Clomid and NO side effects??

by sunflowersNC, Jul 15, 2007 06:39PM
Did anyone take Clomid (successfully - I mean you ovulated) but did NOT experience side effects?  I've read so much about these awful side effects and they say that's how you know it's working, but does that mean if I have no side effects, it might not be working?  Just curious about anyone else' experience...thanks!

I didn't have any s/e 1st round at 50mg. At 100mg 2nd round I mostly had hot flashes. It wasn't miserable, just off and on. I just started 3rd round at 100 and so far so good *knock on wood*

I am on my first month on clomid and taking 50 mg.  I have had significant hot flashes and uncomfortable cramping in both ovaries... i should O in a few days.  However, I have read of MANY women who never get symptoms and ovulate as well as get preggo.  Are you taking Clomid this month??

Yes I'm on CD 14 today - taking temps and no O yet.  THis is my first round 50 mg. (days 3-7)
I just wondered if there were no s/e maybe the dose isn't strong enough and therefor not working??  Or am I just being paranoid?
What day are you on?

Thanks for asking these questions. I am about to start my Clomid for first time next week. I have no clue what to expect so I will following your board! Question - did you do an IUI with the clomid or just timed intercourse?

I was on 50 mg last cycle, and I did not feel any side effects.  I thought it was not working, but when I had an ultrasound last week, they found a corpus luteum in my right ovary...that means I did ovulate.  My period came yesterday, though, and I did not do the BBT and OPK.  So, I will call my OB/GYN tomorrow for a refill of Clomid, but this time, it will be 100 mg.  So hopefully, I will not have side effects.  If I had my period yesterday (which was CD 33), I probably ovulated on CD 19.  I was also getting paranoid if the medicine This time around, I will faithfully track my BBT and do OPKs.  Hopefully, it will work for me this month.  Good luck!

This was my first round of 50mg of clomid.  I also took it days 3-7 and now I am on cycle day 23. I didn't really have any side effects except for a little cramping in my ovaries after I finished taking clomid.  I don't know exactly what day I ovulated but when I went to my RE last week for an u/s and blood test my largest follicle from the Friday before was missing and my blood test showed that I had ovulated.  I'm in my tww now, I will keep you updated as to whether or not it worked as far as gettig pregnant goes.

Today is day 15, so we are on the exact same day  : )    I am having an u/s today and hopefully a trigger shot. I will let you know what they say when I get back if you are interested. It will be later tonight because my RE is 2 hours away.

Just doing timed intercourse - I figure if we BD every 36-48 hrs. it should be a pretty good chance, right?
Update: Today I was in Wal-Mart and got mildly hot all of a sudden (stores are usually pretty cool) so I think that may have been my hot flash - very mild, like when you have a really bad head cold and just get really warm...I haven't realized it as much since I was on vacation in the hot sun anyway, so maybe I have been getting hot and just didn't know it.

Good luck at the RE - let me know how it goes!  I'm not doing any u/s or bloodwork this round - gonna try doing temps and keep BDing until they rise for now (insurance isn't covering much).
I hope I ovulate soon - it's nice to have a "break" during the 2WW.

I took 6 rounds total and really only ever noticed side effects with the very first round.  I thought it would get worse as the doses increased, but I didn't have any side effects after that first month.  And it worked - I'm 20 weeks pregnant with triplets!!  Enjoy being side-effect free

I had no side effect my 1st round and got my PG so it worked :O)  good luck
