Pregnancy after Fibroid surgery

by Cid32, Aug 25, 2008 01:18PM
How many cycles after surgery dos it take to get normal. I still have clotting and it's been three months. I also want to try to get pregnant now and I wonder what is the best plan? Should I do the ovulation tests or go straight to looking in IUI's?

This discussion is related to conception after fibroid removal.

I had a fibroid removed June 25th of this year and my cycle wasn't messed up at all. My RE did say that some people dont get regular for 2 months. I know everyones cycles are different. We have male infertility so were doing our first IUI next month. My RE did tell me I could start TTC when I felt able. Good luck :)

Hello! i just had a question about all of this.. i might have a fibroid, though i think it is small (will find out more in a couple of weeks) how big were yalls fibroids when you had them removed? what type of surgery do they do to remove them? lap? transvag? etc?  is it supposed to increase the chances of successful pregnancy and conception? thank you so much and good luck to yall! : )

My fibroid was taking up my entire uterus from side to side. The only part of my uterus that wasn't taken up was the lower part. I had a laproscopic myomectomy. My fibroid was inside my uterus. My RE said this had nothing to do with not being able to get pregnant. I really dont see how it had nothing to do with it thought when it was taking up almost my entire uterus. Do you know where your fibroid is if you have one? I'm happy I had it removed. TMI info but...My periods and sex are less painful. So, I'm happy it's gone :)
