I am pregnant and nope.

Why would this happen?
I've been all over the internet looking and haven't found a thing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

hi, are you on any meds?? i'm on clomid and i get a high reading everyday, i was told not to start testing until cd12, so the clomid can clear out.  If your not on meds i'm not sure what to tell you. good luck hope your get your answer.

Hi,

Thank You for your response.

No I don't take any meds til the end of my cycle. Then I take progesterone for luteal phase defect (too short a luteal phase). It just seems so weird that everyday is "high", not even low at the start. First I thought maybe I was pregnant- but no luck there. (even though I keep testing to be sure). I read one lady thought her monitor was broken because it continually said High. Turns out she was pregnant.

maybe it was from the progesterone, i take 200mg prometrium for ten days to have af, i take it around cd30, i'm noot sure how long progesterone stays in your system but at least we have one drug in commom. good luck

Hi did you find out why? i had the same issue this month with my clearblue monitor it showed high everyday and i am on day 26 ..i had a bloodtest today and i am not pregnant and apparently did not even ovulate this month. my progesterone is low at 2 i am wondering if that had anything to do with it. let me know if you find out and  good luck!

No, I didnt figure it out unfortunately. I am on CD15 and have had 9 days of high readings- no peak.
I'm not even sure I'm going to O this month. My temps have been strange- higher than normal, but not showing O. Wouldn't our monitors go back to "low" if nothing happened and we didnt O? It's all very confusing. I took numerous hpts and they are all negative.

Here's a thought...

Defective lot of sticks?
Anyone still have the box? Could you share the lot or batch #, or whatever its called.

by ZG100, Jun 11, 2009 07:43PM
FT0370C - that's the lot # on my box.

by jissam, Jun 11, 2009 08:45PM
i used sticks from same box as previous cycle it cant of been that for me..i have no idea what caused it but i am late for my af for the first time ever and so i can only assume it was due to low progesterone and not ovulating..

Hey Girls,

Another "high" today. Well Poo!

I even got some old sticks from another lot, used them and they looked exactly the same.

So I dont know- maybe I'm just not going to O this month.

When I used the CB monitor there was 1 month I had HIGH (no PEAK) days. It was the same month I started seeing my RE. The very first visit - after 3 days of HIGH - I told him I usually get a PEAK after 3 or 4 days so I must be ovulating the next day. He did the u/s and told me that he did not care what the monitor said, I had already O'd. I checked online and found that it is possible for the monitor to miss the LH surge. The monitor will not show PEAK until the level increases from the HIGH. But if you miss the surge, the level won't increase, and it may keep indicate HIGH until the end of the cycle.

The only other month I had issues is when I started clomid. I guess I had a higher level of estrogen in my system and I got HIGH days from the day after I started taking Clomid. I got a trigger shot so I got a PEAK right after that. I stopped using the monitor at that point since the RE was monitoring me anyway.

Good luck! SSBD!

Thanks Docsaf,

I think I may have missed the peak too. A couple of days the lines were the same color on the stick and I think that's peak. I cheated and POAS without the monitor later the same day and it was darker still- the next day not so much. However my temp hasnt gone up like it should for ovulation so thats still a mystery.

Oh if only our bodies came with instruction manuals.

Still 'high' reading today. Wow this is getting old, not to mention wasting sticks.

End of the line- for those of you following my saga.
AF has arrived a week early - I guess that means I didnt O.
I got high readings my whole cycle.

Wheee fun! Almost three years TTC.

I am also using the CB fertility monitor for the first time this cycle.  For the first few days it read low and then has read high, I am on day 20 still no sign of ovulation per the machine although monitoring cm I think I ovulated around day 16.  I haven't started to monitor basal temps as I am not sure how to track that as I work night shift.  Do I check in the afternoons when I wake up  & in the mornings when I am off work?  Prior to the last couple of months I had an IUD, after removal periods have been longer and I actaully missed one ( first time ever), it seems like I was more regular when I was not TTC.  I am new at this and just begining to learn about my cycles etc.

AZ-

You check your temp when you wake up from at least 4 hours of sleep. Try to keep it about the same time if you can.
Get the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", it's a great resource. It can answer questions you don't even know you have. I got it from the local library- but it's worth purchasing.

You can also go to fertilityfriend.com, they will help you with your charting. There's a tutorial and the basic account is free.

Good Luck with your monitor. Supposedly the first month it's learning your cycle.
This is the start of my fourth month with it. Month one and three I didn't get a "peak".
Month two I got two peak days. So at least I know I do ovulate sometimes. I sure don't want to miss when I do. Do you use first morning urine for your monitor's pee stick?

Good Luck,
ZG

Hi, im having the same problem Im using the CB monitor for the first month and I have been on High fertility for over a week with no peaks..I can tell when I O cause I can feel it but monitor didn't detect anything..and suggestions

I also have a CB monitor.  I usually have several days with high until i get a peak reading.  Do you think you already o'd?  If so then next month I would buy the digital smiley face OPK's (which I believe are clear blue easy) as well.  If you test on both you can see if they match up for when you get your surge.  Good Luck!
