Side effects of Clomid

I had determined that if I got a prescription for Clomid I'd have a darn good chance of conceiving, but now...I was reading one of the posts and it was talking about Clomid causing weight gain, and acne.  I've also heard it causes hot flashes.  My question: What side effects have you had with Clomid?  Was it worth it, or do you think you had another easier alternative?  If you had an alernative what was it?

Im on Clomid because Im not ovulating for some reason.  I finished my last pill about 11 days ago.  I did have some side effects but not to bad.  My breats hurt a lot though.  That was the worst of it.  I also did have a couple nights where I woke up feeling hot.  And there were 2 days that I had nausea in the morning.

I have not ovulated yet.  So I think I may need to be moved up to a higher dosage, but hopefully it will work the next time around.  If it gets us pregnant, who cares about the side effects.  Most likely we will get the same symptoms when we do conceive.  So I will just get used to it now, but I do reccomend the pill.  So give it a try.  I sidh you the best of luck.  Babydust!!!!

Don't let other posts discourage you...everyone's body is different.  Clomid will hopefully make you ovulate.  Remember that just because you ovulate, that doesn't guarantee you a pregnancy that month. As far as side effects go, my biggest problem is headaches.  I had SEVERE headaches.  The hot flashes aren't too fun either but don't compare to how painful my headaches are.  I didn't have any weight gain or acne though.  Good luck!!

I took Clomid for six cycles and I developed numerous fillicles with each cycle.. which was great... exactly what I wanted.  But After 4 cycles having an ultasound to measure my endometrium liner and the number of follicles... I found that it was thinning my endometrium liner.   If that's too thin, there can be no implantation.  

Be casreful, I am so angry that I was not removed from this drug after the second u/s showed my liner was too thin.   I should have been moved onto another drug.  I wasted two months.

I had some other minor side effects.. hot flashes, I did not get any acne but the drug made me very content.  I was happy while I was on it.  

It's a good drug.   Cheap and effective, just have them measure your liner to make sure you are OK.  I had the progesterone checked EVERY MONTH and it was awesome... but nothing happened.  It's probabaly because my liner was too thin.

I have PCOS and that caused weight gain and acne.

I recently lost thirty pounds and the acne cleared up. The clomid hasn't made me gain wait or have acne again. It does make me horrible irritable.

This month will be my fourth cycle of clomid and my third different time to take it over five years.

They said it should be about 9 or 10.  I was only a 5 for FOUR cycles and NO ONE said anything until I brought it up.   I was really upset because I lost two months using Clomid when I should have moved to another drug.

I am on Clomid for the first time and I have had minor hot flashes (not too bad) and a small headach (again not to bad). I have had no weight gain and I have actually have eaten less on it. I am trying to remain hopeful but reading somany post with women that don't get pregnant on it is a little discouraging.

I also havd PCOS and I used clomid for two cycle so far and both time I got pregnent,however, the 1st is chemical pregnancy and 2nd one M/C I'm waiting to have the D&C scheduled.  

The 1st cycle I did not feel anything and 2nd cycle I had bad hot flashes.  It keep me up at night.  As for acne, I'm not sure if i got it from clomid or promitrium.
