Unusual period after Clomid and Cysts

I had taken Clomid for 2 cycles when 2 cysts were discovered. I couldn't do anything for this last cycle as I am waiting for the cysts to shrink. This month my period was 4 days late (had been 2 days late first Clomid month and 1 week late on second) it was very light and lasted 1 day. Now 5 days later I am bleeding again, this time small clots. Is this caused by the Cysts (which have shrunk) or has Clomid permanently affected my period?

So sorry about the cysts.  I took clomid 3 times and after my last cycle I also developed a cyst.  I am on b/c right now hoping that it will go away.

For me clomid extended my LP all 3 cycles that I took it so your late period may be unrelated to your cysts and just clomid doing its thing.  Also, all of my periods after clomid were shorter but very heavy.  This cycle I started bleeding in the middle, about cd12 and had some breakthrough bleeding/spotting for about 10 days.  It finally stopped few days ago so I hope that the cyst is shrinking.  Bleeding is not uncommon with cysts.  Also, clomid gives rise to corpus luteum cysts that produce estrogen that may also affect your period.

I hope your cysts go away and you can ttc again soon.

Thank you Helen,
I had hoped that not taking Clomid this cycle would bring things back to normal, I guessI may have to wait a bit longer. I actually had 3 cysts, which kept growing, but are now shrinking down by themselves, so hopefully next month will be back to ttc!
I hope your cyst shrinks up soon, taking b/c whilst ttc seems so unfair!
