Is my progesterone level high enough to still be pregnant?

by wanting4#1, Jun 07, 2007 12:00AM
Hi...I am new to posting questions, but have been reading the sites for a few months now.  In Jan., I went on my first cycle of Clomid (had progesterone level of 58.7 on CD23) and became pregnant; however, I had a blighted ovum and officially miscarried on March 6th.  So, I had to wait until this cycle to start Clomid again; they waited a few extra days to give me the shot to give my ovaries some extra time.  On CD24, I had a progesterone level of 24...with it being so much lower than the first time, is it still possible that I could be pregnant or should I just not have any hope and try again next month?  Also, has anyone "become used to" the Clomid so it won't work anymore?  I had such positive results the first time and this time, not so much and now I am worried that each month will be worse....any advice will be greatly appreciated

1st trimester levels usually fall between 9-47 :)

24 is an awesome progesterone level!  Anything over 15 on a medicated cycle indicates ovulation.  When I had my ds 4 years ago, my progesterone was 19 at 7dpo.  This time around it was 78 BUT I am pg with twins and was on 200 mg progesterone daily.  You definitely have a shot at getting a BFP this month!  Good luck!

Thank you all for the hope and encouragement....it's nice to have someone to "talk" to...l feel like everyone is so tired of hearing my story or woes that I am trying to keep it all to myself now...

I read alot of info. about taking progesterone during early pregnancy...why is that you do that? Wondering if it's something that I should ask dr. about.....

If your post o progesterone is 24 and turns out not pg, I don't see why you would want to take it. Usually, the women who take it have too low of progesterone to support a pg. Your progesterone is at a good level :)

Thanks!  I am not sure yet if I am going to test on CD31 or just wait (my last cycle was 35, really messed with me....)

Does anyone have any thoughts about "PreSeed" (I think that's the name)??

I tried it 1st time this cycle. We'll know my verdict soon, lol. Even if it doesn't happen this time, I'm still going to use it next time too. shesherm and Nickey1 both got bfps the 1st time they used it :) If you buy it, start with 1/2 a tube, a whole one is too much for most women.

Hi,

I was on clomid for 6 month through my reg. doctor and nothing. Now I'm seeing a different doc and back on clomid. I had 3 great follicles and my husbands sperm count after the spin was 89%. I received an IUI on 6/2/07 and went back for blood work on 6/6/07. The nurse said my progesterone levels were 35.  Is that good? Could I be pregnant..
