Surgery tomrw, I'm scared

by bella537, Oct 21, 2007 05:13PM
I know I've had two laparoscopies before but this time they're actually removing the left tube. I don't know why but I'm really scared to go into this one even though it may increase my chances of success with ivf.  I guess I'm just not looking forward to the recovery process and stuff. My AF showed up late after 2 days of spotting so i thought we'd have to cancel the surgery but it came just in time. After surgery, if it goes well, we have a 2 1/2 hr drive to get home tomorrow night. I'm just really nervous and needed to vent...sorry

Thank you so much! I'm freaking out tonight with nervousness.  My 1st wasn't too bad or painful, the 2nd was bad though, they repaired left tube and it hurt a lot. I'm hoping since they're just completely removing it, that it won't hurt quite as bad as last time.  Wishing you great results for your surgery as well and hoping for the best!!!

Your surgery will be just fine. I know it's scary to go in and have it. Just think it will increase your chances later for that BFP!  I had to get surgery in June to get rid of scar tissue and I finally conceived in Sept!!! But I'll tell you I was scared, but it ended up working out for the best and couldn't be happier! You'll do great and your recovery shouldn't be too bad at all. I had my left tube removed a couple of years back with laproscopic surgery and I was on my feet in a couple of days.

Can I ask why they are taking your tube? Do you still have your other one? I thought with IVF they go in and retrieve the eggs?? Am I wrong? Then don't they implant the embryo in your uterus?

I wish you the BEST of luck during your surgery.  I hope your recovery goes well too.

How was your surgery?  Are you feeling OK?  I hope the drive home wasn't too painful.
