Clomid does not nessesarily delay your period. Clomid effects your ovulation, and your period should be 14(+/-) days after you ovulate. For some women Clomid will move your ovulation up so that it is earlier in your cycle, and therefore move your period to being earlier. For me taking Clomid didnt change anything, my cycle stayed exactly the same, and for others it pushes everything back. Also, I am with you about the symptoms. My first month was cake, nothing at all. Beginning the second month I was miserable with sore breasts and terrible mood swings, it is different for everyone. Clomid can bring sucess very quickly, hopefully it is your month!
I have been taking clomid for the past 5 cycles and I never had a delay in my period. I also didn't get very sick but with every month was getting more and more hot flashes which is also a side effect. I haven't had any success with clomid now with 5 IUIs so hopefully it works for you.
hello. i'm on my first cycle of clomid right now (took Feb. 8-12) and went for my ultrasound the 16th for monitoring. my eggs had barely grown at all. i went for another ultrasound in 3 days and they grew in 3 days what they should've grown in a day. i just went back this morning for a 3rd u/s and they grew to almost ovulation size in 3 days. my RE told me that since i was already ovulating on my own sometimes clomid has the reverse effect and delays ovulation. she said clomid is one of those drugs that effects each individual very differently. for instance, my cycle is only 26 days so i should've ovulated early instead of later. i have a feeling my period will be delayed since i'm ovulating late. i just had massive headaches from the clomid and i think my DH would say i was a bit "touchy" too! this doesn't really answer your question but since RE said each person is effected quite differently i bet it's normal. if you are concerned call your doc and ask. best of luck.
