Clomid not making follicles big enough?

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in July & have been on a horrible roller coaster ride ever since.  My RE gave me provera to start my period, then put me on Clomid 50 mg for cycle days 3-7.  I went for an u/s and bloodwork this morning to see if any of my follicles were large enough to enable me to give myself the Ovidrel shot and trigger ovulation.  The doc said that none of them are large enough and that I will have to go back in a few days to see if they will grow at all.  I am horribly discouraged that this is not going to work for me at all.  Has anyone been down this road?

It may just be that the dose of Clomid you are in is too low to produce good eggs.  I did not have mature follicles until I was put on 150mg of Clomid.

My first round of clomid was 50mg and it didn't work - no follicles - so they put me on 100mg and it worked.  They told me that even if the 100 didn't work, they would bump me to 150 so I shouldn't worry about it.  I have PCOS - and I got one good size follicle each round - so hang in there
