Bring a pad! You'll be leaking some of the fluid they use after and probably also have some bleeding/spotting, and the pads they have there are not always the most comfortable ones ;-)
Other than that, I know some womenWomen's way have a lot of discomfort during the procedure, but not everyone does. Mine didn't really hurt at all. I think it just depends on whether or not the tubes have any blockagesPeripheral artery disease. And if they do, and you do feel some pain, at least it'll be worth it if they can help flush out the blockagesPeripheral artery disease, right? But either way, it's a pretty short procedure, so you'll be fine :-)
Wow! I remember that.. Yea heather5 is right! bring a pad...I felt like i had my period all over again!! For 10 minutes....lol But I had a huge hot flash and cramps
Muchas gracias ;D I just have to remind myself that it's worth KNOWING what's going on! I tell ya, the things we PUT OURSELVES thru! LOL I'm beginning to think I like torture! ;)
I did feel better knowing that ne tube was blocked. Now I know I have to have a good amount of eggies on the left side. So, it is a good feeling to know what is going on! Good luck!
I'm BACK!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all for the good wish's ;D OKAY...........
I was staring to get so anxious while I was waiting, kept reminding myself ALL that I have been thru, & that this is no biggy!
My nurse was great, she explained EVERYTHING to me before the DR came in, of course I had all sorts of questions, including "has anyone ever said FORGET IT, & walked out"??? LOL, she laughed & said NO, not for this procedure! But that most women are very nervous!
When she was talking to me, I started to feel a little panicky, & had to just breathe & relaxxxxxxxxxx.........
DR came in, NICE guy (kinda young & nice looking, so I was like GREAT! Ughhhhh)
I told him I was nervous, but that I endure pain well & I was on 500 mg of motrin.
He told me sometimes the hardest part was getting thru the cervix, especially if ones had a DnC recently.
WELL, here we go........... I laid back, & he started to put all kinds of "goodies"inside (LOL) Totally fine, like a pap, then I saw the balloon inflate, & the dye filling up.
NO PAIN AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE ITSY BITSY BIT! ;D
My one lil tube I have was open, & if it was clogged at all, its open now. He said everything looked good, I asked him if my lil tube looked "normal" to him & he said yes, & he could not see any scarring in my uterus.
Now, my uterus had that little "shape" BUT I didn't ask, ( should have!) I noticed that it was a bit sideways???????? Anyone else noticed that by chance???? CURIOUS!
I am SOOOOOOOO thankful it was a piece of cake!!!! HONESTLY a pap smere is MUCH WORSE for me, cuz of the "snipping" that is done. THAT HURTS ME!
You are sooooo lucky! I didn't want to tell you before but I literally felt like I was going to die during mine! My uterus felt like it was on fire! THAT **** HURT!! I attempted to break DH's hand during it but just couldn't do it! I am so happy for you!! HUGS!
Oh no!!!!!!! It was that bad for you ;( I do feel very lucky, cuz I am not exaggerating one bit, it was TOTALLY fine for me. I was thinking "when is this going to flippen hurt...I'm ready!!!: LOL
Do you know why your uterus hurt so bad? I was expecting my tube to cramp up, but I have more pain "tooting" sometimes than this HSG hahahaha ;)
I felt the same way as scienceteacher79. I felt like my insides were gonna explode. Not to mention the doc clamped my cervix because it kept moving. Everytime she injected the dye I wanted to curl up in a little ball and cry. I was in pain all night and the day after,
ahhhhhh, I'm sorry ;( Were your tubes blocked? Now I am wondering why the heck mine didn't hurt???? Did you take any pain meds before? I'm sure this helped me a lot. I'd rather do this again ANY day over going to get dental work done! I'm serious too! LOL
I took 1000mg of tylenol before I went and it still felt like my guts were going to be ripped out. The only good thing was it was over in 2-3 minutes. It almost felt like horrible labor pains! I thought I had forgot those pains!! AHHH!! :) You are lucky girly!! ANDDDDDDD your tube looks good and all the "cobwebs" were flushed out :) Now, go start baby dancing! HAHA!!! Good luck this cycle girly!
I remember that test. I took the day off from working thinking that it would hurt really bad. I did have some cramping during the procedure, but as soon as they were done the cramping was gone.

Best of luck!!!
I called both DR's & RE's office to ask what is "better" or if there's a difference betwen Tylenol or Ib P.????
I know you ladies are jealous & WISH you were me today! LOL
I will report in a few hours! :D
