Length of cycle on Clomid

by Saskatoon, May 27, 2007 12:00AM
I'm just wondering if anybody else is on Clomid and what the length of your cycle is?  My doctor told me that my cycle should be 28 days and that I should O between days 10-14.  I've been checking my temp every morning, with no temp rise.  I'm now on day 17 and I'm wondering if I won't O on Clomid or if my cycle will just be longer.  My previous cycle with no Clomid was 50 days.  Hmm??  How long is the average cycle on Clomid?

I normally ovulate on my own around cd 12.  I'm on clomid for unexplained infertility. I take it days 5-9. RE give me an u/s on cd 12 to see the size of my follies and if all is good, I do an HCG trigger that evening and ovulate the afternoon of cd 14.

Some women on clomid will develop mature follicles but won't release the egg without the assistance of HCG trigger shot. The chance of this increases if you are taking 100 mg or more.  Your dr really should be monitoring your cycle with u/s.  If you are seeing your regular ob/gyn, I'd recommend going to a reproductive specialists.

Best of luck to you.

I answered some things in your other post, so check that out as well.  My cycles are around 33-35 days on clomid, and I O between CD 19-21 - so don't give up hope!  I could still happen.... I also know that last month it did work and my cycle was 33 days, O'ing on CD 19.  You can check out my chart at:

I had my progesterone levels done at 7dpo and they were at 21.5 (I put in your last post a website about levels)

hope this helps - ask more ?'s if you need to!

Oops! Forget to mention that if you're wondering what all the "illness" markers are on my chart, it's not cuz the clomid made me feel sick - I have mono :o(

I'm on my 1st round of clomid and it appears I am going to o almost a week early. My dr didn't indicate to me that it would change the length of my cycle. Since my mc no two have been the same in length so it's hard to say what normal is. I was only told that o would likely be 7-10 days after last pill, but it wasn't carved in stone, could be later. I hope it works for you and you o soon. Otherwise, they will likely increase the dosage.
