Clomid - starting dosage

by GiGiGiGi, Jun 09, 2009 01:38PM
Has anyone started Clomid by taking 100mg for CD 3-7??

It seems that everyone i have spoken with has started off at 50 mg.  My RE gave me a prescription for 100mg even though I have thin uterine lining. Anybody got any ideas what he was thinking?

I'm seriously considering getting a second opinion - but it will take going back on a waiting list for 6 months - not sure i'm willing to do that.

I was on clomid 150mg one time and my uterine lining was thin.... I think it's not hurt to go for second opinion.  My OB put me on Clomid more than 6 cycles before gave me different med - Femera...  Finally she referred me to Infertility Specialist and I went there for four cycles.  The last cycle I was scheduled for surgery (Laparoscopy) on 4/17 and some how I ovulated late and got pregnant...  I am 8 weeks pregnant right now...

Maybe you should bring up the laparoscopy to see what your doctor think... That's what I did and i got pregnant.

good luck to you and SSBD

Umm, Although the norm is 5mg, there maybe a reasoning to start at 100mg. I do think that you need an OB that is more available than 6 months from now.

babyblue - thanks for the advice about the Lap.  My RE has offered me 2 dates for that this summer and neither of them worked for me - one was a few days before we head for vegas, and the other was right on my O day.  I told him that i dont feel desperate (yet) and that I'm willing to give it a bit of time.  I dont think he likes my attitude - he probably doesnt see "non-desperate" people very often.  I will get the lap done in september, though because - who knows - maybe there is something wrong.
Congrats on your pregnancy!  Thats great news!  You got preg the cycle you got your lap?  wow!

Mareski - it really ***** that the waiting list for a consult is so long here.  once you get in to see the doc the wait isnt that long - but even waiting 6 months to get in to see a speciallist is a huge pain in the a**

Thanks for the input ladies.  Its too bad that I'm starting NOT to trust my doctor.
