Is it possible to not have ovulated?

by wanting4#1, May 23, 2008 11:12AM
Just wondering if it's possible that I really didn't ovulate the last few months IF 1) FertilityFriend 'said' I did, 2) CBFM gave me peak readings and there was a rise in my temps....

Could all of these forces have conspired against me to trick me into thinking that I o'd when I hadn't?????

If you had a clear thermal shift, I think you definitely ovulated. I guess the monitor could technically be wrong, since it detects the surge in hormones prior to ovulation, and sometimes, the surge occurs, but your body still doesn't ovulate...but the thermal shift wouldn't have occurred if you didn't ovulate. Unless you were taking progesterone supplements or something like that.

I think that I had a clear thermal shift - FF detected ovulation...here's my past charts -

Can you tell me what you think?  All four charts should be there...

Your charts look good to me ;-)

Why were you worried about not ovulating?

I went to see my doctor today to do a pre-o u/s...he wanted to see what my uterine lining looked like, follicle size, etc. (trying to find the 'problem' of my fertility)...anyway, he said that there could be PCOS, but that there was no domininant follicle, the uterine lining was thin and no cervical mucus...so, I have to go back next week (i should o about this time next week!).  He made a passing comment about needing to make sure that I am even ovulating and that got me to thinking that maybe he thinks that I haven't been ovulating.....

Oh, I see...

You know what, though, if you're not ovulating until about a week from now, it might just have been too early to see a dominant follicle...and the lining increases gradually as you get closer to O...so hopefully your next sonogram will show a dominant follicle and a thicker lining.

Good luck to you!
