hcg shot

by mm0577, Oct 12, 2009 11:47AM
has anyone taken the hcg shot and had rising progesterone levels and were still not pregnant? the reason i ask is because i took my day 21 levels and my estrogen was 314 and my prog was 16.2. i took the hcg shot and was told to go back 3 days later to see if my levels increased or decreased and they did increase. is there a good chance i may be pregnant?

Well I just went through the same thing this month, and my doctor was baffled. They were so sure that I was pregnant (my numbers were in the the 300's for estridol and 24.96 for progesterone but my hcg was less than 1)... And they had no idea what happened with me... Maybe implantation didn't go well. I don't think you can really go with the numbers, they will always go with the hcg regardless of your other numbers.

wow.. did u have to go for 2 sets a bloodwork? or just your 21 day?

You really can't go by progesterone. I have seen levels in the 80's not be pg and levels in the low teens be pg. The only way to tell for sure whether or not it is a bfp is with a pregnancy test after the Hcg shot has had time to leave the blood stream. You could very well be pg, you just can't tell from the progesterone level.
