Update on me... I did not take any meds this month (outside of Metformin), and had Laparascopic Surgery.
I went in for my follow up appointment after the Lap surgery.  Dr removed scar tissue, endo, drained a cyst, and removed something- which turned out to be nothing to worry about.
He keeps the expectations pretty low... but says we should continue on the Clomid, Trigger Shot, and IUI.  DH and I were thinking of stepping back a bit, but now with the Dr advising to move forward, we will see what the next steps are.  Just waiting for AF to come.

Hey all - I'm the girl who fainted a few weeks back.  I was hoping that was a sign of pregnancy, but AF showed up so last month didn't work.  Just wondering if anyone else is doing Clomid, then Follistim and then trigger shots and IUI.  My doctor has me starting on Clomid days 3-7 followed up by Follistim days 8-?? to help thicken my lining and develop the follicles.  He said we are doing the Clomid first to control the number of follicles we get to avoid WAY to many.  Anyone else in the same boat? Last month I had 3 good mature follicles, but no BFP :(

I'm in the same boat!  I have done 2 months in a row of clomid, follstim and ovidrill (trigger)...we had BFP both months and m/c both.  We are trying our final month in about 2 weeks...then, not sure what the plan is...Where are you in your cycle?

Does  your re have you on progestrone? You know that clomid can thin your lining which does not allow the little one to be embedded deeply...Sometimes a supplement along with the clomid will help? Good luck! Keep us posted!

I'm actually breaking this month.  My RE does a cycle with clomid, follistim, IUI and then if it doesn't work, he had me rest for a month before doing it all over again.  My ovaries were HUGE so I guess they need them to rest and recoup before starting again.  Long month though.  I definitely had troubles with a thin lining b/c of clomid, but when they used the follistim, my lining was right where it should have been and progesterone was 49 which was good too.....just no baby :(  I'm so sorry about your miscarriages....i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago before my first child and it was so rough.

Hi everyone. All interested in selling Follistim. I have been able to get great deals so I am not sure any of you will want to sell to me. It is up to you all. I can only pay $125 for a 600iu cartridge and $200 for a 900iu cartridge! Thankfully I have found some cheap but am willing to still but. I don't know how many rounds it will take to get preggo! This is my fifth round this month, but we are having "intercourse" due to the expenses. Also, only 2 follies and had a post coital showing good sperm and mucus. Well, I hope someone gets a BFP. My "sexathon" starts tonight. Of course my hubby is happy! I triggered this am, day 17 today. I have never triggered this late. Yes...forgot to mention that...I am also on vaginal progestrone support (and I absolutely HATE that part!)  Going to RE tomorrow to discuss options...I think it has to be good that with 2 tries of IUI it worked both times, I just can't keep them  So I am curious to see what he has to say....maybe some other supplement?

My HCG levels almost doubled.  They went from 49 to 92.  I need to do another HCG test on Wed. and the nurse said my levels should reach 400.  Does anyone know if this is normal to do 3 different HCG tests to check pregnancy?  I am feeling good but extremely tired.  I am having fun telling all of my family!  Good luck to all of you.  Just know that this stuff really does work but it just takes time.  You all will get your BFPs soon.  I will keep you in my prayers.

Well today I went for my first ultrasound (I am 6 weeks 2 days) and at first it was very silent.  Nurse was having a hard time finding the fetus.  Doctor stepped in and found the fetus and the heartbeat.... ABSOLUTELY refreshing and awesome.  After my molar pregnancy last yr it felt sooo good to get good news and doctor said chance of miscarriage falls from 25 percent to 4 percent after you see a heartbeat.  I will keep you all posted.  I have to make an appt with my regular ob/gyn now so I will probably have another ultrasound in like 2 weeks.  SSBD to all.  Good luck everyone!

Sorry you misunderstood, we didnt hear the heartbeat... we saw it.  The Doctor didnt know how to do the sound function on the machine but he made the line show up at the bottom where it showed each time the heart would beat.  It looked pretty good although they didnt give me a number, just said everything looks great.  Let us know how your appointment goes.  I go to my regular ob/gyn on the 11th so I am sure they will do an ultrasound also since that will be my first appt with him this pregnancy.  They have a more hi-tech machine so I am sure we will see more, plus I looked at ultrasound pics from my daughter and there was a big difference ina short amount of time.  I cant wait.

I'm nervous this time around.  We cant do meds because of the enlarged cysts on my left ovary but they want me to take ovulating tests starting tomorrow.  We're going to try back to back iui's.  I'm guessing that will fall around this weekend.  I just hope I can still get preg. with cycts.

For everyone else:  My first clue that I was pregnant was that I was extremely tired.  I usually stay up until 11 at night but now I am falling asleep by about 9 o'clock.  My bbs were also very sore (like muscle pains after working out).  But not the nipples the bbs themselves.  Good luck to everyone!  I am still praying for all of you!

Welcome to both of you this is a great supportive forum! Yes sore nips and cramping are very common after iui's so try and stay busy in the 2ww and dont become addicted to the pee sticks!

Well, haven't posted in a while. Congrats to the BFP's! You give me hope.
As for me...Finished my clomid, going for my ultrasound tomorrow to see what's going on everything is crossed hoping for those little follicles to be on the left side. My right tube is coiled and the RE will not do IUI if the follicles are are the right to risky for a tubal pregnancy. I am really hoping that this is the month, the last 2 months the follicles were on the right side so no IUI. And for some reason this month I really had a hard time on the clomid, same dose but way more side effects MAJOR headaches everyday.  So we will see u/s tomorrow at 930am.

Today I started having brown discharge and cramping.  Nurse said that it is probably just old blood.  But I am still worried about m/c.  I went for the HCG blood test again.  So I will know more tomorrow if my levels are still doubling.  Please keep me in your prayers.

Try not to worry, I know easier said than done.  The nurse is probably right.  Cramping can be normal as the sac grows and that can shake out some old blood. Please keep us posted.  I am praying for  you.

I am pretty sure now that I am m/c.  The blood is a lot and a light red color and in the urine too.  I will find out in about an hour after my blood test results are in.  Truly the worst feeling ever!  But at least I know how to get pregnant now!  Hopefully next time my body will learn how to keep the baby inside longer.

I am realllllly sorry about the m/c.  Just know this, when you have a m/c early like that its because there was something wrong and that is your body's way of fixing it.  Hopefully its not a m/c, let us know what your numbers come back at.

I'm still praying for you that it's not a m/c.  I have a friend who had LOTS of scary bleeding early on and it continued almost throughout.  She spent a lot of her pregnancy on bedrest (ugh) but in the end had a healthy baby boy.  GOOD LUCK!!!!

I just found out that I did lose the baby.  My numbers went from 92 to 29.  The nurse did say that this is a positive thing because they now know that I can get pregnant.  I am just glad that I m/c at 5 weeks and didn't get further along.  We will probably try again in the new year.  Thanks for all of the support and kind notes.  This is truly the worst thing that I have ever been through!

Well I went for my u/s this morning and I did not get good news, I had 5 follicles, but once again (3rd month in a row) they were on the right side which is coiled and I can not have any IUI's on that side due to a high risk of a tubal. I left there feeling frustrated, angry, disappointed and in tears. I am better now, I guess work is helping me keep busy and my mind off of things. I go see my  RE on 11/18 to see what the next plan of action is this was my 4th clomid cycle.

They could be checking your progesterone level.  This confirms that you did ovulate.

Well, first I want to say that I am sorry to hear about your m/c Sagebrush. I can't imagine what you are going  through.

I did want to let everybody know to stay positive, it will happen. I finally got my BFP this month after almost 2 years of trying!! I am so excited I am beside myself. I know if it can happen for me, it WILL happen for all of you. My HCG came back at 223, and I have no idea what this means, but the nurse said it was good. I am 4 weeks 2 days. Just thought I would share my news with everybody. Please stay strong and don't give up, it will happen!!

Well, lets see. I kept a calendar of my symptoms each day. So let me grab it.

Okay, 5 days after my iui/when I ovulated, I started to feel muscle like cramps. They reminded me a lot of period cramps. 6 days after iui my bbs started to get sore. By the 7th day I started having lower back pain. The cramps, sore bb's and back pain have pretty much stayed with me since. 10 days past ovulation I had the worst cramps ever! I also started to get very tired. By day 12, the cramps nearly went a way, and just became little cramps off and on. Day 15 I felt really sick (like I was going to throw up), so that is when I took my P/T. I had no implantaion bleeding.

Sorry, that is a lot of info, but I know when I was trying I was dying to get info from other women. The 2ww is awful, and you want to know what signs to look for.

Just remember that everybody is different. My girlfriend got really bad leg pain, and I have not experienced that yet. Try not to read to much into your symptoms, you will drive yourself crazy. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers!  I just keep reminding myself of how lucky I am that I was able to feel pregnant even for a short while.  It really is the most amazing feeling!  For those women who have had a miscarriage, just wondering when does the bleeding stop.  That is the worst part about all of this.  It is like a constant reminder!  Also wondering if Dr.'s can prevent another miscarriage.  Or is there nothing that I can do seems how I m/c at 5 weeks.

Well, I'm back in the 2WW.  We had the IUI this am.  DH had great numbers, I had 5 follicles between the L and R, so we're hoping that this is finally the month.  Trying to rest today and keep my mind off things until my bloodtest on 11/24.  Anyone else with me?

I am with you eclarky. I had the IUI this am too. I had 2 good follicles (one on each side), my estrogen level was close to 500 and my lining is 11mm. This was my 2nd try at iui, the first with meds. Since we did not use meds last cycle I can only assume that my numbers are better this time around. My DH has no sperm so we are using a donor and only have 1 vial left so we're praying hard for a BFP. I am also resting today as my ovaries were pretty swollen and RE had to use an extra clamp to keep them out of the way (whatever that means) Anyway, it was pretty painful and I cramped for a while afterwards. Has anyone else had this?

When you had the brown discharge was it a lot and did it stop?  Today when I wiped I had a little bit of brown (looked old) but I have absolutely no cramps and that was like 2 hours ago and now there is nothing.  Has anyone ever had this with a succesfull pregnancy?  I am really scared.  I was very stressed yesterday because we found out my husband may be getting laid off from work so I dunno if that is what brought this on or what.

I'm 8dpiui and yes the iui was very painful for me too. I have scar tissue and they couldnt get the cath in. Hopefully it will all be worth it! My dh sperm count was 80 million, I had one egg that was 23, I had my progesterone tested and it came back 20. I test on thursday.

My m/c started with brown discharge that was just when I wiped.  I called the nurse and she said that they never worry if it is a dark color.  It is probably just old blood especially if it stopped.  Mine never did.  The nurse said they only worry when it is a bright red or purple color.  By the evening my blood started changing to a red color.  Then I woke up in the AM and I bled through my panty liner.  The bleeding got heavier.  Yours sounds like it was just old blood.  I wouldn't worry about it at all.  If you are still worried ask to check HCG levels or have an u/s to check to see if the baby is okay.  My HCG levels dropped from 92 to 29 so we knew the baby wasn't going to make it.

well no more brown discharge.. only that little tiny bit that one time I wiped yesterday at 1 and nothing since.  I am sooooo nauseated though.... blah... all day sickness instead of morning sickness.  I have no cramps and I have been trying to take it easy just incase but I am pretty sure everything is ok since nothing since that time.  I may still call tomorrow and go in tomorrow instead of Tuesday for peace of mind.

I felt crampy yesterday for a while afterwards then last night I had horrible cramping but they didn't feel like menstrual-type cramps. They were kinda weird feeling. Today, I have a little cramping on and off so I'm hoping they'll be better by tomorrow. I start the progesterone suppositories on Tuesday (icky). I'm not looking forward to that because it makes me so tired and nauseous. They also make my bbs really tender which are already really sore from the follistim so I'm hoping they don't get much worse. UGH! I hate waiting!!!!!! I am really glad to have couple ttw buddies this time though. Last cycle I followed all the posts until about 3 days before I tested so it'll be really nice to talk to people who understand what I am going through. My RE gave me a hpt to take on 11/22. If it's BFP then I go in for the blood test.

I need some advice!

Is everyone on here keeping your families in the loop with your treatments? Most of our family knows that our only option is using a donor and iui but I'm kinda torn about how much tell about our progress because I don't want to be constantly hounded with being asked if I am pregnant yet. At the same time I can't avoid everyone for the entire ttw so last cycle I had a hard time explaining me being tired and nauseous. I am also nervous about people knowing so early when the risk of m/c is higher. I have a very close knit family and I hate keeping secrets from them. Help!

I know keeping things away from the family is hard especially when you want their support but I went through that the last 3 cycles of are you pregnant yet?? It drove me nuts and made me feel bad to say no...so instead of me telling people we are on a 1 month break I just told them we are taking the year off to save and get things together so I did not have the pressure (even though we will go back to iui's next month if no pg this month naturally)....and I have learned to wait to spread the pg news...the last one I had told everyone the night my hpt was bfp and 8 days later i m/c so we have decided to keep the treatment info to ourselves and when we do get our bfp we will tell everyone after the first trimester..do whats in your heart and I would tell eveyone its hard enough and when you do get your bfvp you will let them know but please stop with the questions...Good luck baby dust and sticky vibes :)

Today is my 2nd iui but with no meds except for the hcg trigger yesterday.  This will be our last month trying and i've got my fingers and toes crossed. I have to decide today if we want a back to back tomorrow.  Anyone have any thoughts on back to back iui's, if the odds realistically increase?

molson76:  We didn't tell our family for the same reason of being hounded with questions.  The wait is stressful enough w/out constant phone calls to remind you of the wait.  That's why this site is so comforting because we're all going through the same thing.

Went to the Dr. today and he did an ultrasound and everything looked great. The measurements came out perfectly and the heart was beating away.  When they did the swab thing there was bright red blood on my cervix, the Dr. said its perfectly normal with all the hormones the cervix will do that.  I have not had any more blood or discharge when wiping since that one time.  I feel a lot better now.  I go back on the 1st of December for another ultrasound I believe just to make sure everything is still ok and to make me feel better.  :O)

hoping: I had IUI's back to back the last cycle and the re said that it only increases by about 2%??? We did it anyway with no luck though...we were told to have intercourse 8 hours after iui so I guess that would keep us covered and also to have intercourse every other day after that for 5 days! Kisstin Congrats I told you you would be fine keep posting and send pics of the little peanut...we are really on a month off  DH has a severly strained back and just got out of the hospital three days ago and is on bed rest with no tension to his back for 1 week! molson76: i start my pogesterone on Wednesday and I understand how u feel. I've had them b4 but not with an IUI. I hated them too. I've had sore nipples since I started my FSH tabs and they hurt real bad. Concerning keeping things from ur family, u will only be delaying telling them what u r going thru for ur peace of mind. I come from a close knit family too and they think they are doing well but there are times you just want to be left alone and not questioned about what's going on, so think about it b4 u decide.

My DH keeps putting an ear to my belly to "listen for construction equipment" LOL. I'm praying it works this time. Just checkin in I haven't posted in a while. I have just been relaxing taking my BCP's. AF is due to visit this week...but wouldn't it be great if she didn't lol. I would so love getting a BFP knowing I was on BC pills.

It has been a while since I have written on my own progress.  I have had long cycle this month of follistim. I have PCOS and my ovaries were a little stubborn this month.  Started out great on the left, got a follie at 13 then it stayed at that size for about 6 days despite 300IU every night. Instead, a bunch more popped up.  My right ovary is being the dominant one this month and that does me no good since my right tube is completely blocked and partially removed. Well yesterday, I went to the RE again and finally my numbers jumped up.  I have 4 on each side, all ranging from 12 to 18 and my E2 was really high this month compared to last, 1704.  Has anyone had their E2 this high?  Well the RE is excited as I will grow 2mm each day until Thursday and I do my Ovidrel tonight and my IUI on Thursday morning.  So I am excited to be joining the 2ww.  I will start prometrium on Friday.  Lots of SSBD to all!

I guess thats ok since my re put us on a 30 day break since I have so many follies left over from the last cycle. They put him on a complete bed rest no muscle strain restiction and three different muscle relaxers so that makes things a little difficult to get going...lol......but we cheated last night and did the baby dance anyway(lol...tmi) but we will post after the next visit to the re which will be with my next cycle in about 12-14 days or so to see if we get the all clear...Baby Dust and Sticky Vibes to all!

all my symptons have went away. The waiting is awful! If it didn't work this month my RE is going to up my clomid dosage.I just don't think it worked this month but this was my fiirst month so we'll just have to wait and see.Good luck to ya!

This is my 2nd month doing iui and i'm 2dpiui.  We didnt use meds this time, just the ovidrel and now progesterone suppositories, what fun.  My dh has low sperm but this month it was higher.  5 million from 3 million and 80% motility from 72%.  Does anyone have any success stories from no meds?  This is our last month to try and I guess i'm a little worried.

Well I just wanted to let you all know that rather than joining the 2ww today. I am out completely.
I ended up having emergency surgery yesterday afternoon due to severe cramping on my right side that wrapped all the way around to my right kidney.
I had 8 wonderful follies, 4 on each side. However, my ovaries are too scarred from previous surgeries and cysts and neither one of them wanted to release the eggs.  
My follies were rupturing back into the ovaries rather than out and was causing a major backflood of blood and debris that was causing both ovaries to lose their blood supply.
What a shock!!!!  The doctor said I am no longer a candidate for IUI and he is not even certain that I will now be a candidate for IVF.  WTF!!! We only wanted one child.  Adoption is not necessarily an option for us as we can not afford it.
Good luck to all and please listen to your bodies, if you get pains that you think are too extreme call your doctors right away!

Destiny11 and wishandaprayer - you should be getting close to testing right? Do you have any symptoms yet?

kmcarino - you mentioned on the 8th that you would be about 4 days behind eclarky and I. Did you have your iui yet?

I am now 5dpiui and feel absolutely nothing. My bbs are sore but they have been since I ovulated so I'm thinking it's just the meds. I have been doing some reading of some other posts and websites and am thinking the weird cramping I had on Sat eve after my iui was ovulation pain. I've never had it before but maybe I did this time because of the follistim. The part that confuses me is that it wasn't on one side or the other, it was both. I'm hoping that means I ovulated on both sides but in all my reading, I found people that had the pain on one side, then the other but not both at the same time. Is this possible? Has anyone had this? The cramping almost felt like I had to go to the bathroom but yet I didn't.

Molson76 (and other 2ww-ers) I'm pretty sure the pain you had the day of IUI was from the IUI itself.  I had it too.  My DR said that it can happen b/c both sides are releasing due to the meds, but mostly it's just the intrusivness of the cathether, etc.  Like you, sore bbs are my only symptom, but I also think that's the meds.  Just trying to hang in for another week and half!

Hi!  Yes, I had my IUI yesterday morning.  We used 77 million which was AFTER the wash so it is a great numberL)  I think it is going to work this time.
After my last IUI, I was in a ton of pain which I had never felt before after my IUIs.  I was afraid of hyperstimulation, but the nurse told me it was probably ovulation.  I had a lot of big follicles so that was why.  But the pain was very bad.  I was doubled over...it hurt to move.  Getting up or sitting down really hurt too....it was awful.  It lasted two days and got better after that.  I am sure what you have experienced is ovulation pain.

I'm 4dpiui and have no symptoms.  I didnt take meds just the ovidrel so i wonder if that's why I fell nothing.  Last month I was on meds and my bbs were sore as heck. I get a cramp every so often more towards the left side but nothing unbearable.  I had bad cramps last month on both sides at the same time but the re said it was follicles releasing on both sides.  Is it normal for no symptoms because of no meds?

I'm 5dpiui and I feel almost no symptons, even the soreness in bbs are almost gone too!!
I think it was the drug that caused all those symptoms and I'm hoping all these changes are still for bfp.

This is my first time here, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one...  And it's so good to see all your "status" after iui.  I wish veryone pregnant.  

I had my first iui last Thursday and today is my 9th day. I don't have any symptoms except some vaginal discharge at night - I think it's because I'm using the Prometrium.  I cannot wait to find out if I'm pregnant.  I plan to take the test tomorrow.  Good luck to all.

This will be my fourth IUI, first after laparascopic surgery.  I really hope it works this time.

Welcome to this community, and good luck with your testing tomorrow.  Did you have a trigger shot before IUI?  If so, it could still be in your system, and could give you a false result.
I know the 2WW is hard, but I find its best to wait until at least 12 days post IUI.

I did had the trigger shot before iui, the pain was there for a few days but it's gone now.  I will just do my first test tomorrow and if I don't get a positive result, I will wait until day 14.  I will keep you all posted.

Wow. A lot of activiity going on in this forum since I last popped in. I have been on birth control this past cycle to shrink a couple of cysts. I am expecting AF any day now. It's been really nice not dealing with all the mood altering drugs. I think I've actually been rather pleasant to be around. In any event, my DH and I met someone last weekend whom we shared with him our fertility aggravations. It turns out he's some sort of "Biologically Identical Hormone" expert. He gave us a rash of sh** for using synthetic fertility drugs. Has anyone here have any experience with these types of hormones? Has anyone tried natural remedies such as Chasteberry? My RE doesn't stand behind theses kind's of things however it's sometimes difficult to know if pharmaceutical companies put patients before profits.....many don't.

Thanks everyone for keeping us in your prayers.  It hasn't been easy but the tears have finally stopped.  I felt a whole lot better when I talked to my friend who m/c after her 1st IVF cycle.  She is waiting for results for IVF #2 now.  She is also 39.  I feel that God was really looking out for me and my unborn child.  The nurse said that when you m/c at 5 weeks there were probably chromosome problems.  My baby would have had lots of problems.  Noone deserves that kind of life.  I will try again after I get AF which will be who knows when.  I have PCOS so hard to predict when AF will come without meds.  Thanks for thinking of me though it really does help me get through all of this.

Just checking in on you...Did you use a trigger shot...I know that sometimes it can take at least 10 days to get out of your systems so testing early can give you a false positive,,,keep us posted!

I am new to this and I was so excited to run across this forum. It is wonderful to know others who are going through the same thing. I am 3dpiui and am already obsessing! This is my first IUI attempt so I have my fingers crossed. I had a m/c 4 years ago did not begin trying again until about 16 months ago then m/c again in late July. I begain seeing my RE last month and this my first month of treatment we did clomid, hcg trigger then IUI.

Welcome!  I hope your first IUI works for you!  But don't be too discouraged if it doesn't since it normally takes a few cycles for it to work, but maybe you will be one of those lucky ones that gets pregnant with the first one!  I am 4 dpiui so we are on the same schedule:)  We can share symptoms and concerns with eachother.  This is my third IUI in a row and I am really hoping it works this time.  I had a successful pregnant using IUI a few years ago and have a 23 month old son.
I am really sorry to hear of your miscarriages.  That must be an awful thing to go through.  Please keep in tocu and lots of baby dust to you!  I hope we both get our bfps this cycle!

Today is 8dpiui for me, which of course means that I'm starting to second guess EVERYTHING, even though I know from my previous experience with pregnancy that I will not feel anything yet!  Aaargh....I have to make it all the way to the 24th for my hcg, since the IUI fell on a Saturday.  I'll just be happy to make it that far, since last month AF came on CD 26.  We're getting ready to move this weekend, so I've been too busy to think much, which has been a blessing.  I should really be taking it easy a little more, but life doesn't stop!  Plus, taking it easy never worked before, so I figure I'll try not worrying and see how that goes.  The possibility of this amazing Christmas present is almost to much to handle, and I bet everyone in the 2ww is feeling the same way!  When are you all testing - soon for most of you I bet!  baby Dust!

OK this ttw is driving me crazy!! On Thursday evening I started having very mild cramping on and off that sometimes felt more like pressure than cramps. I had them on and off Friday and yesterday but today nothing until a little while ago DH and I did the BD and now the cramps are back and more severe than before. I am only 8dpiui so I am thinking it's too early for AF especially since they started 3 days ago. My bbs are really sore and I am not feeling the nausea I felt the first time around with the prometrium. I'm sure the trigger shot is still in my system so I can't even test until at least Wednesday although I really want to try and hold on until Saturday which is the day my RE said to test. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this cramping?

chrissy- I got pregnant with my second IUI and I tested at 10dpiui and got bfn but tested 12dpiui and got bfp!  I hope that's what we both get this month.  My beta test is on the day before Thanksgiving so I guess we will both know then:)

Molson- So, you are not on any progesterone, right?  If not, then do you normally get cramping with AF or before AF?  When I got pregnant, I was sure af was coming because I had cramps like with af and just felt yucky.  It can go either way.  When I was not on progesterone with my last IUI cycle, I got spotting on 9dpiui and full fl,ow af the next day.  I had cramps for a few days before af came.  Good luck!  I hope they are pregnancy symptoms you are feeling!

I am on progesterone suppositories (prometrium). Last cycle, I ovulated at cd15 and got my BFN 14dpiui. RE told me to stop taking the prometrium and wait for AF to come. It came 3 days later giving me a 32 day cycle (I am normally 28). This cycle I did the injections and iui was on CD 11. Since I am 8 dpiui I am really hoping that AF isn't coming yet. 19 days seems way too early. As for cramping with AF, I used to get major cramping a couple hours before I started until I had my HSG test in July. Since then, I get cramps 2-3 hours after AF starts and they are a lot more mild. Man I hope these are pg symptoms and not AF coming early. We are using a donor because DH has no sperm and only have 1 vial left if this one doesn't work. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I had my first pregnancy test on Sat which was on my 10dpiui, the result was negative, then I tested again this morning, and the result was still negative.  I'm worry that I won't be able to get preg this month.  I start to have some sort of menstrual cramps today, sore bbs and back pain.

bfromthed - when will you start your next iui?  All the best to you.  I did have the trigger shot the day before iui, I hope that's the reason why my results are neg, I will test again on Wed, please pray for me.

molson76 - I'm also on prometrium and it doesn't give me any symptoms except the discharge at night.  It's still too early to test if you're on your 10dpiui, I know the wait is terrible but we are all with you.

Well im new to this site and have to say that Im happy I found it. Well I just started my first IUI cycle last week on 11/11 and have been going to the dr every other day in hopes one day they will say come on in so we can get you started! I am currently takeing 150ml of follistim and then I have to give myself a HCG shot (that sounds painful) the nurse said sometime this week I am going to have my IUI done I just can't wait not to mention I have PCOS so there is one more thing to worry about.

I have PCOS too.  It is a very common thing.  The HCG shot sounded really scary for me too.  But it doesn't really hurt (if your DH gives it to you in the correct spot).  The flu shot is more painful than this one.  Don't let the bigger needle scare you either.  You don't feel the needle go in at all.  You will just feel some muscle ache afterwards.  Good luck to you and welcome to this site.

Hi!  Welcome!  Good luck with your IUI!  If you are getting the Intramuscular HCG shot in the butt, which I always did, I suggest using a freeze pack to freeze the area.  I always do that and I keep it on there for 25 or 30 minutes, which is probably longer than you need to.  If you freeze it, you won't feel it at all except a little muscle ache later on.

I'm 8dpiui and still have no symptoms.  I had my bloodwork for progesterone yesterday and it was 17.  Last month was 10.2. Does this just mean my lining is thicker this month? Also, is it possible I have no symptoms because we only used ovidrel and suppositories?  I'm second guessing everything. It's so comforting to read what you all are saying.  It makes the 2ww easier.

Hi there, I also did not have any symptoms on my 8dpiui.  Same as you, I had some thick lining but I think that's normal because of the prometrium (???).  I'm on 12pdiui today, I feel some back pains and sore breast, I hope they are not the signs of AF (I have this every AF).  I did 2 pregnancy tests already and they both were neg.  I hate this feeling, I will be very disappointed if it's neg again tomorrow.  :(

Just checking in on everyone.  Hoping for some more BFP's very soon.  Today I am 8 weeks and 3 days and I am feeling great except for some days with morning sickness.  Just found out hubby is losing job end of this month so things have been very stressful and I have been having anxiety attacks from it but am trying to keep myself calm for my sake and baby's sake.  If anyone out there needs some Follistim I have a 600 box that I am willing to sell for cheap.  Good luck to everyone in their 2ww.

Hi Everyone! I am now 10 dpiui and the cramping that I felt over the weekend still comes and goes but not as much or as often. It feels more like pressure than anything else. Last cycle the prometium made me feel tired and nauseous within 2 days of starting it. This cycle I was fine in that sense until yesterday morning. Now every time I eat, I feel nauseous even if it's something as small as a single cookie and after lunch yesterday I was hit by a severe case of exhaustion. I am hoping it's not side effects from the prometrium it's been 7 days after I started taking it. It seems a little late for the side effects to kick in since last time it was only 2 days. I want to test so badly but I don't want to take the chance of any of the trigger shot still being in my system and getting a false positive. It's all I can do to keep my car from turning into the Walgreen's parking lot on my way home from work. 4 more sleeps, 4 more sleeps, 4 more sleeps.......

So they  want to do my IUI on thursday which is awsome I can't wait and they said that I have 16 Eggs that are good enough so lets hope this works cuz I always thought that they like to see 3-5 eggs. I'm new to the group and went through an IUI yesterday. Was on Clomid and also used the Ovidrel trigger to time the ovulation. I've been pregnant twice, first was an unsuccessful pregnancy which ended at 21 weeks and the second a successful one, I have a 4-year old daughter. Found out we had issues getting pregnant this time after husband did SA.  It's been a very difficult year and I've spent way too many $$$ on ovulation and pregnancy tests. This 2 week wait is going to be the worst. Please send baby dust our way!!

Well hello to everyone...
I am happy to read the BFP's and to all those in their tww good luck.
As for me I went to RE today and found out that I will have to do the laproscopy. I am really not too sure what to expect and am beginning to second guess my decision. I felt it was the best choice to do at this point especially considering one of my tubes is blocked. My prayer is that they will be able to get down to the bottom of things and hopefully I can conceive soon.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Anyone been through the laproscopy? What are the costs of it...does insurance usually cover it? Side effects? Ect...
IDK i am really nervous about surgery but i feel this is in our best interest right now.

I am so happy I found this site.I too am trying to concieve and anxiously awaiting my BFP.I just had my 4th back to back IUI on the 16&17.I am on clomid day 2-6 and I have an HCG trigger shot on day 11. I have to wait until my dr appt on Nov 27th as they do blood work 10 days after IUI or on day 24.It is so nerve wrecking and I pray for everyone else in the same situation we get our BFP's this month.I am thinking of changing to Femara instead of clomid?Does anyone take Femara? Glad to have a support system and I am hear for anyone who needs a buddie ;-)

I am on a 30 day hold by my re but you will love this forum...we are all so supportive and encouraging here and at least one of us has been through whatever question you may have...lol I too switched to femara because it does not have the thin lining effect that clomid has and also the side effects are ALOT less then with clomid...keep us posted on your journey and I will pray for your BFP and hope you will do the same for us on our next attempt in Decemeber...baby dust and sticky vibes! :)

I am extremely tired... and have been having some pains in my lower back.  I just had my IUI on Saturday, and started Prometrium on Monday.  
This could be a stupid question, but I just haven't found out for sure.  If you have 3 follicles, does that mean that when you ovulate they will each release an egg- giving you 3 eggs?

Has anyone else had a progesterone level of less than 20 and gotten pregnant?  If so, did anyone get pregnant with multiples with a low progesterone level like that one week post?  My estrogen level is 435 and I am concerned about that too but mostly with the low prog. level since of all of my cycles, including when I got pregnant, my prog. level has never been this low.  It was over 40 when I got pregnant with multiples and has been over 20 with every other cycle.  I am also on Crinone prog. suppos. this time and I wasn't on any last time and it was over 20.  I am not sure if it shows in the blood stream...does anyone know?  I don't know if the level just has to be over 10 in order to achieve pregnancy(multiple or singlton) or if it would need to be higher for multiples.  Please help!  I am so upset over this.  I feelo as though I already know the result of my IUI is negative at 7dpiui.  Any information woudl be greatly appreciated!!!  Thanks and good luck to everyone!

kmcarino -- I am sure you don't have anything to worry about yet. From what my doctor has said and I have read anything over 15 is a good sign. Again and again I have read there is simply no way to predict pregnancy from progesterone results. So try not to worry and stay positive until you have reason to be otherwise! I am going to get mine checked in the morning so we will see....

hoping0104 -- Don't worry... it is very possible you will have no signs at all. Hang in there and try to be positive (trust me I know it is easier said than done)! I am 6dpiui and this is my first one so I am also going crazy. When do you test?

But my level was 15, not even over 15 so I guess I should worry.  It may not detect pregnancy, but it tells me that there is most likely not enough prog. to support a multiple pregnancy:(  I am so bummed about the low level.  I feel the same as if I got my bfn already.  The nurse said anything over 10 is ok, but I just think she knows I don't have a good chance and just doesn't want me to worry for the next week.  I am even on prog. supp. so the level should not be low.

The progesterone level just tells you if you ovulated or not.  Your level is high enough to show that you did ovulate.  So you could be pregnant.

kmcarino- I can understand how worried you are but according to my re the suppositories dont get into your blood stream.  Also, depending on which one you're taking the levels are different.  It definately shows you ovulated.  I'm taking endometrin and my re said its normal for a low number w/ this particular brand.  Last month it was 10.2 and this month was 17.  It's my dh w/the issue, i'm ok.  I hope this helps and I know it's hard not to worry.  lots of baby dust to you

hoping0104-Thank you for sharing that with me.  That does help:)  I am thinking it didn't work though because of the lower progesterone level, but also because my estrogen was 435 and it was 1100 when I got pregnant and because I am having light cramping today and I am 8dpiui.  This is when I usually start getting cramps...it has got to be PMS.

How are you holding up in the wait?  Do u feel any symptoms today?

The wait this time doesnt seem as bad as last month.  I dont know why because i'm not busier than before.  How's your wait?  my bbs are slightly tender today.  Hope its not af.  that would be devasting.  Hope that's not the case for you.  Keep me posted, we're close in time.

I had lap surgery last month.  Mine went very well.  I was back to normal within a few days (minus a few twinges along the way).  Anyway, my doctor said that he hated doing these procedures, even though they are a next step.  He says that too often people get their hopes up that something will be found, and most of the time nothing is found.  It isn't a "cure" for fertility problems.  
After the surgery he was glad I had it done because they drained a cyst, removed scar tissue from my c-section (it was impeding), and removed endometriosis.
The worst part for me was the not eating prior to surgery- and only clear liquids the day before.  
Are they going to blow your tubes while they are in there... to ensure that they are clear?

I was very excited until yesterday, so the wait was going slow but now I don't really care since I am sure it will be a negative result.  I think I will know for sure in a few days.  Getting af iIS very devastating when you think it has worked.  I guess it won't be as devastating this time if I already think it didn't work.  Although I am praying for a miracle....u keep me posted too:)

Does anyone have any experience with Provera?  I did Clomid/Follistim/IUI two months ago and then my doctor had me rest a month.  After 34 days, I still don't have AF (and I'm not pregnant) so they started me on Provera.  I'm just wondering if people have gotten AF pretty quickly after starting Provera or if it took the full 10 days and then some.  Never thought I'd want my period, but now I'm so frustrated it won't come!

I used provera last month and this month to bring on a cycle and both times I got my friend about 3 days after so just give it sometime.

I got my first IUI today and they want me to come in for a 2nd one tomorrow I was nervous but actually i didnt feel a thing. After tomorrow I will be going into my 2 ww Im not looking foward to that at all but thank goodness its around a holiday to keep me busy.

When you have had an IUI how long do you have to wait to test?

Hey I too am on my wait,I had IUI on Sunday and Monday.My re tests 10 days after my IUI and can tell by blood if I am preggo.I get my blood test on the 27th and will find out the next day.This is my 4th time doing IUI.Good Luck to you hun and lots of baby dust!

kmcarino & all --- okay girl I am right there with you or actually right there below you. My progesterone came back at 11 today so they put me on progesterone suppositories. My nurse said not to worry now is the time to get my levels up but I can't help but be worried. I am trying to stick to the positive words I gave you but it is hard! Let's just hang in there though okay!!

I am trying!!  But I have also had cramping all day so I think it is PMS cramping and that it didn't work.  I was already on the prog. supp. at night and still got a 15 but they say it does not show up in the blood stream.  Anyway, no matter what the level is, I still don't think it worked since this is when I started cramping the last few failed cycles.  I bet my cramping will last until I get af which will be a week from now.  Good luck!  I hope the time passes fast for you and that you get your bfp!!

Okay, I caved and took an hpt tonight. My DH's brother and his wife just had a baby girl yesterday and we went to see her tonight and afterward I couldn't wait until Saturday morning to test. Guess what!!!! It was BFP!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!! I'm 12 dpiui so it can't be the trigger shot anymore right???? I'm going to call the doctor in the morning to see if I can get my blood test moved to tomorrow instead of Saturday. I'm shaking so badly right now I can hardly type. Now I pray that nothing goes wrong.

Hello I am totally new to this site as well.  I had my first  iui done last Friday 11/14 on 150 mg of clomid & the trigger shot last Wednesday night.  I had 2 follicles measuring 15mm on my right side and 1 15mm on my left side.  I have been getting cramps the last couple of days.  I am not testing until 12/1?  Anyone else feeling this way?  I am holding out hope and trying to be positive???

I'm supposed to have an hcg on Monday, but AF has shown up today.  I called the DR, and since my flow isn't heavy yet, they want me to keep up with the Progesterone and will see me for bloodwork on Monday. I'm pretty sad, since this has been my last month trying with meds and we're definitely taking the next month off to enjoy the holidays.  I hope there are more BFPs for this group soon!

Ok, I woke up this morning and my bbs are really sore.  I have a feeling this is af symptom.  I hope not since this is our last month able to try.  I dont have any other symptoms really, some on/off mild cramps,which I dont get before af is due.  Please keep your fingers crossed.  I want to test but I told myself no.  I'll wait until tomorrow to see if I'm spotting.  That happened last month.  I spotted the Saturday before my test.

I finally got my numbers from the RE's office. My progesterone is 57 (they want it over 20), my estrogen is 179 (they want it over 100) and my hcg is 134. She said the hcg was a little high so it could possibly be multiples but she's also seen these levels with only one so I guess we'll wait and see what happens. I have to go back on Sunday for another blood test. Right now I just want to shout it from the rooftops but we're going to wait and tell the immediate family at Thanksgiving. I had such a hard time working today. I just couldn't concentrate.

eclarky - you had your iui the same day as me. When are you testing?

I'm praying for all of you that you too will soon get your BFP.

I will keep praying that the flow will stay slow and that you still get your BFP on Monday. Some women do still have a some bleeding the first month.

Jill0802 When I took Provera I took it the full 10 days and then 3 days later my friend would come never befor, but I have heard of it coming while still takeing pills I think it depends on the person.

Jennstowe and all- I just had my 2nd IUI today and they said that the numbers were really good again so hopefully. I have to start takeing progessterone on monday and go in for a blood test fri and the I take a preggers test on the 3rd. All of you will have to keep me posted on your progress.

c b hoping- My light cramping went away later this morning and have not come back yet.  I will be surprised if they stay away.  I still think the cramping was PMS but let's hope it is not.  I think I'll know for sure within two days so we'll see if any other symptoms appear or not and if the cramps come back.

hoping0104-  I hope your sore boobs means that you got pregnant!  Do you usually get sore boobos before af?  My boobs are swollen but not sore and the progesterone causes that.  My cramping went away so we'll see if it comes back.  I would wait two days before you test.  I really hope this is it for you!!  Last cycle I was not on prog. at all and I had spotting 9dpiui and then af came on 10dpiui and with the failed cycles when I used prog. support, I had cramps pretty much from 7dpiui until I got af.  I hope I get pregnant....I hope I get some more symptoms.  I still think it was PMS yesterday, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.  Keep me posted about your symptoms.  I w

This was our 2nd attempt at iui. We had to use donor sperm (DH does not have any) and did not use any meds at all with the first one. After it did not work my RE put me on 75 units of follistim for 5 days, 150 units for 2 more days then the trigger shot. I had 2 mature follicles (one at 18 on the left and one at 20 on the right).

I am now 9dpiui and still feel the exact same. I have had some light cramping but that is about it. I am not holding out too high of hopes for this cycle with the low progesterone but I know it will happen eventually. I get my blood test Wednesday morning so I will know for sure that afternoon.

BTW anyone who is on progesterone suppositories... what kind are you on? Mine is prometrium and it is just a capsule that can be taken orally but they prescribed as a suppository? Anyone heard of this?

I will also get my blood test Wed. morning and I also don't think it worked for me either yet again.  I am on Crinone vaginal cream.  I am sorry, I don't know anything about prometrium.  My progesterone was also a little low too.  I am 10dpiui today and if it had worked I am sure I would have felt some more symptoms by now like I did when I got pregnant.  Good luck to you!  I hope we are both wrong and that it worked:)

I haven't had any symptoms except some that I have when AF is coming. I've also been having feeling lighthearted. I also get these quiverings in my inside but all these point to AF. And I actually spotted earlier on and I'm feeling depressed right now. But don't let my news affect you, I wish you a BFP and I'm also hoping its not AF for me.

eclarky - How are you doing? Have you gone to do the test yet? I hope the flow didn't become heavier and I'm also hoping that for myself.

To everyone - I spotted earlier but I don't feel any activities in my lower abdomen like I do when AF has arrived. I do this to myself most cycles, where I keep hoping seeing the first drop of blood means nothing. I feel so sad right now and discouraged. Its been about 3 hours since I saw the blood stain and haven't felt more flow but feel very wet. I'm still hoping I'm pregnant. Please pray for me!! Haven't even told my DH abt the spotting coz he's at work right now. It will make him sad too. I'll just wait until he gets home.

Well today is 12dpiui, my lower back is sore and my bbs are sore.  My bbs are unpredictable w/af.  Sometimes they're sore and others not.  Last moth I spotted on day 12 and got af 14dpiui but so far no spotting.  I just have the feeling af is coming because if it was progesterone making my boobs sore it would have happened sooner than Thursday.  I have my fingers crossed.I did test this morning with a BFN, I'm hoping it's wrong. :(

Chrissy- I/m taking progesterone suppositories called endometrin. I've never heard of having the choice of where to take it.  sorry I couldn't be more help

I am on prometrium suppositories. They are not much fun to put in but I have heard they work better than the pills you swallow. The part that ***** about them is that the side effects they cause are sore boobs, nausea and tiredness so they can kind of trick you into thinking that you are having pg symptoms. I knew that I was pg this cycle even though I was on them because last cycle I had all the symptoms I described above within 2-3 days on starting them. This cycle I had cramping 2 days after I started them (about the correct time for implantation) and the nausea and tiredness did not start until I had been on the suppositories until I had been on them for 6 days.

It was wierd to read your last post because that's exactly how I felt on my last IUI.I was tender in my lower tu,,y and I was just squinting thinking the IUI was going to be painful and it was.As soon as RE put the clamp in I felt an unusal amount of pressure and then when he put the catheter inside my cervix I had quite bad cramps.I had lower tummy pains all that day and even the next am when I went for my next IUI,however the second one didn't hurt at all but I had tummy cramps off and on.I actuallt had on and off light cramps today and it had been 5 days since I had my last IUI.What are normal pregnancy symptoms around the 1st week after IUI????Do you feel anything???Anyone??? I can't handle another NEGATIVE!!! Gosh I am emotional,,,,sorry guys!

I understand....I am so sick of getting negatives too.  If you are only 5dpiui then I would say it is really a little early to feel anything, but you could possibly feel implantation which should be around 6-10dpiui.  I had light cramping 8dpiui and now I feel crampy but not really getting cramps and am 10dpiui today.  I really think it was just and is just PMS...I am expecting another negative unfortunately.  I can just tell that I am not pregnant.  I think that if I wasn't taking progesterone that I would have gotten af today.  But who knows.  The 2ww is so hard but hang in there!  I hope you don't have to see another negative.  Good luck!

I too had cramping during and after my iui. The follistim and trigger shot made my ovaries swollen so my RE had a hard time getting the catheter to the right place. I cramped for 2 days afterward. I've seen posts for others that have cramped for a couple days afterward too. If it was only on one side or the other, it may have also been ovulation cramps which sometimes can last a day or two especially when you have lots of follies.

Jenn, it possible that your second iui did not hurt because you may have ovulated in between the iui's relieving some of the swelling (someone correct me if I am wrong). As for your tummy cramps today, it could be implantation cramps as it would be about the right time for that. I have read that most women do not feel any pg symptoms until around the 5 week mark (and after they miss their first AF) so don't get too concerned if you don't feel anything after today's cramping goes away.

It actuallly didn't feel all that bad to get the IUI done i just noticed the signs afterward. I actually think its ok. My dr said that it might be a mild case of Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and that just to take it easy and rest not to lift heavy things and such he said that It should get better soon and that if I get preggers it might take a bit longer. He also said that it might just be that my ovaries were really just a tad bit enlarged cuz I had 16 follicles alltogether and that they just have to release or something and that It could also be me releasing alot of follicles and such and also cuz I have PCOS so that gives greater chances. Has any one ever heard this befor?

Jennstowe you are in my thoughts and I hope everything works out for you keep me posted. I am going nuts cuz Im going into my 2nd day past IUI and really want the two weeks to speed up.

I did a hpt test this morning and it was a BFN!! Soooooooooooooo sad! 4 years of ttc and no luck! Its beginning to take its tool on me.
I hate life right now and I feel so lost. AF is flowing now, so y'day's little flow was just to make me foolishly wish I could still be pregnant.
To still see the doc tomorrow though. I guess to do another IUI cycle.

Went for my 2nd blood test this am and RE office just called with the results. My HCG went up to 376 and Estrogen up to 343. They didn't have the Progesterone results back yet but since it was 57 on Friday she wasn't worried about it. I go in on 12/8 for u/s and more blood work.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 18 months.  He has low counts, and I have PCOS.  I am on Metformin everyday, and do Clomid on cd 3-7.  Now I am on Prometrium, which normally causes my bbs to get really swollen and sore, but I haven't noticed anything yet.  I have been on it for a week now, so that is unusual.  I guess I am building up my tolerance or something.
My DH wants me to test Thursday morning.  That would be 12 days past IUI.  

How are you doing, and when will you be testing?

I am so sorry that AF showed up for you.  This process is so difficult on all of us.  We pay a lot more attention to every twinge, cramp, and sign as a hope that this is it for us.  I know how hard it is when it turns out we were wrong, and AF arrives.  I will keep you in my prayers.

I started FSH today, for five days. from cd3 to cd7. Its starting all over again. My doc says he might include estradiol this cycle but just to boost the endometrium not necessarily bcos I didn't respond well in my last cycle. So this is praying for a BFP this cycle.

cb_hoping - Thank you for your prayer. I have had a HSG done and a hysteroscopy. My tubes are ok. My uterus beautiful. I even have a picture of it. But this was after I had a cervix dilation done. It's been a long journey. My husband's count is good, excellent infact, so we've been classified under 'unexplained fertility'

I took the hpt this morning and it was a BFN.  I've been crying on and off.  I dont have my af yet but the re told me to stop the progesterone suppositories and if I dont get af by Wednesday to call.  I feel nauseous and my bbs are still sore.  Is it possible to get a BFN this morning but maybe a BFP this afternoon?  Probably just wishful thinking, right?

Hi, I was given HcG injection on the 15th day of my cycle…. My doc told me to get the blood work on the 7th of December. :(  I will have to wait 13 more days….. when will u test ?

And another thing my bbs has stop hearting and I am not getting as many cramps as the last few days. Is it normal…or does this mean the IUI didn’t work for me…. what about u? how r u feeling?

As for the pain you are feeling on 10dpiui, I can't really say if its normal or not. We all react differently, that's what I've come to realize. For me, by 10dpiui, I wasn't really feeling any sensations. If it hurts too much, see ur doc otherwise, this is hoping its implantation and u r on ur way to a BFP!! Baby dust!!
