beta results came in..

by pcarsey, Sep 12, 2007 01:00PM
Ok I called the Doctors office... I couldn't help myself.. They said My Progesterone is 32.8 and my HCG is 40.71.
Now I am scared to death. By my LMP I should be 5 weeks, aren't those numbers low?.. Should I prepare for the worst again??
Thanks, Patty

No I think that's pretty decent I have a paper from my lab work I had and I think that was in the range.  I'll look and see if I can find it.....Congrats......never think negative think positive always.

Patty, I havent been here for a few days---- congrats!

Try not to worry--- did you ask the doctor about the numbers? Let me know how things are going with you:)

by kellym, Sep 12, 2007 01:11PM
18-7340 is in the normal range. Did you just speak to the nurse? Hmm, you go back tomorrow. They say the concern is not the #, but the doubling. What did they do at your appt? I go in at 4:00 ET,,,,,scared,,,,

by miky72, Sep 12, 2007 01:14PM
if they double (or at least rise by 67%) its ok.
Also your progesterone is very good!!!
When are you going back?

Brandi - Thanks but It's so hard not to think negative due to my MC in May. But I'm trying.

Holly - Thanks, where have you been.. hope things are okay! The doctor hadn't seen the results when I called, he was still at the hospital. He delivers babies on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings. So, he hasn't seen them yet.

Kelly - I just spoke to the nurse ^^^^ *read above*. I go back tomorrow for another series. I hope they double, but I was thinking that it wouldn't turn out that great if the numbers weren't that high. At my appt they took a urine test there and then just sent me in for my beta's. And told me to repeat in 48 hours. Then I go back to see my doctor Friday morning. I'm just really flippin here.

Patty-----trust me I know exactally how you're feeling.....I never did quit worrying with my last pregnancy......I don't know if you ever get get to that point.  But I think your #'s sound good.....I'm pulling hard for you.

by Tanker Chic, Sep 12, 2007 01:21PM
Typically how long are your cycles?  Are you a late ovulator?  Were you on any fertility meds? The progesterone is good, but the hcg is low,.  Usually if something is wrong the progesterone will drop also..

by kellym, Sep 12, 2007 01:23PM
Well, just relax, (yeah right) and Friday can't come soon enough. Did they take blood right there in the office? Shoot, my last dd pregnancy didn't double and I still had a perfect dd... Don't put soo much emphasis on the #'s, just take care of yourself, go in tomorrow and have a great appt. on Friday. You could of ovulated later than you thought and about a million other things :)

The others are correct, it's more important to see that the numbers are double than what the numbers are now.  So unfortunately you might be worrying until your next test.  I hope you don't worry too much and try to think positive :-)  I think you're okay with a number in the 40's though and you know I'm praying that they double for you.

Think of your little bean making him/herself at home.

Good luck!!

I just had another thought.  You were getting BFN until recently, so that would indicate that your hcg just started to rise recently.  I think that is a good sign.. that would be better than getting a BFP a week or more ago and then going in and it being 40...  Am I making any sense? It is kind of hard to express in writing..

What I'm saying is, since you just got the bfp recently, maybe you just got pg recently and the number is on its way up...

You will be in my thoughts.. good luck with the test tomorrow..

You ladies are the greatest. And Yes Hannah I just recently got my BFP, I went in Aug 29 and the beta test came back Negative and then on the 9th got a faint BFP on a FRER HPT. And on the 11 my HCG 40.71. It is sort of making sense about what you are saying. Since my MC my cycles have been messed up.

MC 5/31.. bled til 6/6
43 days later---
7/12 - 7/17
26 days later---
8/6 - 8/10

Get BFP on 9/9
beta 9/11 hcg 40.71
              prog. 32.8

See what I mean?? CONFUSING!!!!
Thanks, Patty

So really I have no idea when I ovulated or anything.. because my cycles have been that strange.

by Tanker Chic, Sep 12, 2007 03:00PM
If your cycles have been irregular, than that 40 is probably BIG'O FP (that is with my okie accent)!!  And that progesterone is a great number!!  I'm excited for you!!

I see happy posting in your future!!!

by pcarsey, Sep 12, 2007 03:06PM
Thanks Hannah,
I am going to try and keep a good thoughts about all of this. And.. I haven't had any pains around my ovary site so that's good. Thanks Again!! HUGS!!!!!
