My doc did ask me to reduce my weight, and to eat food with low GI. But she never said she will not treat me unless i reduce my weight. She has given me clomid 100 mg, and from cd 1 I was dieting like anything. Coz for PCOS girls insulin creates problem, and affects follicle growth. The first 15 days of my cycle i was surviving on fruits and juices, all organic food. And the scan did reveal that my follicles grew.
So do reduce your weight and parallely have clomid too.
Big thing of "COULD" get pregnant! also did he mention that a pregnancy could right pcos? so why when you have a mc did it not go away. I have PCOS and I watched what I ate and excerised moderately but I also wanted my bub and the doc saw that and placed me on clomid...surprise surprise I was loosing weight but it was making no difference to my ovulation with the clomid. I tried the tablets 3 months and then went onto injections. Feel pregnant on the 2nd round of injections but got to 9 weeks and mc...I had lost nearly 15 kilos (not really needing to loose that much but I was so sick with ms). Once again after I had the dnc I still found I had the pcos.... Everybody is different with how pcos is affecting them! I went on another 2 rounds of very difficult injections and got pregnant and am 17wks today and everything is fine! I actually gained weight due to the fertility drugs in the end and have a friend that gained weight on the tablets too. There are no guarantees what is guna work for you, the doc could only suggest and altho weight loss is great advise, I dont see why you could start treatment to get the ball rolling and not waste more pregnancy time...lol but I was a little impatient after nearly 3yrs of trying and 10months working on different fertility treatment! hang in there!
Your doctors seems to not know much about PCOS in my opinion. First of all if you are only 5 KG overweight, that is really not much at all. Second, I have never been overweight and I don't Ovulate on my own because of PCOS. I tried naturally for 5 months and only ovulated once during that time. So tell your doctor that he may want to get his info straight before giving you such idiotic info. Everyone is different, but I would say that you should take clomid, because overweight or not, ovulation happens rarely in people with PCOS without any medication.
Thank you for your answers, actualy he focused on my weight coz I told him that I gained weight in a very short time, I was 48 I jumped to 58 in one year.about the PCOS I was told that its very mild and so its not moderate neither severe, I do get my period every month but not like other normal women (28 days), I get it every 35d, so what Iam going to do is to focus on my diet and wait for 2 month than go to clomid!
so wish my luck
