Infection and infirtility?!

by Lilyb, Aug 25, 2008 10:24AM
Hi Ladies, Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question regarding uterine infection and infirtility. I know that the infection in serious cases can lead to infirtility because it damages the fallopian tubes. What I want to know is that how likely it is that a mild infection, which I had 6 months ago after my MC, has damaged both my fallopian tubes? I am asking this because I alway got pregnant on my first try, this time we have been trying for 6 months an nothing. I am concerned that th einfection may have caused some damage.

I appreciate any advice/input you could give me.

Thanks,

It's POSSIBLE that you have some scar tissue from the infection causing blockage, they can run a dye through your tubes to test for that.  Also, if you had a miscarriage before, it is POSSIBLE that your hormone levels could be out of whack.  (I have read that low progesterone could actually cause miscariages. And other types of hormonal imbalances could be an indicator that you aren't ovulating, causing your inablity to conceive.)  Could be anything.  I would suggest talking to your dr. about it.  My opinion.  Good Luck!!
