I have pcos and hypothyroidism....so I don't ovulate. This month I was put on clomid and ovidrel...I took my ovidrel shot about 55 hours ago...and I had 5 mature follciles...did I definately ovulate then because ovidrel is suppose to make you ovulate within 26 to 48 hrs??? I'm just so sick of trying to have a baby especially when they keep telling me I didn't ovulate..I just want to know I;m ovulating. Can anyone help?

I am pretty sure you ovulated with the ovidrel.

I haven't use the clomid and ovidrel.

Do you use OPK to see if you have LH surge?   After you have +OPKs, your dr. might inject you novarel to help mature eggs release.  We might have mature follicles but when are they burst to release the eggs.

on Monday my dr did sonogram on me and found alot of mature follicles and yesterday my dr gave me novarel to help follicles release mature eggs.  i am crossing my finger as well.

good luck to you.

ovidrel is the same thing...it matures the eggs and releases them.  I have never heard of it not working.  It is basically an artificial LH surge.  I am pretty sure if the follicles are there they will be released.  I used ovidrel with femara (similar to clomid) and got pregnant on the first cycle.

Oh, and you have to be careful with pcos too since you can have many follicles (I have pcos too).  You don't really want to end up with sextuplets or anything so make sure your docs are monitoring!  Best of luck!

Thanks so much...and since I had 5 mature follicles my husband and I decided to have intercourse instead of iui because the docotor said i would have to reduce if i got pregnant with more than 3...and i really don't want to do that. Actually I don't even want to think about reducing..i'm not even pregnant yet..geez.

I have PCOS too and even on 2000mg of Metformin a day never released the eggs, turned into cysts. I also have endometriosis too though.  I've never taken the ovidrel, but best of luck with it. We have to go straight for the ivf.
