When to take Clomid

Here is my situation.  I had two Miscarraiges this year, one in February and one in June.  I had to have a D&C for the second one.  My infertility endocrinologist told me that I had a low progesterone problem.  My first MC my progesterone read 1.3 and my second it was 11.  I was taking progesterone pills, inj, and vag suppositories for the second one, but we don't think we caught my pregnancy in time.  Anyway, I have started taking clomid to help out in ttc.  I was told to take it on days 5-9 and that i was to have intercourse on days 10, 12, 14 and 16.  This sounds logical for a person with a regular period that starts on day 28 but mine starts on day 31-33.  Dosen't this mean I ovulate at a later time or does the clomid make me ovulate earlier.  Just curious.  Thanks.

well to be accurate you can either start charting bbt's or start opk's. (opk's take less work in my opinion) i too have 32 day cycles and i always have ovulated on day 18. i took clomid days 5-9 and was told the most important days to bd are the two following a pos opk. hope to help a little...good luck and baby dust to you!

by the way were you started on progesterone beggining right after ovulation or when you had a pos on hpt? i have a history of mc too.

Hi, I'm the same days 5-9 with clomid. This is my 2nd round this month. Just O'd last night--yeah for me! Anyways I think it just works with your natural cycle because mine were 35 days prior to clomid and are 35 days now, so I "O" on day 19/20. Both cycles were identical for me. Good luck!

Hi in my case, my doc usually monitors me using scanning on day 10th. She says she can measure the follicles and if they are 12-14mm on 10th day its a positive sign that ovulation will occur in few days (with or without external injections). Well when i was on clomid 50 mg, my follicles never grew even on 10th day. Now on 100 mg, and waiting for the scan.

So it may happen that some doses of clomid - 50, 100, 150, 200 mg may not work for a particular person. To know how effective it is plz ask your doc to do some blood test or a simple scan 3 days after your last dose of clomid. With scan you usually get to know when to bd.

Or else, as written by other frends, BBT/OPK are other solutions.

PS:  i was asked to take clomid from day 3 onwards...
