giveing birth to twins

is it possible for a women to give birth to twins when her family and her husbands family have no twins in there familys?

Yes, absolutely.  There are two ways that twins can happen.  2 sperm and 2 eggs (fraternal), or 1 egg divides in 2 (identical).  Typically when there is a history of twins in a family it is because the female is producing more then 1 egg in a cycle.  Also, with the increased use of fertility treatments, twins is more common.

I'm a fraternal twin and as fas as we know there are no other twins in my family.

I had a set of faternal twins with no history in my family.  There are other factors that can influence twining.  For example; a woman's age, height, and even locale.
