chlamydia and fertilty

by emily23, Mar 30, 2009 06:04PM
Hi i have been trying to concieve for over 2 years now, i had also previously tried at the beginning of our relationship for 8 months but stopped due to my partner being unfaithful... we got over the affair and carried on trying for 2 more years with nothing. i recently found out i had chlamydia and got treated-i have always been faithful and my partner insists that he hasnt slept with anybody since the affair that i know about 3 years ago- so my question really is could the chlamydia have made me infertile and if it did would i have a better chance of getting pregnant now ive been treated.

i would be so so grateful for any replys

From what i know its only if you have had it so severe you develop PID (pelvic inflamatory disease) which you would most definetly know by know if you had! Other than that as long as you take the meds and get your system cleared you should be good!

I think you should have your Obgyn refer you to an RE and have a consultation with them.  They may want to do a HSG to check your tubes and uterus.  That may give you peace of mind.
Good luck
