Im 39, 2nd IUI resulted in pregnancy but miscarried at 9 weeks.  Looking for that GOOD EGG this time!

I know the feeling!  I have been through this twice and its really trying.  Well its been almost five days already. You know, I just kept myself busy with little projects and forgot about pregnancy for a week.  It helped last time.  Hang in there, in one more week you can take an hpt.  I took one at 11piui and got a very very faint line.  By 12-13dpiui you should get a faint line that you can see more clearly.  Do yourself a favor and don't take an hpt before 11dpiui, it will probably be negative and will make you depressed.  That's my 2 cents. *****baby dust to you****

Hi!!

I'll jump on the TWW train with all of you.  I was supposed to have ER for IVF this Friday but due to responding poorly to stims, my doc is pretty sure that I will be converted to IUI, which will most likely take place this coming Sunday (Nov 8).  I know TWW starts with IVF from date of retrieval so I am guessing that TWW will start from actual IUI date.  I dunno..... I am rambling....trying to get my head around this cancelled IVF cycle.

So, I am up early this morning because I am having the IUI today!!!!  Yay!!!  My hubby is up and in the shower and is ready as well.  We are very excited.  I'm a little bloated and have gained 3 pounds with the stims.  Ugh.  Oh well, hopefully it will all be worth it. I am feeling really good and relaxed.  This is it!
So today we'll say is "0dpiui" and I'll track symptoms from here. Good luck to everyone and *******Super Sticky Baby Dust to you all***********  :)

I had the IUI this morning and felt a little crampy ever since.  I am back at work and wish I could just GO HOME!  I am trying not to leave my desk for any reason.

My hubby was really excited and very supportive during the procedure.  My ovaries feel a little sore right now, and did earlier today as well.  I remember last time I had this I was so uncomfortable at the end of the day, it was difficult to bd with husband.  But we need to for next 2 days, so hopefully the discomfort will subside.

Well, I guess we start the tww officially.  My blood test will be on 11/22, just before the holiday. Hopefully, it will be good news!  Although I will probably do an hpt beforehand!  I'll keep posting!

Good to know your IUI went well. Feeling crampy *****!! How many have you had done?I am on my 3rd cycle of Clomid with a trigger. I really hope 3rd times a charm. I asked my OB if IUI would be an option for me and he said yes probably because my DH sperm motility was only 21% (he was sick when he tested so we have to do it again and are hoping for better results). He also told me I would have to go some where else to have that done because they dont do that in his office. I was disappointed about that but I will do what I have to.
Could you explain the procedure for me please? I hope you get to feeling better!!!!!

This is my 3rd IUI.  My second IUI resulted in pregnancy but m/c at 9 weeks.
So I'm back on the train again.  I was on gonal f and then trigger.  The procedure itself is simple.  You and your hubby come in that morning and he gives his sample.  He has to ejaculate 2-3 days before and not have sex until he needs to give his sample.  
After he gives his sample they "wash" it with a chemical to get rid of the seminal fluids and bad sperm so what gets put in you is the best most mobile sperm.  This takes about 1 1/2 hours.  Then they call you in to perform the procedure.  The sperm is injected into you using a syringe with a long plastic tube on the front.  The sperm is injected high enough so that none will leak out.  You will feel something after a few minutes in the ovary area and then later in your lower tummy.  

Right now I feel a little sore in that area and am avoiding walking around.  They will then give you a date to come in and get your official blood test.

Me too waiting for that period.One more week to go. I am on clomid and Ovidrel. Did my first IUI on Oct 31st. Hubbys mortility rate was 97% .... i had two follies each at 25 mm...Praying that my first one itself is a success....

I have been having tummy pain since Monday. Alot of gas has been forming and its so hard at work. Also since last night i have been having this yellowish discharge. I hope this is nothing to worry about..

Please let me know if anyone have/had such symptoms...did any of you get a bfp with symptoms like this

Thanks for the info. I am shocked that they dont have you on bed rest just to keep everything up there :)   I have another question...when DH and I have sex I lay down for 30min but when I get up I still have alot come out-sorry if TMI-do you have this happen? I worry if any is stayin up there....

You don't need bedrest after the iui, although it would have been nice, but I needed to get to work - don't have too much time off left at this point in the year.

Sex (we call it db) is always messy no matter what you do.  All of your DH's swimmers do not necessarily make it to the target.  What I was told is that any swimmers that leak out never made it deep enough, so it wouldn't have been effective anyway.  The swimmers that get in deep may only be a small amount but it contains millions.  The rest may have come out during motion.  Certain positions are more effective than others. I was told that you want to avoid being on top of your DH, that position for some reason doesn't allow for swimmers to flow up properly to the target.  
After you db, you only need to lay down for 10 minutes.  After I got the IUI today they told me to lay there for 10 minutes.  Don't take any really hot showers or baths for the next couple of days after db or procedure.  I would also avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, etc. Don't drink caffeine, take ibuprofin, no tofu, no alcohol, no smoking.  Also after my iui today, my hubby and I need to db tonight and tomorrow night to get more swimmers in there.  We need as much opportunity during my time of O as we can get.  Anyway, I hope this helps.   *****baby dust***

DON'T TEST!!!  You will only get a BFN or a false BFP caused by the stims.
Wait until at least 11dpiui, you should get a faint line by 12dpiui.

Obviously, if on 12dpiui you are feeling AF symptoms, the you are probably not pregnant.
On my last iui, by 12piui I had no AF symptoms (headache, cramps, tired) and got the faint line on my hpt.  

If you test today, you will be depressed all weekend.  Just try to take your mind off of all this stuff.  Today I am 1dpiui, and feeling good.   ****baby dust****

Well I am going to start posting more symptoms after iui.

I am 1dpiui :
This morning I felt great.  Then at lunchtime just before my food arrived, I had a wave of nausea.  The food was sitting in front of me and I almost could not eat it at all.  Once I started eating though, I was ok.  I just felt kind of crampy (its about 3:20pm) and my boobs feel slightly sore if I press them.  

That's it so far.  My husband thinks I'm pregnant.  We'll see.........

Hi ladies, I would like to join you group. I am 4dpiui and I didn't have any drugs but the doctor thought I might have blockages because he couldn't get the catheter all the way in my uterus, just half way.but i am having back pain, my boobs hurt some and I feel nausea sometimes but I thought that was in my head. Also my midsection feels full and I feel pains like stretching I guess u could say and today I started having clear discharge. And don't think I'm crazy but I went to the dollar tree and bought 10 pregnancy tests so I can test once a day. I know they won't show positive but it helps me get it out of system.lol so what do you think

DON"T DO HPT....... THEY ARE EVIL...... I know it is VERY DIFFICULT, an almost impossible thing to do but WAIT for your blood test!!!!!  I say that to me as well since I have done HPT and they are so bad... sort of positive and then negative!!!

So I'm 2dpiui.  I feel good, was up early this morning.  My back was sore last nights, had to use the heating pad.  Other than that, no major symptoms.  
I'll update later if there is anything to report.  
To Liv2930:  don't bother testing, you are wasting your time. Just go for a long walk or read a book, try to have a nice weekend and wait till next weekend to test.

2dpiui, was sooooooooooooooo tired today.  Had to go to supermarket and was so exhausted.  Finally lying down but having family over so had to prepare food and everything!  I did have some little cramping, a little back pain and stretch pains in my abdomen today, but other than that I'm ok.  Looking forward to a low key evening. I feel good, nothing different is happening, I feel like I'm reading into things to much. I know this is too much info but I'm going to say it anyway, I am discharging clear and I do this like the week of my period and I am doing it now, and still having lower back pain and stretching in my abdomen, I just don't know what's going on. This process is making me question everything. I know I just need to keep faith I GOD and it will be fine.

      I did an ultrasound yesterday but my follicles were not big enough so they asked me to go today and I had three 20 and one 21 in size. I'm feeling better, hopefully they have eggs inside right. I have a frozen embryo that I will use as well. Thord IVF attempt. So hopefully they will do 4 embryos and one should be good, right?... come on.... sweet embryos: " You need to IMPLANT OK!!!"
I need to wait for the doctor's call but I think retreival shoild be Tuesday..

3dpiui:  well its about 5pm and i have been passed out cold most of the day.  I am so tired!!!!  Slept until 8:30 am then went back to bed aroun 10am and slept until 1:30 and was dead tired. Threw myself in the shower again and drank a coke to wake up. Now I am just lying down watching tv.  Liv2930 I feel a lot like how you feel.  Guess we'll just have to wait another week or so. ********baby dust to you********

Hi everyone, I was hoping to join the train as well!

I just started my second round of Follistem and Ovidril.  Before that, I did a bunch of rounds of Clomid with no success.  I will probably have my IUI in 7 or 8 days.  This will be my fifth one.  I am feeling so frustrated!

BFN this morning at 10dpiui. I told myself it was too early...just testing to make sure trigger is gone, right? Ha. I could be testing in the middle of AF and I would still be upset when there's no second line.

I don't think it's going to happen for us...ever. My husband wants to try try try again!

I had a breakdown at church this morning...babies and pregnant ppl everywhere...I just don't understand what is wrong... Why am I not worthy?

To top it off, my head AND neck hurt 24/7. My daughter and step-son will be gone at Christmas this year (depressing reminder that we are child-less together).

I have a Marine Corps ball to go to next weekend in Las Vegas. I get to sit at the HEAD TABLE with the XO and the CO - sounds fabulous, right? NO...it's not. My dress is purple and I'm overweight and miserable. "A HUGE PURPLE PEOPLE EATER WALKS IN AND SITS AT THE HEAD TABLE AND DEVOURS THE TOP BRASS! FILM AT 11."

I will have this cycle's failure reminder every time I go to the restroom. I would get drunk and drown my misery...but I'm afraid I'll humiliate myself...further... in front of my husband's men. (HA!)

Oh NO!! I am so sorry! I am former military and I tried to get out of all those ball things (even when I was skinny!) - hate them! I also had a nervous breakdown yesterday - lost my S*** on my hubby because of hs stupid family again. UGH!!! I mean, I lost t - screaming and crying and throwng dish towels (I was in the kitchen), refused to eat the dinner I JUST cooked! I lost it! Hubby stands there starng at me and then SMILES and says "Hey, you had a breakdown, you must be preggo!". He says ths because before everytime I found out I was pregnant (twice now) I have lost my mind the night before and wigged out on him (the second pregnancy) and my ex (the first). So, who knows. I think I just lost it! Hang in there girly!  know how you feel. I hate seeing BFN!!! UGH! Alright - have to go to work with my big ol' OHSS abdomen, looking all fat and giant! HAHA!!

Good grief!  Look, the best thing to do is take a deep breath, relax and wait a couple of days and then test again.  The worst is that its a bfn which you already know, at best the faint line that you couldn't see yesterday will reveal itself and then you can celebrate.  You are totally worthy of children,  look at Halle Berry, she got pregnant on iui with her second child and was just shy of 43!!!  

Try to remember that all the drugs you took also affect your mood.  So try not to subject yourself to a lot of stimulation (crowds, church, parties, family gatherings, etc.) just pull the old "have a headache" routine.  I stayed in the house all day long yesterday!  Felt great!!!

As far as gaining weight ---- you are trying to get pregnant!  You are eventually going to gain weight!!!!  Just remember what made you and your hubby the happiest and why you got married, try to think of all the things that you do have....like good health!
Hang in there, you'll be ok!    Stick with this board, its great to have your medhelp buddies to talk to, no one understands how you feel better than us!

Hi ladies,

I had my transfer on Saturday, Nov. 7th instead of Friday. The embryologist wanted the transfer on day 6 because the embies were dividing so good. She even gave me a picture of the 2 embies and you can see them dividing:-)...I will post it later on. I am now 2 days post transfer (or should I count Saturday?..not sure). I had 2 beautiful embies transferred. Not having much cramping and not feeling much different just a little bloated. With my last failed IVF it was so different, I had a lot of cramping and the progesterone made my face break out. This go round, very little cramping and the progesterone didn't do any damage to face..LOL. So I am officially in my TWW and not really stressing over it, surprisingly. Blood work is scheduled for Nov. 19th, but rest assure, I will be taking a HPT on Friday, if not sooner:-) ...Have anyone ever heard of a day 6 transfer? I always heard of day 5 but I guess it is a good thing.

I had my first IUI on Saturday, November 14 so you ladies are ahead of me, but I could use as much information and support as you can throw at me. We are trying to stay cautiously optimistic. I hope everyone has a BFP at the end of all of this. (Still trying to catch all the abbreviations).

Ok everyone, my iui failed and I got af 12dpiui so now I'm gonna have the hsg test done on Friday and we will see what the doctor says. I found out that my tubes might be blocked while he ws doing the iui so I'm not suprised it didn't work. But I'm not going to quit, I will keep going. So has anyone had an hsg before

I want to jump on too... We've been TTC for almost 2 years... 2nd IUI and crossing our fingers!!!    I'm 7 dpiui and HOPEFUL !!!     Am I crampy or is it in my head???   I HATE THIS!!!!!!

I have had an HSG before.  Basically, they shoot a dye through a tube into your tubes to make sure that they are open.  You can watch on the tv screen as they do it and you will see the dye going into each of the tubes.  Make sure to take a large dose of ibuprofen or something similar before you go.  The dye causes a lot of cramping and it can be pretty uncomfortable.  Also, you'll need a pad for afterwards because the dye leaks out throughout the day and it is bright red.  Hope this helps!

I had my fifth IUI two days ago.  I really hope it works this time!  Has anyone else been having stomach issues while taking the Follistem?  I have been having a lot of problems with cramps and constipation ever since I started taking it.

Ok, I only had my IUI four days ago and today I started to have some red spotting.  Do you think this is normal?  It is at least a week early for me to have my period already.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!  Haven't heard from my friends in awhile.. how's everyone doing?  My BBs are HUGE and sore... I am taking endometrin, but that was infact making htem sore, now they are swollen!! Dollar Store HPT gave me a faint line... blood test tomorrow at 7:15 .. UGH right near the shopping nucleus  on Black Friday!!  I'm worried because the line is quite faint... hoping to get quantittive info tomorrow :)  Good luck to all and i have everything crossed !!!
