Your TSH level needs to be around 1.0 for conception.  If your TSH is higher than 3.3, you possibly have hypothyroidism that should be treated with meds.

What is your TSH level?  I'll answer any more questions you may have about it...

Yes, your TSH is high.  Your doctor should have started you on levothyroxine such as Synthroid (I'd say about 100mcg to start out and check levels in 6 weeks).  (I'm not a doctor--have just read lots about this).  You need to get your TSH to around 1.0 before you even try to conceive.  What is your current treatment for the hypothyroidism?  Also, did your doctor check for thyroid antibodies?  This test will determine if you have auto-immune thyroiditis, aka: Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.  If you don't have antibodies, your thyroid could be out of whack because of a tumor or something.

If you do have thyroid antibodies, the antibodies could prevent you from conceiving and/or carrying the baby to term.  I've read that taking Selenium daily will help to lower those antibodies.

I may not be able to visit this post since it's being pushed back.  You can email me at ***@**** if you'd like.  Take care.
