IUI done this morning

by scienceteacher79, Nov 01, 2009 02:52PM
Well, I think that whole "scared I won't ovulate" thing was just a fear. I am pretty sure I ovulated/am ovulating. With as many eggs as I had, I still didn't think it would be like this. I am in some serious pain. My entire abdomen is so bloated. My E2 levels finally leveled off from 2805 Thursday to 2810 Friday. I triggered Friday night and was feeling fine until this morning. Now, don't get me wrong, I was bloated and crampy this morning. But after the IUI it all went downhill. I was really crampy and it started to hurt a bit around 11am. We were in the doc office for a good while because everyone and their momma apparently had to have an u/s or IUI this morning. I have NEVER seen it like that! Anyway, finally got home and went straight to bed. I have slept on and off for the last 4 hours. Only being awoken by sharp stabbing pains in my ovaries. When I sneeze or cough (I am getting sick) it feels like knives stabbing me. This suckssss!

Hubby's count were way lower than I thought they would be. 60 million count and 30 million after wash. I am not happy with that. His sperm counts were in the 80-100 million range both times we had one done. I don't know what is going on. It is very upsetting when we have such a great shot and then he has a low count. UGH! Oh well. Whatever. I am going to lay back down. I am in some serious pain still. Just wanted to thank all of you who have sent notes and prayers :) We need them! This is the last try for at least a few months. Hugs and SSBD to all.

PS: What does ovulation for other people feel like? I wanna make sure everything is "normal" :)

30 mln is still pretty good for IUI.  Now, back it up tonight just in case.  With so many eggs you will be O'ing for a while...
Can't wait for POAS time!

by slp57, Nov 01, 2009 03:18PM
Not sure how many follicles you had prior to ovulation but you can still get pregnant with 30 million sperm. Just try and relax...believe me after 8 IUI's and 1 IVF I can understand your worry and your frustration. I never had that much pain with my IUI's but the level of crampiness varies from person to person. Also, if they gave you the HCG shot you should definitely ovulate. Hope you get to feeling better!

by usuk, Nov 01, 2009 07:16PM
Phew. Yaaaaaayyyy.

by amy0013, Nov 01, 2009 07:26PM
Do you ever want to punch people who say "it only takes one sperm?"  LOL...cause that was my thought when I read your update.  I'm sure it's disheartening to have his count drop so much.  I have never gone through IUI so I am not sure how that affects ovulation.  I have friends who get sharp/crampy pains when they O.  I have never been able to tell but I know it's possible.  Considering you had the "SUPER O" month...it's no surprise you're feeling discomfort.

Rest up and take it easy!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 01, 2009 08:00PM
Man - I still feel horrible - I can barely walk! I look like I have a corn cob stuck up my butt! I know this isn't from the IUI beause I was fine and walked around the whole day I had my last one - had cramps here and there but nothing that put me on my butt allllll dayyyyyyyy longggggg. I wonder how long this is going to go on. I gotta work people! :) Hubby said his men are kung fu fighting - that is why I have so much pain :) hee hee.

Thank you girls for all of your encouragement. I know it only take one (gag, cough - amy - haha :) But I just want more people fighting for those darn eggs! :) This is our last shot for a while so I hope it is a good one! I am going to get my progesterone done in 5-7 days and that will hopefully be really high or I will just give up :(

Have to start the meds doc prescribed and that will (HOPEFULLY) help a little with this pain. Then I start the crinone progesterone (whoopy doo - cottage cheese crotch- sooooo looking forward to that! NOT!). Ok - I am going to pay bills and go to sleep. Night all - love you girls! Keep your fingers and toes crossed please :) HUGS!

YOU are so funny!  Even while in pain!!!!  I always have O pain, but when I did the 2 cycles on Gonal-F/trigger, OMGOSH, I was in pain on my right side literally ALL day! I was walking like an OLD  lady w/hemroids!!!  I'm guessing once My follies burst outa there, is when I felt better;)  But I did have some after (mild) pain a couple days later for a couple of days.
I hope this works for you!!!!!!  Hope those Kung-Fu-Fighters are concurring!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 01, 2009 08:40PM
EVERYBODY WAS KUNG FOO FIGHTING!! dadadadada da! HAHA!!

by HendoDrae, Nov 01, 2009 09:25PM
I had my first IUI on this past Thursday. I had Clomid and GonalF... then HCG trigger. And I bloated and cramped up until today. My doctor told me that a small amount of bloating and discomfort is normal after all the hormones...

I don't know how to cope with this tww! I'm dying!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 02, 2009 10:28AM
My tummy was so bloated last night that I literally looked 5-6 months pregnant. My belly was so tight on the outside that I couldn't even see my stretch marks from DD. It made my belly shiny because it was stretched so tightly!! UGH! I am at work today - not happily, but I am at work. It doesn't hurt so much if I sit down or even if I stay standing up but it is murderous going from one position to the other. So, i have decided to WHEEL myself around the room :) My kids think it is hilarious.

by Quinns momma, Nov 02, 2009 10:40AM
I feel for ya... That has to be so uncomfortable but well worth it in the end when u get your BFP.   :)

by scienceteacher79, Nov 02, 2009 11:30AM
oooohhh I hope so! I will be even more upset if this doesn't result in a BFP. At least I pretty much know what it feels like to get all of the eggs for an IVF cycle...if we have to go that route!

by Quinns momma, Nov 02, 2009 11:47AM
I am confident that this will work for you.  I month before DH and I were scheduled for our first IUI I got preggers with just clomid. :)   So I am sure you will get preggers with IUI and not have to make the IVF leap.

by scienceteacher79, Nov 02, 2009 01:41PM
We will see. Going to try to hold off as long as I can to test. 12 dpo would be good or 14dpo if I can somehow manage that!! I am praying for a miracle at this point!!! Thanks for all the encouragement and cheers!!!

Love you guys!!

Oh, I feel for you and i am not that far behind you .  I just got word that I will have my 3rd IUI on thursday!!!   I remember my last IUI I had really bad cramps at the end of that day and I was totally exhausted.  I hope you feel better tomorrow.  The only relief i have will be having the IUI so close to the weekend.  i am really excited, and like you hoping this will be THE ONE!  Good luck and feel better. Keep posting and sticky baby dust to you!

Yay! Congrats on the iui :) I'm happy to hear everything worked out! When I went thru IVF, before they retrieved my 22 eggs, I felt just how you're describing. I walked around like an old lady :) I do like dh's explanation, though! ;-) Take it easy & best wishes!!!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 02, 2009 05:11PM
Still hurting - this really blows! Everytime I move (or cough!) it feels like a knife in my ovaries. How long is this going to go on for? At least it feels better than it did yesterday, not much, but a little.

Thank you again for all of the well wishes. I am praying this is it. One baby, two babies, a hundred - I don't care. :) Hugs and SSBD to all.

Just as I read your comment, my back started to cramp!  I have the heating pad on and turned it up!  I also got a slight acne breakout today.  This is going to be a rough week, I can feel it already.  Have you tried taking tylenol for pain?  You know I wouldn't be surprised if you have twins. :)
Hang in there!  Try to have relaxing evening. **********sticky baby dust*******

Tylenol is doing nothing for me :( I am just laying here. Good luck sweetie!

by babywanted556, Nov 02, 2009 06:23PM
If you're still hurting, drink a lot of soup, gatorade (sp??) or water, it might be help.
I got mild overstimulation before.....it hurts, and can not walk.  When I lay out and try to turn one side to another it hurts like he...ll, I can feel a lot of follicles hang in my overies.  My RE cancelled my IUI cycle because he said I would got worse if I got pg.
I hope you get better each day, and a Big Fat Positive in another week.

by scienceteacher79, Nov 02, 2009 06:54PM
Even if I have to deal with this for the next 10 weeks, that is fine! As long as I get a BFP in the end!! It would be soooo worth it.

by scienceteacher79, Nov 03, 2009 05:03PM
well, went to the RE at 5pm because they wanted to see me when i called and said i looked 5 months preggo. turns out i have a good sized pool of fluid in my abdomen. it was the creepest thing i have ever seen. just a big black mass. anyone had this happen? any ideas what to do? doc said just bedrest. if it gets worse i will have to have it sucked out! scared poopless right now!!

by feather2e, Nov 03, 2009 07:09PM
Did they say it was OHSS?

by scienceteacher79, Nov 03, 2009 07:54PM
They never said it but they looked worried. I am on bedrest for the next three days and u/s on Friday. Doc said he didnt believe in the gatorade thing and told me to drink enough water but not a whole lot. he said it adds to the fluid in my body. this just stinks.

by scienceteacher79, Nov 03, 2009 09:34PM
From what I am reading, I probably have moderate OHSS...this stinks....

Anyone have any experience with this?

by feather2e, Nov 03, 2009 10:20PM
I had mod OHSS It took about a week before I felt better. I didnt get BFP. I f you do  it will get worse because of the pregnancy hormones.

by scienceteacher79, Nov 04, 2009 05:28AM
Yeah I know it will get worse but I would take it :) I am glad you said you felt better after a week. Does the fluid just eventually drain out on its own?

by peppypeep, Nov 04, 2009 04:44PM
To: scienceteacher79
Hey scienceteacher79,

Sorry to hear about the possible OHSS, but from what I have read it is not the end of the world and it does not affect the baby.  But check with your doctor and ask lots of questions!!
Well my last u/s was on Monday and my follies were 18, 13, 13 and 11.
They told me one more night of gonal f and then trigger on Tuesday. So I triggered
last night and was a little crampy today but totally excited for my IUI procedure tomorrow!  Yay!
I hope those follies are in the 18 range by then,  I need as many chances as possible at my age!!   Baby dust to all ********** and I'll keep you posted!!!!!!!   :)))

by scienceteacher79, Nov 04, 2009 05:36PM
I know the feeling of wanting as many targets as possible! I am on bedrest per the doc now and it seems to be helping a bit. Those 13's may be ready (might be 17's today so they are right in range!)So, I totally think you have a shot! YAY!!! You will only be 4 days behind me so keep in touch! Good luck with the IUI tomorrow! :) HUGS!!

by peppypeep, Nov 04, 2009 07:32PM
To: scienceteacher79
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I am really excited. By the way, how big were your follies at your last u/s?  just curious. Gosh, we will be on the 2ww together - yay! we can be buddies!

It's so exciting. My hubby is really excited too. I am just relaxing right now, this is the first night in 10 days that I haven't had to take a shot.  I'm just looking to cruise into tomorrow's procedure.  I really hope you feel better soon and glad you were put on bedrest, you seem like you needed it - the kids will get over it.
I will definitely keep in touch - its nice to have someone to go through this with.
Feel better and keep me posted!  *******baby dust to you *********

I didn't really pay attention the last time I went in (kinda sick of it all at that point!) But I think I had a 19 on each side and some 16-17 on the good side. I didn't really care about the right side since the tube is all clogged up :) Doc seems to think they might "float" out of the right side (but I am not bankng on that!) and into the left tube. With all the fluid I have a bunch must have released, that much I am pretty sure of. Even the smaller ones who probably don't have a shot at all :) Oh well, wasted about a years worth of eggs in one shot! YIKES! Going to try to sleep - good luck tomorrow and let me know how it goes! SSBD!

Jen,
I hope you got some good sleep last night and thank you for the info.  I am hoping to have at least 3 follies to work with.

Right now I am up early in anticipation of my iui.  My hubby is up too.  I'll let you know how it goes.  I guess today is 0dpiui. ha-ha.   Try to relax during your bedrest and feel better!  SSBD to you as well********

by scienceteacher79, Nov 05, 2009 11:05AM
How did it go?

by peppypeep, Nov 05, 2009 12:05PM
To: scienceteacher79
Everything went fine!  Hubby had 14 million after the wash which was good for him.
I have felt very crampy after the IUI and still do.  I am trying to stay at my desk, it hurts more when I walk around.  My boss is out right now, and that's a relief.

This is all really exciting. My hubby was really excited too.  My blood test is on Nov. 22 - but I'll probably do an hpt beforehand for fun.  Hopefully it will be good news.  Anyway,
how are you feeling?  Are you less swollen?

by SamanthaGoodman, Nov 05, 2009 12:22PM
Hello,

Im new to this forum.

I did my IUI on Oct 31st, but have been having severe tummy pain since Monday night..Is it something to be concerned about. please help.

Thank you

Samantha

To: SamanthaGoodman
You should tell your doctor about any difficulties or weird fluids you might see or feel.
I got pregnant on my 2nd iui and i don't remember feeling severe cramping beyond the first day. However, the following week I started to feel some "stretching" in my uterus.
That was my experience.  Good luck and baby dust to you*******

by peppypeep, Nov 08, 2009 04:12PM
To: scienceteacher79
So far so good. Very tired today!  Ugh. I'm 3dpiui. I've had some minor cramping this morning, minor back pain and just very tired.  How are you doing?

by scienceteacher79, Nov 08, 2009 05:04PM
I am 7dpIUI and sometimes the pain is better from the OHSS and today has been icky. I am dreading going back to work tomorrow. My kids are about a week behind now and there is so much catch up to do...ugh. But I resisted the urge to buy any HPT today - but only because I refused to go shopping :) So, I am hanging in there...

by peppypeep, Nov 08, 2009 05:30PM
To: peppypeep
I'm sorry you are still having pain.  That stinks.  Don't test on hpt yet!!  You will thank yourself later.  Wait until at least 10 dpiui.  That's only three more days (Wednesday morning)!  However, you may only see a faint line that you can only see in the brightest light.  Test again on 11dpiui. You should have an answer by then if you just can't wait until your blood test.

I guess by this schedule, I should be able to see something faint in one week!!
Yay!  Can't wait!  Who says you have to wait the whole two weeks!!!
Good luck!  *******baby dust to you**********

by scienceteacher79, Nov 08, 2009 06:20PM
My doc doesn't do blood tests unless you get a BFP on a test. I don't know what I will do.

by peppypeep, Nov 08, 2009 06:50PM
To: scienceteacher79
Well obviously it you get your period you won't need to see him.  That's weird that he makes you test on your own before giving you a blood test.  Again, just give it a few more days and then test. Good luck!!!!!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 08, 2009 07:17PM
Yeah - I will just hang in there :) I lost my mind on my hubby tonight (it was justified) so I am just sitting here fuming...

How are you feeling?

I am feeling good. Still have very little energy.  Just resting right now.  Hope you hubby kiss and make up.  All is quiet for now.  Another Monday awaits.

So I'm 5dpiui. Some lower abdominal pain, feeling tired on and off, a little moody. Took my temp this a.m., was 98.3 - so maybe that is my normal?  I believe in the implantation dip - it happened to me last time when I was preggo.  I went down to 97.3.
hope everyone is doing well.  Scienceteacher how are you doing, is the pain gone?

by scienceteacher79, Nov 10, 2009 05:21PM
Pain is gone. Constipated to all hell. AF cramps today. Haven't temped in months :) So, I have no idea what they are :) Thought (think?) I may have a very very faint + on FRER but I am a crazy person so who knows... it is in my profile.

by Mariana101, Nov 10, 2009 05:31PM
When is your blod test? DON'T DO HPT!!!!!! I hate themmmmmm!!!!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 10, 2009 06:00PM
Mariana - sorry, I seriously can't control myself...   :(  Its a compulsion.

by usuk, Nov 10, 2009 07:11PM
I have a new POAS system. I pee in a cup, and start with a cheap test (old school). Then if there are any second lines that are too close for me to call (either OPK or HPT) then I wip out a digital and use the pee twice in one go. But if it's obvious there is nothing cooking then I have only wasted a cheapie. They should sell combo kits. And then should come with chocolate.

by peppypeep, Nov 11, 2009 05:50AM
To: scienceteacher79
So glad that the pain is gone.   I'm really excited about your faint line!   You should probably test again today just to make sure.  Yay!
Well, I'm 6dpiui and getting close to being able to test.  I had a little crampiness when I woke up and my temp was 98.6 -pretty normal!  My uterus still feels "full" so hopefully a good sign!
Good luck and sticky baby dust to everyone!!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 11, 2009 08:01AM
Thanks Peppypeep!

usuk - you SHOULD market that combo kit/choc idea!

by peppypeep, Nov 13, 2009 06:17PM
So maybe I'm overreacting but I just tested on hpt and saw a very, very, very faint line.
I am 8dpiui and its about 7pm.  I wanted to wait for tomorrow but was curious.
Could this mean BFP??!!??  Last time I had a super faint line on 9dpiui in the morning.
Can't wait to test again tomorrow and see if there is faint line, hopefully more visible.
My hubby said he clearly saw the faint line as well. It was almost like a shadow and could only be seen in strong light.  In any case, I'm pleased!  ******magical sticky baby dust to everyone*********  Yay!

by scienceteacher79, Nov 13, 2009 08:18PM
I got a clearer faint positive at night than with FMU!

by peppypeep, Nov 14, 2009 04:10AM
I'm up early and tested this morning twice.  One was bfn and one had a super duper faint line!  I will look at it again but I'm pretty sure that is what I saw.  I will take your advice scienceteacher79 and test this evening.  Really hope I can get bfp!!!

by peppypeep, Nov 14, 2009 11:20AM
I'm 9dpiui and I tested at noon on a First Respons and got bfn.  It might still be too early for me.  I am hoping to see something tomorrow morning.  If not, it will probably be official.  ......sigh.....
Good luck to everyone and sorry for  the false surprise...

Well I met with the doc and I'm on go for IVF!!!  Will start in January and do transfer in February.  Wish me luck!!!

by scienceteacher79, Dec 17, 2009 11:35AM
Good luck!! Does your insurance cover IVF? Just wondering because I have no idea how I am going to come up with my share of the money if we decide to do it next year.

by peppypeep, Dec 17, 2009 12:14PM
Yes, they are required to pay for IVF in my state. So its just a matter of taking a few blood tests, meeting their numbers (which shouldn't be a problem) and doing the deed.
I know it is expensive but, let's face it, if it works you will be so happy!
Good luck to you too and let's make it a Happy New Year!!
