What are the chances you release a good, viable egg?

Hi guys. I just came from the doctor and I have one mature follicle measuring at 20mm. He said a couple of more days until my surge and then we will do my first iui. I can't help but be disappointed that i only have one follicle while being on clomid. He has not shown any concern. I guess it's okay. My husbands SA was more than okay. My question is...even though you have a mature follicle..isn't there a chance that the egg that is released from the follicle won't be a viable egg allowing fertilization? Is this why they say iui on the first shot isn't likely?

I did IUI this month with clomid+HCG. I have done clomid for 6 cycles already and usually only have 1 or 2 dominant folicles. This month i had two 22 and 23 mm - had HCG and then IUI the next day followed by DTD 12 hrs later.

The last time I did clomid, my second cycle only produced on mature follicle and one other follicle that was a little under (17 mm I think), and I ended up getting pregnant with twins!
