Yeast while preg

by Willo630, Jan 04, 2007 12:00AM
Hey all, i'm rushing while typing this but, what do you think about having a yeast infection while pg?, i'm 5 weeks. i called my dr & he said to come in & we'll see if we can treat it, or if it is an infection. i read online that it wont affect the baby, but i'm still scared. what do you think?
i drink alot of water & cut out the breads.
its NOT overwhelming, but since i never had one, its noticable.

I know cranberry juice helps alot but I dont know if that would hurt the baby.

You can try yougart too.  It is also very normal to get yeast infections during a pregnancy.  My sis got one at the end, and they treated her for it with an oral antibiotic I think.  You can produce more discharge when pg, so then the yeast bacteria grows because of the mositure...plus your body temp is up....it loves that too.  It should be ok.

I got a yeast infection last time I was pregnant. My Dr said it doesn't affect the baby at all. So don't worry! And take care of it quickly--it gets worse and more itchy if you wait!!
