I am just starting my 3rd IVF. Before we had insurance that covered it, but now we have to pay out of pocket. Now we are going through Kaiser IVF center. It will cost us about $13.600 Including all the meds, ICSI and assisted hatching.
It also depends on the type of insurance you have. for example my insurance will not cover IUI or IVF but it does cover all the dr visits, u/s and meds. I 'think' this will bring down the cost several thousand dollars. I pay $300 for the IUIs. I haven't done an IVF, yet but i'm expecting it to be $8,000 - $10,000. You may consider trying the iui before going straight to ivf.
We were told it would cost us $9,500 for one round of IVF but please understand that was JUST for the IVF!! We had to pay an additional $4,000 for the drugs and shots.. then if you want to have the embryos tested for genetic problems, which I would recommend if you are over 40, that is another $500.... all in all, since our insurance did NOT pay, it cost us close to $20,000 but if a baby results, so well worth the money!!!!
we are in our first round of IVF and our dr. office has a plan called the shared risk plan you pay a one lump sum of 25,000 (plus meds) and if you do not deliver a baby in the next two years you will get your money back! we decided to do that so that it would not be as stressful........but it worked the first time! o-well now we both win right?
I am wanting to try IVF. I dont know a lot about it right now, But I have had my tubes tied for over a year, and it was the worst decision Ive ever made. I was wondering if anyone has heard of infertility insurance covering the cost (all or partial) of the IVF (with meds and dr. visits) in Oklahoma...? Again, I dont know a lot about all of this yet, but i am looking into it more, the more i think about it.

HMO's have to cover infertility including IVF 100%. I was told all HMO's have to do this. I have Humana HMO and so far everything has been covered. I only had to pay a co-pay for the meds which came to $246.00. And when I see the RE I have a $30.00 co-pay.
Good luck. Keep me posted
