Update on ultrasound

by Jenny5, Sep 08, 2007 09:59AM
Hi. Yesterday i was at my doctors office for a sonogram. This is my second pregnancy after miscarriage the first one around 7 weeks. Three days ago i started spotting brown and i was so scared that i was gonna miscarri again. We saw on the ultr. a small sac and my doctor called me today with the hcg result with a level of 2600 Is this a good level for almost 4 weeks? I'm scared cause the sac was to small. My doctor said that it is still early and that the brown spotting is old blood. As long the beta goes up we are ok. He wants to see next week. Also he put me on progesterone suppositories. I'm so scared I really want this baby so bad.

If you mean 4 weeks since the first day of your last period, 2600 is really high.  I don't know what a high HCG means.  But if you mean 4 weeks since you ovulated, 2600 sounds about right.  You really need more than one test, so you know at what rate it is increasing.  Typically at 4wks since the first day of your last period, the hcg should be around 100.  From there it should double ever 48 to 72 hours.

My progesterone was dropping, so they put me on suppositories at 6wks.  I'm 14wk4d now so everything has worked out great.

Best of luck to you.

I'm 4 weeks since i ovulated, my doctor counts the days since the trigger shot which i did on August 12. Tomorrow September 9 is gonna be exactly 4 weeks since the shot

Well, congrats then.. it looks like you are right on target!!!  :)  In my experience, I usually o'ed about 36 hours after trigger shot, so that would put you at about 5wk4d pg (from last AF), so your number looks really good!!  Looks like you did it!!

If it is just a progesterone issue, the suppositories should correct it.. Best of luck to you!!  Please keep us posted on your progress.

Happy PG!!

I wanted to add one more comment.  Some people ovulate (even with trigger) and implant later than others, and that could also cause the sac to be a little smaller than expected.  Hang in there... expect the best this time around!!  :)
