New to Clomid

This is my first post on this site and I have a few questions. I am starting 50mg of Clomid tonight and I am suppose to take it on cycle days 5-9. Any side effects I should look for? I hear its better to take it at night which is what I plan to do, any info on this? Also I am looking for a cycle buddy... thanks.

I am a day away from starting clomid days 3-7 (Monday night) so we are basically on the same cycle for clomid. Prepare the hubby for moodiness. I didn't have too many side effects with 50 mg, but this cycle I am up to 100 mg, so it maybe different.

The only real side effect that I had was HOT flashes! I took Clomid(100) for one cycle. Days 5-9 and I am currently 14 wks preggo. Clomid does work. Good luck to you!

Thank you Amandacole & Mareski for the information. How long have you been trying to conceive Mareski? I have 2 boys that are 12 & 13 and I have been trying off and on for about 10 years. I recently went to my gyno and he told me I have endometriosis and that could be the reason I have not be able to get pregnant. Congrats Amandacole!!! Its great to hear sucess stories :)  Really gives me hope!!

Hi and welcome, with the 50mg dose i only had hot flashes with the 100mg and 150mg i had horrible mood swings, hot flashes, weight gain and blurry spots in my vision.  but all my syptoms (symptoms) went away within a week of the last pill.  I have done 5 round so far without success.  but i have pcos according to my doc severe pcos.  two of my friends got pregnant on clomid one first round the other on the second round.  The side effects all depend on how hormones effect you, i am very sensitive to hormones, most likely you will have a much better experience than me.  good luck i hope it works for you!

I took my last pill yesterday and start baby making tonight!!!  The only really bad thing was the hot flashes! And yesterday I was ready to rip someone's face off... LOL but it's good today :)  Good luck and keep us posted!!

I also had clomid night time didn't get bad side effects but moodiness was the bad part. tell hubby to handle your silly talks to get a baby:)

We've been trying since last June, but it wasn't until this past April that we started to do something about it. Went for all the tests and started on provera and then clomid. This is our third round with clomid.

Thanks for all the comments!! Very helpful. Last night I didnt notice much after I took the Clomid but tonight I took it and my stomach is upset. When I was young I had two children and tried a few years later for another with no luck. Doctors are not sure why, but I did have a problem w/ ovulation a few years ago. Now my kids are 12 and 13 and I am remarried and he does not have kids so we have been trying for about 6 mnts w/ no luck. I was having pretty bad periods so I went to my gyno. He said I have endometriosis and that could be why we are having problems conceiving and he put me on Clomid. Did it cause any of you to sweat at night? Good luck to all of you!!!!

Yes! I just started last month, today is my first day of my second month and i get hot flashes all the time. Right up to AF i was getting them and i actually thought that i had caught some sort of virus or something until i checked out the side effects of clomid and sure enough, that's one of them.
I also get headaches which i never had before and when i was ovulating last month i had more pain than usual.

I took my second pill last night and didnt notice the night sweats...but I was really tired so I may not have woke up like usual. And so far I have not noticed the mood swings that many report. What dose are you on? How long have you been trying to conceive?

I'M ON MY SECOND MONTH OF CLOMID. I HAD MAJOR HOT FLASHES!!! I MEAN KICKING THE COVER OFF AT NIGHT!!!  I REALLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY MOOD SWINGS, JUST FLASHES!!

My CM gets effected with clomid so we use pre seed when we need to BD. 3rd month on clomid so im hoping 3rd time is the charm.  anyone else in the 2ww with clomid?

I'm on 50mg again this month (2nd month on it) and doing from day 3 to 7.
Last month i had 2 nice big follicles (one on each ovary) but i also had a real nice yeast infection :-(

Oh and i've been ttc since march '09. I conceived a beautiful little angel that's no longer with us on january 16th at 28 weeks and she had come in a flash but this time around we seem to have to work a bit harder at it unfortunately.

Hello, I took my 1st round of chlomid from 12th - 16th august, I was more emotional than moody and easily aggitated and also burning up. I am due to go for blood test on tues 2nd sep day 21 to see if ovulated. The last few days I've had crampy feelings and a little sickly. I haven't had periods for 3 yrs as they didn't come back after stopping pill. Does any1 know what day approx I should get period if I've ovulated and also when a 1st pregnancy test should be taken? Hope your last few days of chlomid are going ok with no more side effects

Where do I begin to start to talk to about side effects of Clomid.. (Pls don't get discouraged through!!)
I was just fine the 5days I was on the pill and I was like what are these people talking about.. i have no side effects.. Little did I know this stuff starts working a week or 2 later.

1. Head aches- ( I usually have migraines, so may be it's just me)
2. Mood swings (crying for no reason, hating your partner for no reason - cos he is the closest victim) - and trust me I am usually a very happy-go- lucky person.
But this gave me an excuse to bark at people. ha ha!!
3. tender breasts- I had to wear my bra 24hrs a day cos it hurt when I walk.
4. First cycle on Clomid I had constipation, but didn't notice any thing on the 2nd cycle.

But now for the good stuff.. I hear  it drastically increases your chances of getting pregnent so I am happy to go through all the above.

Thanks for all the replys...Saz1983 good luck hope all goes well. Ladybugbc...I didnt realize there were more side effects after the med, not looking forward to that. I think I may of had a touch of the flu when I started Clomid on Sunday because I didnt feel well the first two days I took it but I am feeling fine and sleeping better, finally. I also had a death in the family and my children and I started school again Monday...so I think w/ a combo of all these factors it ran my body down (I hope). I am feeling much better today...like a new person who actually wants to get out of bed YEAH!! My prayers are w/ all of you, thanks again!

I got a 2ww ttc forum when you are ready to post there i am dieing to talk to someone in the same boat as me. I AM GOING CRAZY I TELL YA. sooo look me up for symptoms and what not and im sure you all can use it too for when you get there.  baby dust girls. *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

This is my 3rd month of clomid, and the hot flashes have been going on for over a week now..... bad!!!! I have a endometriosis cyst, so I may have to skip next cycle and possible have a surgery, but hopefully not. If I can proceed next month, I will be boosted to 100mg of clomid, what will my hot flashes do then?? We have been trying since December....... still hopeful!
