Confused!

by ad_06, Dec 09, 2007 11:15AM
Well I had my first IUI done last cycle. It didnt work!  This cycle we couldn't do anything because I have an 18 mm cyst on my left ovary. I was told, just to use my monitor and try on our own. Well this month is really screwed up! I am on CD 29 (which I usually have 28 - 34 day cycles) I usually get sore bbs and my temps usually stay up until AF comes. This cycle my monitor had me at peak on CD 12 and 13....my temp went from 97.6 on CD 13 to 98.0 on CD 14 and have been between 97.8 to 97.5 ever since? Did I ovulate because of the high temp?? or have I not ovulated because they didn't stay up?? It's just so confusing because usually when my monitor gives me peak, my bbs get sore and my temp stays up??  Could you be pregnant and not have sore bbs or high temps?? I seriously doubt that, but I guess that I am just hoping. I really don't have any signs that AF is on her way.  Well I am so sorry that this is so long and I hope I didn't confuse anybody. Please give me your opinions!! Thanks, Ashley

It doesn't sound like you o'd from those temps. If 97.6 was a pre o temp, 97.5 would be pre o, too. One high temp doesn't indicate o, it needs to stay elevated. Sometimes, you can get a surge and not o. Especially with a cyst. I go in for an u/s next week to check the same thing. I've been getting 2-3 different pos opks per month and the dr said it can be due to a "functional cyst".

I called my dr and the nurse said I would rely more on the monitor than the temps....I thought that didn't sound right! She said that she would put it on the dr's desk and that has been about a week ago and I haven't heard anything from them! Not to be gross or anything, but I noticed today that I am a little more "wet" down there.... since my monitor isn't going to be having me test anytime soon, do you think that I should buy some opk's?? Just in case I am going to O on a longer cycle? Thanks

I have been disappointed with my monitor to be honest. About 1/3 of the time I get a peak and the rest just high. Meanwhile, I'm spending $ on monitor sticks and opks. Geeze, that gets expensive. There have been several other women who have been having the same issues with their monitors. When I get a darker than control line on an opk and my temps shoot up the next day and stay up, it's impossible for me to believe the monitor. It is possible you may still o, but at cd29, it looks like this may be annovulatory. I hope that's not the case.

yeah that is true. temp is up this morning..I don't know what to do. Should I call my dr again? you would think as expensive as these monitors are they would be accurate! Oh well maybe this next cycle will be a little better.Hopefully the cyst is gone.
