Does anyone have insurance that did not cover this? I am looking to start clomid or femara and I have a feeling my insurance won't cover it (they only cover diagnosis and treatment of underlying cause of infertilityInfertility Infertility - resources Primary infertility). I am wondering if anyone has an estimate of the cost per month of meds, hcg, progesterone, u/s, etc. Probablu won't do IUI for awhile. Just wondering what to start saving...Thanks!!
clomid was about $25 and progesterone was covered..I think its about 60, just be sure to give your pharmacy your insurance and run just incase they do cover, they probably dont cover injectible...just like my ins.
HCG $38
My insurance covered diagnosis only, no treatment. So clomid was cheap.. like $15.00 a month. When we had to do the injectible HcG that hurt the pocketbook, it was like $104.00 and we needed that with the Clomid with IUI. That did not cover the ultrasounds my doc ordered which ran about $500 per month. The actual IUI cost $310.00 for insemniation and sperm washing. We were ready to start injectibles and the clomid cost was replaced with about $1,100.00 meds that were injected.
Thankfully we didn't need it, but those were our costs.
Start saving-- GOOD LUCK!
