My body is really weird. I have PCOS and don't ovulate at all. I was on follistm shots but there were too many eggs and they had to cancel the cycle. I am now on clomid 50 mg and I am on cycle day 28. I had some ultrasounds done to see if my eggs were getting bigger and they weren't so I was planning on starting clomid again but 100 mg this time. They were going to give me medicine to give me my period but I just had bloodwork and they said that my progesterone levels were high so that means that I did ovulate. Is this possible? Could I be pregnant? It has been 4 days and I still haven't had my period but don't have any symptoms of being pregnant. What do you think????
Thanks!
I have PCOS too and also don't ovulate on my own so I know just how badly it does mess with your body. I think that it is possible that you might be pregnant but I just don't know how probable that is. I know that my doctor would go ahead and so an IUI on me for the past two and half weeks because my folliclesFollicle development Follicle stimulating hormone Follicle stimulating hormone-ganirilex Fsh Hair follicle Hair follicle anatomy Hair follicle sebaceous gland were also too small and they had to wait and give me more meds. but my progesteron levels were also very low and you said yours were actually pretty high indicating that you had actually ovulated. So I would think that would mean that it is possible that you could be pregnant. There again, I'm not a doctor :) As "off" as our bodies are with this PCOS I really think that the only way you're going to know for sure what's going on is to call and schedule to have a test done with your doctor just to make sure. I hate PCOS. Good Luck!!!!!!
Hi Missy I have PCOS as well and I cant begin to tell you how much it ***** when your ttc... I am waiting to start my 2nd round of clomid as soon as I get my cycle.. Dr had me last month on 50mg of clomid from day 3-7 and this month he pushed me up to 100mg. Hopefully the mood swings won't be as bad or worse than last month... Last month on 50 mg I did not ovulate at all (my basal temp) stayed in the low 97's so he just gave me a higher dose, didnt give me an ultrasound nor did he run any bloodwork..... I really trust my doctor but i am getting a little nervous when I read everyone getting bloodwork everymonth and getting ultrasounds as well..... I hope this works for me since I let this pcos run for so long without being diagnosed and now all I want is to start my family.... When do you start your 2nd round of clomid???
Hi! I was on 50 mg as well this past month and I had an ultrasound done and my follicles weren't growing at all. The doctor said that the medicine didn't work. Then I got bloodwork done on Friday and my progesterone was high which means that I did ovulate. I don't get it. I didn't have any symptoms of ovulating or anything. I was supposed to start my second round last weekend because they were going to give me medicine to make me get my period but now they said that I should get my period on my own because I ovulated. So right now I am just waiting to either get my period or hopefully be pregnant. I'm on cycle day 31 becauseI didn't ovulate until cycle day 26 which is way late. So, I don't know what that means. Everybody and their Mom is pregnant. It is sooo hard right now. I have had PCOS for a long time now too. I completely understand. Were you on birth control up till now. My doctor said that it helps the cysts stay small. You may want to talk to your doctor and ask him to give you bloodwork and ultrasounds. It helps you to track what is going on. Are you going to a Fertility specialist?
Yeah, the Clomid makes me suepr moody. I feel like I should be walking around with a broomstick every time I'm on it and then I just get depressed :( Hang in there once it's out of your system you'll start feeling a LOT better. You just have to hang on. Easier said than done I know.
Well after this round of 100mg of clomids if I dont ovulate or if something does not change then I will ask him to do both bloodwork and ultrasounds. I had 2 days on cd24 that it was higher than all the others but the doctor said no ovulation occured that it has to be 3 or more days of temps over 98... Are you doing basal temps on clomid? Well I was off and on birthcontrol since i was 16 since I have been going through this for so many years... and of course now..... we want to start a family so all of my concern is aimd toward this entire pcos junk.... I just finished my provera yesterday so i am just waiting... I am not yet with a fertility specialist my OB/ WHO IS GREAT. Said he will monitor me on clomid for no more than 6 months and if nothing happens then I will have to go to a specialist, he is very calm and thinks this is going to work for me.... So in turn he keeps me calms for the most part until the hormones get the best of me, My poor fiancee had to deal with so many ups and downs last month that Im not sure how he didnt loose his mind. Even when I do have a cycle I dont PMS so he lives in a very happy world with me and not dealing with monthly PMS.... But last month made up for all the years of not having PMS....lol... If I was on birth control I get my period every 28 days like normal,., Once I get off my body goes nuts and I can go months and months with nothing.... Sometimes its the opposite 3-4 months straight with no problems... How about you? Im so worried about that since you see all these posts of women with pcos but they all have monthly cycles some 31, 36 or longer and *I can go 90-120 days like nothing....
I also have PCOS and my husband and I are trying to conceive. My Dr but me on Metformin about a month ago. Still I have not had any signs of ovulating. Has anyone had experience with Metformin? Do you know how long it is supose to take before it starts to make a difference? I see all my neices and nephews running around and it makes me want my own so badly. Will Metformin help put on the right track?
