After about 3 months with one fertility specialist, I have decided to seek out a second opinion. My current doctor just prescribes me Clomid, even though I do ovulate. The other problems, such as spottingVaginal bleeding between periods for at least 8 days prior to AF and no CM have NOT been addressed. When I bring them up, he just says "we'll talk about that down the road". Well, it's been alomst 10 months of trying, and "down the road" is too far away for me. He's never done an HSG, an ultrasound, or any hormone testing except Progesterone. When DH was tested, I was just told, "everything is fine" never given any #'s or anything else explained. So, even given all that, I feel bad calling today to have my files sent to the new guy... Has anyone ever felt this way? I just really want a child, and the old doc is really frustrating me!!!
Don't feel guilty I did the samething just a few days a go. My dr assistant even told me that if I left he would never take me back because he would get offended. I still didn't care I believe he looks out for his packet and benefit u should do the same. Good luck and keep us posted if this one is any different.
I must say that I haven't been through that but just reading it upsets me. Forget your doctor. If he's not willing to put all into it like you are then you deserve to get another doctor. There is one out there that will help you. DO NOT feel guilty about it. God bless and good luck.
Jen_ke,
I have a question for you about your comment that you don't have CM. How do you know you don't have it? I don't ever see my EWCM yet someone said that you don't have to see it to have it. Did your doctor tell you that you don't have it? Just curious as I don't know whether or not I have a problem :-)
Actually, one other test my doc dis do many months ago was a postcoidal test which came up that there was barely any sperm left in me, and since DH's count was fine, he figured it was the lack of CM that was not allowing it to survive.
Have you been able to get pregnant before? I got pregnant in June, yet MC in August, so maybe I do have some amount of CM, but I don't know :-( I'm going to try again until January and if no luck my husbands new insurance will cover 6 rounds of IUI so I guess we'll try that.
Don't feel bad. It sounds like you're making the right decision, and it's time for a fresh pair of eyes to look at your history. Some doctors are more aggressive at diagnosing and treating infertilityInfertility Infertility - resources Primary infertility than others, and that's what you need.
If having problems with CM, I just read some information on something you may want to try. It is call Pre-Seed. You can get it drug stores, the internet, or even Ebay for about $17. It is a semen safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex lubricant and acts like your own CM. Maybe give that a try or get on the internet and look up more info on it. Good Luck!
Well, I'm on my way to the old Dr. to sign a release to send records to the new one. I called to say I was coming and they were already unfriendly about it. You know, TTC is stressful enough, I don't need crabby medical personel to add to it! Luckily the staff at the new place is VERY wonderful! :)
Oh that's just rude and unprofessional!! You're right...it's stressful enough without having to deal with a bunch of buttholes at the Dr's office!! :) If you're getting a good vibe from the new place, then all the more reason to switch.
I just like the Mucinex better because I hate the taste of cough syrup, and the Mucinex is a pill. I'd much rather swallow a pill then a capful of Robitussin!!

I still think if you want to pursue a second opinion, then go for it!! Don't feel badly about it- it's not like a loyalty thing.
