I'm on my 3rd IVF:  the first one I had very bad cramping (enough that I phoned the doctor), no spotting, and it failed. The second one I had very very low-grade mild AF type cramps and no spotting, and I was pregnant (ended in miscarriage).  This time, I have barely any cramping, and if I do it is very low-grade, and no spotting, and I found out yesterday I'm pregnant.  So, no, you do not have to cramp and spot.  Good luck, when will you find out?
