Hi!!

by Srfoshee, Aug 18, 2007 09:27AM
Hi!!  I have been gone for awhile, and when I finally did get back I was out of the loop so I have just been reading for a few weeks. The biggest congratulations to all of the BFP's!  Just this month I have had my first IUI, while doing my second month on Clomid. I have a question if anyone knows the answer.  I usually have a drastic and clear thermal shift the day after ovulation.  However, this month I had my trigger shot on Monday, and have not seen a clear thermal shift. FF threw up crosshairs, but my numbers are not well abover coverline. Is it possible to not ovulate with the tirgger, or if I have ovulated does this mean my progesterone levels are bad??

Thank you so much for any guidance!!

Hi srfoshee.. it is nice to see you back.. and BFCongrats on your IUI... this is very exciting.. Out of the 4 times I've had hcg trigger shot the first two times, I had a clear thermal shift and the second two, I did not.. The temps did eventually creep up, but it wasn't the clear shift I was used to.  The first time this happened I called the RE and asked the same question... he said with u/s to confirm mature follies and that dose of hcg.. there was NO way I hadn't ovulated.. I got pg this last time, so he was right...   During the initial beta tests my progesterone was okay.. not great but okay.. he said they like to see it over 21 and mine was 20.. it did decline over the next couple of days so he put me on crinone gel suppositories.. after that it shot up into the 30s.. we haven't checked it since but all seems well.. no problems or anything..

Actually I just went back and read your post again and looked at you chart... if you had your shot on Monday.. from my experience, that means you ovulated around 36 hours later (twice I've had u/s to confirm this timing)... so depending on what time you took your shot.. you either ovulated Tuesday evening or Wed... On Thursday you have a clear thermal shift.. You had IUI on tuesday and bd'ed everynight after that... so your chances are really good..  Now it is time just sit back and wait and hope for the symptoms.. best of luck to you.. please keep us posted on your progress..

Take care, hannah

Hi!!

How are you feeling?  I think about you often, I am so happy for you.  I never thought I would go the IUI route, but I have finally given in. I had my trigger at 2 pm monday, and the IUI at 1130am on Tuesday.  I feel like I probably ovulated Wednesday morning, So I am hoping that the washed sperm lived long enough to have a fighting chance.  I have a progesterone level check on Tuesday to confirm ovulation, and that will put my mind at ease. Thank you for the interpretation, I hope you are feeling wonerful!!

Good to see you back!  Your chart definitely looks like you ovulated.  I wouldn't worry about the cross-hairs.  Good luck on your IUI!!!
