Hello Everyone, it's been a long while since I've posted anything. I have a question...I had a miscarriage Jan 11,08', Unfortunately it was a blighten ovum (sp?). I didn't have a D&C because my Dr said it would be better for it to happen naturally....I've never experience pain like that before. I actually had to push it out. I was (at that time) 11 weeks but was 9 weeks when they told me I would miscarry. My question is I havent received my period yet! I'm a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys worried because I hear some womanWomen's way had theirs a week or two afterwards. I'm wondering if having an over stimulated ovary (at the time of the pregnancy) is the reason for the delay...Please guide me...anyone on this! What should I do?
I think the earliest womenWomen's way can expect to get another period is about four weeks after a miscarriage, but it can take longer than that. It all depends on your HCG levels at the time of the miscarriage...and how long it takes for the numbers to get back down. You won't ovulate again until they're below 5 (and then get your period a couple of weeks after that).
I found this info on a miscarriage site:
"Ovulation can occur 14 days after a miscarriage with the next period 28 days after the miscarriage, but there is great personal variation. It may take a few cycles before your regular pattern is re-established. It can take up to 6 or 7 weeks for your next period to come if you had "natural" miscarriage (i.e. no D&C or tablets). "
Since it's been longer than 7 weeks since your miscarriage, I would probably set up an appointment with your doctor. He/she can check to make sure your levels are coming down (or already have come down) and possibly give you some medication to get your period.
When having a natural miscarriage, there's also a possibility that not all tissue was passed, and if so, your levels will stay somewhat elevated, preventing your cycles from starting up again. If that's the case, it will have to be removed (usually with a D&C).
I'm not sure about how over-stimulation can affect getting your cycles back, though...
I am so sorry about your loss, phenomenalwoman. I hope things will get back to normal soon an that you'll get another BFP again in the near future!
