I'm 38 years old, had 3 unsuccessful IVFs, blocked tubes, etc.

Should I try to get pregnant naturally, OR should I try another IVF, OR should I try IUI next??
I have had all the tests/blood tests under the sun, and the problems found were: Endometriosis, Polyps (both treated in 2006) & blocked tubes (treated in Feb. 2009) all blood tests came back with good results.  I was told my egg quality and embryo quality were Grade 1 and no problems with egg quantity either, although I've only had 2 embyos at each IVF treatment out of 14 - 16 eggs. Now that I know that my tubes are unblocked should I try to conceive naturally again or should I try another IVF or IUI?  I have two friends they both have had IVF and got pregnant first time but the outcomes were not good, so I'm worried. I'm also overweight which I know I need to work on.  My husband had various sperm counts, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Also my clinic told me that IVF is not for everyone.

Thanks for any advice.

Since your tubes have been unblocked for lack of a better word, then if it were me I would give IUI a shot.  Its success rate is lower than IVF though.  You said your egg quality is good but I have to warn you that the quality significantly decreases the older you are.  If you are 35 and under, then IVF is a good option.

You're right - being overweight is a factor - I had that same problem myself and lost some weight before undergoing any more procedures as per the doctor's instructions.  Also since your husband's sperm count is a little varied, I would still consider IVF w/ICSI if IUI"s don't work.

I look forward to hearing some of the other ladies' opinions - good luck w/whatever you decide to do and SSBD! - jen
