Did anyone watch CNN they were talking about the women that had 8 children.  My doctor is on TV.  Dr. Scott Slayden .  The woman already had 6 children.  They are wondering why would she want that manny children and no husband.

by cb_hoping, Jan 31, 2009 08:48PM
bfromthed- I am so sorry you had to go through that.  I am thinking of you, and wishing you a BFP.

As far as me- nothing I can really call a symptom.  I tend to think most things are either from the prometrium or gas bubbles.

I have to ask, is it likely to see implantation bleeding if you are preggo, or is that fairly uncommon?

by 4everwealth, Feb 01, 2009 06:48AM
To: cb_hoping
It is possible to bleed some and it turns out to be implantation bleeding. I dont know if I should say it's fairly common or not but if you google implantation bleeding, you'll see websites where women had seen theirs.

cb: with my first pg I had no implantation bleeding at all I did have cramps as if af was coming (enough to have me wear a pad) then it went away...

All: As far as me I am out of the game this cycle AF came this morning...I thought I would be horribly sad but it seems I had the feeling at 5 dpiui. We are going to try one more cycle back to back again then we will take a break maybe some finacially miracle will happen and we can have a shot at IVF...keep me posted and good luck to the rest of you guys still in the 2ww!

by cb_hoping, Feb 01, 2009 10:42AM
Thank you.  I know I have seen alot of info on implantation bleeding, but didn't see it with my first pregnancy- but wasn't watching for it either.
Bfromthed- so sorry af came.  You are only 12 dpiui, so is that normal for your cycle- or could it be implantation?

sorry your af came...I was really rooting for you and your dh.  You seem like such a nice and caring person.  You will be a great mom someday!  My thoughts are with you and we will all be "with" you when you start your next iui.

To all:  My pregnancy test will be on tuesday at the RE's.  I had two  positive hpt's but was told it may be the trigger shot.  I feel good but am cautiously optimistic.

My niece has been ttc for three years now following a miscarriage and two failed ivfs.  The last IVF was in November.  Just found out that she is 7 weeks pregnant..naturally.  yay!

Sorry to hear that. I will continue to pray.  I joined this site because of how encouraging you were.  I pray that God do it for you and hubby this cycle.   It has to be your time.  I will pray for you guys.

As for me.  I'm not sure what is going on. I cried this morning when i used the restroom and wiped my self and saw blood(sorry TIM).  I Just strated crying saying GOD YOU PROMISSED.  Right after that I started cramping.  No sign of the AF... yet.  I pray that was implantation. but not sure what that looks like.  bbs are still sore.  We have been trying so many years and have never gotten preg.  this is my 2nd iui.  AF was sched. for feb.2.  I pray that nothing happens tonight and in the morning.  I will not test.  trying to wait it out.

Thank you all for putting so much encouraging words to all us waiting for the BFP.  This site has made me stronger.

Thank you so much for the well wishes it really makes a difference. Sometime God put us in the right places around the right people and I appreciate each and every one of you! I will be going in tomorrow for monitoring and will have the game plan for next cycle. I rtuly beleive that I o'd sooner than they expected I did have craming 2 days before IUI and that was on a Saturday night and Sunday (they were closed!!!) so we will do this one bk to bk and if no luck we will take a few months off to give my body and mind a break and try and save up for a ivf cycle....My prayers are with you all the first thing in the morning and before I close my eyes at night. God said himself to be fruitful and reproduce (its the waiting that kills us...lol) we will get there! Dont lose hop and definitely never lose faith he is true to his word!

hi all
I just had ultrasound done, i have one follicles abt 18mm and other one abt 13mm. They r planning to do insemination tomorrow. i was wondering that if 18mm follicles gets mature and other one not by tomorrow still insemination is possible? also are there any chances of 13mm follicles to get mature?? i also have several other ones bt they are very small, does that mean anything??

by moni81, Feb 04, 2009 08:48AM
To: samy1402
There are chances that the 13mm follicle may also mature. But the major chance is that the 18mm follicles mature. It is a natural condition that there will be amny small follicles in the woman's uterus and one or two of them would mature each month. And in the next month, the other small follicles grow in their size and try to mature.

by samy1402, Feb 04, 2009 08:53AM
thanks moni81
with how many follicles doctor suggest to inseminate??

by moni81, Feb 04, 2009 08:57AM
To: samy1402
The doctor usually suggests to inseminate around 2 to 3 follicles. But my doctor always says that only one dominant follicle matures each month. And my follicle was of 23mm 36 hrs before the process.

Well, I went to the RE's yesterday and got a BFP!  my beta is at 906!  I am 18 days past iui.  she said the numbers were excellent.  I did not have any symptoms other than regular/slight cramping. Oh, I also had a tugging feeling on my right side.  I think it was just the ovary...not sure about a pregnancy symptom.  I only had one mature follicle at 18 and one at 10.  I go for my second blood test on saturday.

I have a bad news to share. I just came from RE office because of the constant pain on the right side. It was too early to find anything in the ultra sound but I did a blood test but the hcg was only 1072 which did not double from last time. I took a HPT last night, and again this morning.  Both were BFN.  I am very disappointed.  My DH and I just don't know what to do.  I am starting to think we are never going to get pregnant.  We feel that nothing has been successful, and the treatments are just getting more and more expensive.  We are debating taking some time off, but aren't sure if that is the answer.  We have also talked about taking the Fertility Blend for Women- he already takes the Fertility Blend for Men, and his counts and motility have really improved.  We really thought it would work this cycle.  If we stop with the fertility treatments (Clomid, Follistim, HCG, and IUI), if a few months down the road we decide to go back, would we be starting all over?  Or do you pick up where you left off?
Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

by kmcarino, Feb 05, 2009 08:56AM
To: cb hoping
How many cycles have you gone through and were they all back to back?  Were they IVF or all IUI cycles?  Depending on how many you have been through of IUIs, I would keep trying back to back, unless of course, you have a cyst holding you back.  I always thought that if you take a few months off that you would be starting all over again.  When I got pregnant with IUI a few years ago, I got pregnant with my second IUI which was right after a failed cycle so I think it is better to keep going.  If you have done four IUIs with no success, I would suggest going on to IVF.

I am really sorry about your bfn.  I am so sick of seeing negatives too.  I am trying to be positive though and just know it will happen when it is meant to be!!  Good luck in making your decision and I hope you get your bfp soon!

This was our 5th IUI in total, 3rd in a row after having laparascopic surgery, so that is where the RE counts it from.  My dh's numbers just really improved last month.  IVF is so expensive, and my insurance only covers so much for a lifetime, which doesn't come near the cost of IVF.
Which brand of HPT do you use?  I used the clear blue easy digital this time.

I like to use the EPT digital because that is what I used when I did get pregnant.  I would do at least one more IUI cycle if I were you.  Your husband's numbers will be great again.  The thing is that an IUI only has a 15-20% success rate so it may take several tries for it to work.  Hang in there!!

by wolfgangsmom, Feb 05, 2009 11:52AM

My estradiol level was only226 or close to it...they said it was high enough for one follie to mature...I had the ultrasound in the morning and got a call that night and told me to take the trigger shot ....have sex that night, abstain the following day (to build up the sperm) and then come in the following morning for the iui.  I only had one because I have to pay for it out of my own pocket.  That one follicle was enough as I am pregnant.

Once they give you the trigger, i think it takes 36 hours to ovulate...so if they inseminate you the next day, the sperm will still be swimming by the time you ovulate...then the second iui will be at the time you ovulate...so your chances are better.

I had a horrible experience as my husband was out of town.  The previous month I think my follicle was mature on my 14th day.  This time it was my 10th day.  So he had to high tail it back to town and drive all night....with a 101 temperature while taking antihistamines for his cold.  Well, needless to say, its hard to "produce" when you take antihistamines...I almost had to cancel the iui because he just couldnt do it.  finally, it came...(or he did--haha) and I got into the office in the nick of time.

anyway, I wish you the best of luck...Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for all your prayers. I had the worse day and night yesterday. I was in pain. I feel OK now. It seems everything is finished and my body is on ease now. I cried a lot and now I am ok.

wolfgangsmom: They did an ultra sound but could not found a sac because of my levels and the week that I am. Everything looked normal at that time. The level should be at least 1500-2000 to see a sac in uterus. But later on my level came low and even if I go tomorrow they won't be 100% sure.I would be ok with low level but yesterday but I had a sharp abdomin (abdomen) pain and today I am feeling no pain so this is kind of disturbing.

sorry about your bfn...If you take time off, I think they will resume where they left off...the good news is, there is a history and based on that they can adjust your medications accordingly.  I had two iui's before I got pregnant with the third and just couldnt afford further treatment, so i contacted Fertility Lifelines with a question...they were so compassionate there and hooked me up with their financial services and within two days and a hardship letter that I wrote, they sent me enough of gonal F for a full cycle at n/c.  I was in tears...and it worked...

so, maybe something like that can offset your costs...if I hadnt of contacted them, I would have had to wait a few months or longer to afford it...especially the way the economy is.

good luck to you and your husband.

wolfgangsmom- thank you for the info.  We are supposed to wait 2 days, and test again on Saturday.  I know now that the test I used detects HCG levels of 50mg or higher.  I am not getting my hopes up, but will be using a different test on Saturday.
If that one is BFN, then I will stop the prometrium, and we will be scheduling an appointment to go over all the other options, and what the RE thinks.

Hope-  I feel terrible for you, not knowing what is going on and all.  You are in my prayers.  Please stay positive, try to relax, and keep us posted.

Wolfgangsmom- Congrats to you and yours it must be so exciteing. When do you go for your first us? I hope everything gose ok.

Hope- You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep your chin up everything will be ok hang in there.

Samy- We are going to be on the 2ww together which is so cool now someone knows what im going through.

All- Well I had my first IUI today and there were still some follis left so they are doing a repeat one tomorrow. I had 9 follis and they ranged from 20 to 17 so Im hopeing something took. The only thing that really upsets me is that the dr said if this dosnt work to move on to IVF cuz there is no reason that it shouldnt be working with how everything looks so it got me kind of upset and I started to cry it just seems like its hopeless. I did take one of those ovulation kits this morning befor I went to the dr and it showed that I was ovulating so lets hope its right. Also starting monday I will be getting 100mm of injectable progesteron everyday I feel like me butt is going to me a pin cushion! But fof a good cause right. Im starting to feel a little better about everything now that I got to talk about it to you guys. All my hubby can say is that It will work this time and thats that (I love how he thinks) But still I have to make sure Im on gaurd right.

From your previous posts it sounds like you only take one shot of Follistim in one cycle... Is that correct?  If so, that sounds really weird.  Is there a reason they only have you take one shot?  If I am wrong I am sorry but it just always sounded like it.

goodluck with the IUI, i hope it works out for you from the first go.
but why would the doctor want you to move on to ivf if your first IUI doesnt go well???
i had my first IUI in december 08 and that didnt go well for me, doctor was surprised that it didnt work,cz evrything was going really well.
now iam waiting for AF , so i can start another iui cycle.
somtimes it takes more than one go for it to work and that's normal, shouldn't give up if it doesn't go well from first time.
anyway i hope it all goes well, and keep us posted!!
goodluck.

Thanks for the well wishes...I am really excited.  I have to go for my second hcg test saturday morning...then the ultrasound.  I am now 19 dpiui.

I originally went to the RE to see "why" I couldnt get pregnant since I had no problems the last time....I have been through 3 years of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation for lymphoma so I even wanted to know if that had anything to do with it.  Nothing was said at all....I saw her for the exam and then I went into a room with the nurse and she basically started to explain when we would start...the injections, etc.  I was floored.  I went there to see why...not necessarily start the OI right away.  Needless to say, that was in June and I went back to start in November.  I guess now, looking back, I wanted a yes or no answer...but now I am glad that we just went ahead with it.  So, I can understand why you would be upset.  After my first iui, they learned a lot...started me on lupron because I ovulated too early on my own and increased the injectables...so if anything, if this doesnt take, I dont see why they wouldnt try again and tweak things accordingly.  Dont get discouraged and worry about the next one.  Concentrate on the now....you may not even have to worry about it...I am rooting for you guys!!!!

I mentioned this before, but my niece went straight to ivf for two cycles...did not get pregnant and now she is 7 weeks preggers on her own.  So she is 10 years younger than me and we pregnant at the same time...I remember changing her diapers...strange how things go.  I cant wait to tell our families.  I am cautiously going to wait before I tell them.  I told a few close friends and that was it.  Thats why its great for this forum.

good luck chrissydan.

This is our 2nd IUI cycle I had my first in november and took a few months off and then got back in the game. I think why my dr said IVF is cuz I have PCOS and that might have something to do with it im not sure. During both cycles I have been on injectables (follistum and HCG trigger). Thanks your both for such kind words I will think good things.

All- I watched a really good movie that helped me a little bit. Danielle Steel's Mixed Blessings and that is all about some of the things we are going through and kinda made me stop and think a little bit if you get the chance its a must see.

In tears :( Big fat negative on test after first round of IUI. Life is soo unfair at times. I am 14piui and no AF. I am usually never late. I am seriously about to give up! This is soo exhausting the last 2 years I have devoted all of my time to having a baby and I try and try and it does not work. My husbands sperm count is very high and I ovulate every month,  blocked tube from miscarruiage and on Clomid 150mg- no thyroid issues nothing. My insurancedoes  not cover any Fertility meds/treatments or I would do IVF . I really think my Doc did the IUI to early. Can someone let me know when IUI should be done. Is it the day you get the postive on the Ovualtion test???? Help I want to do it right next time..

I had my 4th IUI on Wed. This is my 1st medicated cycle and I was on 50mg of clomid and had my ultrasound on Mon. I had one mature follie and I had the trigger shot on Mon. night. I went back for my IUI on Wed. (my RE states that 36hrs is the best time for IUI.) However, we are dealing with male factor - low sperm count. We only had 4.8 million post wash. RE says we should only do 3 medicated cycles (a total of 6 IUIs) and if no pregnancy then we should move on to IVF. Most articles I have read states that if you don't get pregnant within 6 cycles the possibility of IUI success is rare. I am hoping for the best. We pay for all of our procedures and drugs out of pocket.

Samy1402 - I think you had said something about the sperm living for a couple of days....My RE told me that washed sperm only live for 12hrs give or take a couple of hours, but sperm through I/C lives anywhere from 3-5 days.

Iam sorry i understood that this was your first time IUI. But still as i mentioned before sometimes it takes a few tries to work cz with IUI there is only 15-20%chance for sucess each cycle.
And as for the PCOS i've got  that too i don't think thats got anything to do with unsucessful IUI's.
keep your faith strong and try to stay positive and it will happen.
i'll keep you in my prayers and goodluck again!

Hello All,

I went in for my first ultra sounds today and there is only one peanut in there.  But we were able to see a very strong heartbeat.  So all is well.  I go back next Friday for another ultrasound.  Then the RE will releaseme to my OB.

Kisstin:  Did you find out what the sex is yet?

Bromthed:  How are you doing?  Maybe a month off you will get lucky.  Keep those spirits up.

well we are in same boat, today was my 2nd insemination, hw ws yours ?? do let me knw.....

To All,

today was my 2nd insemination, nurse sd that i m still not ovulating :(.... i asked her then why did u inseminate?? she sd that becoz i can ovulate any time..... thats wht they told me yesterday when they did my first insemination
My doctor always inseminate next day after HCG shot.... i wonder if it takes 36 hrs to ovulate why my doc is doing next day....
day 12 - did my Estrdiol & progestrone levels
day 13 - did my ultrasound & sd i can ovulate anytime, took HCG shot at night
day 14- my 1st insemination, they did ultrasound, sd still not ovulating bt i can ovulate anytime...
day 15- second insemination, they did ultrasound... still not ovulating... bt i can ovulate anytime....
i dont understand... why they inseminate me early.....
i m so upset.... just thinking that its nt gonna work this time....

by wolfgangsmom, Feb 06, 2009 11:42AM
To: samy1402
My office never did a follow up ultrasound after the trigger shot.  Thats interesting...I just assumed that once you had the shot, you had to ovulate in 36 hours

because you opted for 2 iui's on the same cycle, they gave you the shot, did the first iui the next day...and the second iui the following day...so the second iui will be around the 36 hour mark when you will ovulate.  You will also have sperm in your uterus from the first iui.  They know what they are doing.  I know its hard, i had misgivings too..."did they do it to soon...etc"...As I said before, they told me I could ovulate anytime, took the trigger shot, had sex that night and then skipped a day and had my iui the following day.  Timing was perfect and it took.

If your follicle was mature and your estradiols right...with the shot...you will ovulate.  Dont worry.  Keep positive thoughts and good luck for the dreaded 2 week (century) wait!!!

Best of luck...i will be thinking of you.

Dimps:  cool on the ultrasound..congrats!

With both of my IUI's I took HCG trigger approximately 27 hours before insemination and both resulted in pregnancy so I dont think the second one is too soon.  Kind of odd that you didn't ovulate yet though.

Kisstin- I only did the one shot of follistim because the RE was confident that the "cocktail" would work.  Cocktail being 50 mg of clomid and 150 mg of follistim.
Wolfgangsmom- Congratulations again!
Dimps- Congratulations to you as well!
I haven't tested again, and will test in the morning if AF doesn't arrive.  I am now 16 dpiui, but I think I o'd 17 or 18 days ago.  DH and I didn't miss an opportunity, but it is strange that my AF still hasn't showed, and I am still BFN.  Especially since last month I started AF while still on prometrium.
My bbs are sore- but not swollen feeling like they were.  No cramps or anything, but I am trying not to get my hopes up.  We will see what happens.

Clomid thins the uterine lining.  Before moving to IVF I would maybe just do the follistim (you will do a few days of shots) and then do the IUI.  I know that is what worked for me both times and maybe it will work for you also.  I took clomid by itself without IUI and never got pregnant.

I knw its odd becoz last month i ovulated fine...

But i still wonder why my doc does insemination within 12-13 hr of HCG shot????
even last month they did the exact same thing they told me to take shot the day before insemination at 10 pm and did next day at 9.00 am so it was not even 12hr !!!!
nw from tonight i m starting progestrone suppossitory... I Hate that!!!

ahhh this 14day wait is killing me......

My doctor says that ovulation takes place  24-36 hrs after the HCG shot. She has done my insemination also at exactly 36 hrs. And before doing the insemination( When I was waiting for it at the hospital), I had a severe cramping and I told the nurse about it. She said that I am ovulating at that time. So I ovulated at around 35 hrs after the HCG shot. And the IUI is done at 36 hrs.

Congratulations to you and yours.  Thank you for posting, it gives me hope to know your story. Im 10days post IUI #2 and on the longest tww of my life. The shorter the days the longer it feels. I too had an U/S in the am of a Monday, they saw a 23mm follie and a 12mm follie. I triggered that Monday night at 1030, with an IUI 36 hours later. I was concerned about only having one mature follicle, but like you said it only takes one. The doc also mentioned that the 12mm could possibly ovulate. 3 days post IUI i started prometrium vaginally (YUCK!) and will continue those until AF shows its ugly head or I get a BFN on Valentines Day.  I had a lot of cramping 4days post IUI and now I have twinges here and there. Today i had a terrible tug/pull on the left side. Ive also felt light headed and hypotensive today. Other than that I have had no symptoms at all. Im nervous....but hopeful.

Hi there..and thank you.  Sounds like your situation is very similar to mine....as far as the time frames and the number of similar sized follicles....and yes, those suppositories are sooooooooo gross.  I hate them too.  Thats interesting as i have been experiencing a lot of cramping, but the twinges are gone..I think the twinges were because of the stimulated ovaries.  I am experiencing back ache too, which I rarely have.  I am not a crampy mentstural girl either but the cramping is getting progressively more pronounced.  I went to the doc again this morning for another beta and they gave me a "congratulations" letter on what to avoid eating and doing...etc//  The nurse said as long as I am not bleeding, the cramping is ok.  Light headedness is normal, but I know, it seems like everything we feel is magnified and scrutinized by ourselves.   I didnt have any other symptoms either..just now at exacly 21 dpiui, I am feeling a bit around my breasts...some people get it right away.

Try not to worry, relax as much as possible and do whatever you can to get your mind of of this looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg two week wait.  Look forward to hearing from you again.

Take care and Good LUCk!

With my second iui, I was told to take the prog. twice a day three days after IUI....I dont know what I was thinking but i started the night of.   I didnt realize this until a few days later and called the office to tell them that I took it that night of the iui.  I asked if it was going to be a problem...they told me that if you take the progesterone too early, that it may stop you from ovulating...i was sooo upset, i spent the day on the internet looking for info.  I even called the drug company that makes the ovidrel trigger shot and they said the same thing.

Please double ck with your RE's office as far as taking the progesterone the evening of the iui....

Too much knowledge is a good thing...i dont mean to worry you but if you read other posts, they dont take it the same day.....

Thanks so much...I am happy....ultrasound in a week.

I am not an expert at any of this, but I was unsuccessful last month too and the nurse who did the iui was definitely  upset that I took it too soon.  They want us to wait three days...she said that it can inhibit ovulation....then she tried to sugarcoat it and said, well, you may have ovulated before the progesterone...but I really think thats the reason.  Then I called fertility lifelines for some advice and they "sort of " agreed with the nurse.  I was really really upset about what I had done...

This time I followed the directions to a "t".

Hi, I"m new on this site.  I've been trying so hard, in vain to conceive for the past 8mo's.   I ovulate but my cycle is ~40-45 days; it even went up to 49days! not sure why so I went to see a fertiilty specialist be on clomid to help me ovulate on a normal basis.

I just had my 2nd IUI 5days ago. last ngt around 11:30pm, I felt cramping around my  lower tummy area, so not sure if that's implantation?      My weight is isually 117-118 for the past 6mo's, but this morn I'm 114.5 so not sure if it's due to stress.

I'm going to try my BEST not to stress so much, b/c it hinders implantation, ovulation, fertilization.   that's why u hear of so many ppl who don't plan to hv babies, pop out babies left & right...it's b/c while they're having sex, all they hv in mind is pleasure which is great!   but when I hv sex now w/ my DH, all I'm concerned about is him ejaculating in me, and I'll lay in bed for ~15mins.  Also, I use the INSTEAD cups to hold his sperm in.  as you can all see, this routine may aid pregnancy, but not sexy; therefore, pleasure is lacking, so that's probably why I'm (or maybe some of you as well) aren't conceive as easily as many other pregnant women out there, that don't plan on having babies.

Also how does an IUI feel like??   my 1st IUI  felt like the doctor used straw to blow some air in me.  the 2nd IUI felt like nothing so not sure if the doc actually performed the IUI?

I requested a back to back IUI, but the doctor said no b/c my DH sperm is virile still.

anyway, my doctor told me to take endometrin (progesteron) the next day, after IUI.  I'm reading the prescription sheet, and it says possible side effects are cramping, swelling weakness.    so not sure if my tummy achs r side effects from this vaginal insert drug.   my doc said to take it 1 day after my IUI, but I took it 2 days after my IUI b/c my doc said my lining is very thick.  Not sure if it's the side effects of endometrin (progesteron), because I felt faint, nausea (but did not vomit), and had to go #2 for some odd reason!     I didn't feel this side effect the 1st 2 days I used it.

this is so confusing and I'm trying my best to de-stress but it's hard, so I'm very gratgeful to hv crossed paths w/ site and to communicate with all of  you, it's helpful therapy so thank you all.

Helen

It's been a bit since my last post.  So here's my update.  I took another HPT on Saturday, and it was a BFN.  So I stopped taking the prometrium, and this morning AF arrived.
My husband and I decided we would do 3 more cycles with IUI.  We have been told that after 6 cycles of IUI, if you haven't conceived, then you probably won't.  We have had 5 cycles, but only three post laparascopic surgery.  The RE counts it from the surgery.  I will be calling her today.

Good luck to those of you in the 2WW, and good luck to those about to get into the 2WW.  Sending lots of Baby Dust your way!

New here, but I have been reading all your posts and all very helpful.  I am cd23 and 7dpiui. (1st iui).  To wolfgangsmom, I was wondering if you had any symptoms.  Since about 2 days post iui, I've had cramping, sore bbs, and some nausea.  Wondering if this is a side effect of iui, progesterone suppositories???

by emmaspook, Feb 09, 2009 01:00PM
I am new to this boad but wanted to chime in.  I had a faint but definite line on a first response test this morning at 10 dpiui which was so exciting!   Called my re's office and they said to wait and test again on Friday which would be 14 dpiui and then they will have me come in for a blood test.  I wan't execting that reaction from them i thought they would have me come right in.  So has made me a little nervous. I took the ovidrell trigger shot 12 days ago so it must be out of my system by now?  Right?

by wolfgangsmom, Feb 09, 2009 02:02PM

Hi Heather...welcome!  I have not had any sore boobs at all until now (22dpiui) but got an unusual amount of cramping (on my back too) this time...More severe now that I am pregnant.  But I remember right after the iui, i got cramping right away, as I didnt the first two times....got a lot of pulling and stuff too.  The nurse said that even after the iui, your ovaries are getting bigger before they shrink back down and that could be the cause of it.  Also, implantation can cause cramping (now looking back, I did get cramping around when I would have "implanted".

I do believe that the progesterone causes this too and for my case as well.  I know, it can be so many things and we wish we had the answers during this long waiting game.

I did not experience any nausea at all for anything...now I am getting a lot of saliva build up now and then but it doesnt reach the point of being nauseated.  When I was pregnant with my son 5 years ago, I did not experience any morning sickness as well.

I hope this is helpful.  Good luck and keep us up on your progress and symptoms!

Good luck !

Thanks for the info.  I have one daughter after 10yrs ttc.  She is now 4, and we have been trying again for 3 years.  I am new to the IUI process, so all of the symptoms are new to me..I conceived DD naturally.

Had another question,  did you have implantation bleeding with either of your pregnancies, and if so do you remember what day of cycle you were.  I did with my DD, so I am just waiting and checking for it now since I am 7dpiui.  Just curious

Congrats on your BFP. I noticed that you thought your due date is about 9/29. I think mine is about 9/23. How are you feeling? I've had no morning sickness or nausea. I did have some headaches, but they're gone. My appetite is out of control and I am getting tired a lot. My first appt. is this Thur. Feb. 12. Do you think they'll do an ultrasound?

Kisstin: Have you found out the gender yet? Do you think they'll do an ultrasound at my first prenatal appt.? I'll be 8 weeks.

wolfgangsmom: Congrats on the BFP. What is your EDD? How are you feeling?

To All: I only had one IUI and it failed. We actually got pregnant on our own the next cycle. However, I would definitley keep trying the IUI. I've heard it can take up to four or five. Keep believing. It will come when you least expect it. I actually had no symptoms other than a missed period at first. I probably had more symptoms the month I did the IUI. That trigger shot does crazy things to your body. I'm praying for all of you.

I went for my ultra sound today. My RE saw a sac that measured at 5 weeks 4days . I am 29 dpiui which placed me at 6 weeks, so again he was not sure if this pregnancy will survive or not. He made me did a blood test again. If the hcg comes low then it means there is no hope. I am sure I ovulated the same day of IUI and started taking progestrone the next night. my RE does not want me to be optamistic. I will get the result tommorrow.

Good Luck to all who are in their 2ww.

Hello,

Yes I believe my due date is 9/29.  It is funny I was so excited to see the heart at the last appt that I forgot to ask.  So I go back this friday for another ultrasound.  If all is well then I will be released to my OB.  I have been nauseaus everyday all day and I have been extremely tired.  But I cna't complain I don't care what s the matter as long as I carry this baby to term and it is healthy that is all i care about at this point.  I am officially 7 weeks today.  It has gone by so fast so far.  Thank good ness I just went to get through the first 13 weeks without any problems.

They should be doing an ultrasound to see the heart beat.  Please keep me posted on your progress and on your appt.

Kisstin:  Please keep us posted on your ultra sound today.  You must be so excited.

Bfromthed:  How are you doing?  How have you been feeling?

cb_hoping:  I am sorry about af.  Keep your spirits up.  And keep thinking positive thoughts.

How are you doing these days? Are you planning for the IVF next month?

wolfgangsmom: Hope you have a good result in the ultrasound.

All: I am 14dpiui and by God's Grace I will test tomorrow.

by cb_hoping, Feb 10, 2009 08:31AM
Hope- I am praying dearly for you.  I hope that everything turns out well.  Please stay strong and positive.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.  My DH and I talked to the RE yesterday, and then discussed the options further last night.  We decided to try only one more cycle of IUI.  Then we will be taking a break.  So this month we are going to do the cocktail of medicines (I think- I have to call the RE back today).  And then we are debating doing two IUI's in a row.  Our RE doesn't believe it increases your chances that much, but we are going to try it anyway.  So we should be on 50 mg of clomid, 150 mg shot of follistim, Metformin, the trigger shot, and then prometrium after the IUI's.
If this doesn't work this month, I will be ok.  I say that now, who knows what I will be saying later.  The RE says the best months for conception are 6-8 months post laparascopic surgery, which would put us in April through June.
Good luck to all of you in the 2WW, and congratulations to all of you with the BFP's.

Did you discuss with your RE about just using Follistim?  I really think Clomid does more harm then good.  It really thins your lining and then the peanut can't stick.

I agree with Kisstin...They skipped the clomid with me right away because of my age and went to the gonal F (same as follistim).

I wish you the best of luck!

I tested 17 dpiui...I wouldnt be disappointed yet.  ...i think i took my hpt about 11 days piui...when do you go in for yours?

hope2009: keep the faith...until you hear from the doctor, only have positive thoughts...I really hope it works out.

bfromthed: thanks for the well wishes...glad to see you are still in touch.

Dimps:  I feel great....no symptoms except cramping which is subsiding...my boobs are finally starting to grow a bit (a welcome symptom!)  Luckily for my first child I was very active and symptomless too.  I am keeping tabs on your entries so, keep em coming.  I think I will be due around the first wk of october...didnt get any official dates yet.  ultrasound on the 18.  take care.

01Heather:  I definitely did not get implantation bleeding with this pregnancy as I too checked every time i peed.  With my 4 year old son, I dont recall...but at the time i wasnt trying to get pregnant.  I had a miscarriage before my son and I dont believe i had implantation bleeding either...During this past year and a half or so, ttc, I believe i did get implantation bleeding...and then my period was super late...but obviously no pregnancy.
I really did feel cramping around the time i would have implanted but it could have been anything.  What kind of medication were you taking?  I was on lupron to prevent me from ovulating too early and during the last cycle starting from day 3, i took 1 shot of 150 gonal f up until day 11.  With all of that only 1 mature follicle.  I though for sure it would fail.  Only takes one sperm and one egg...dont forget that.

keep in touch.

Well the baby wasnt cooperating too well and had its legs close together but the ultrasound tech (who is very good and has been doing this a long time) said there is nothing there that would make him believe that its a boy.  I asked him how sure he was that its a girl and he said 90 percent... so now I will have 2 girls...(lots of gymboree clothes to go around again haha)

Congratulations on having another girl!

I did talk to my RE. She said that my lining has always been very good on clomid.  She would only suggest using straight injectibles with me if we were going for IVF- which we aren't quite there yet.  Last month I definitely felt a difference being on follistim with the clomid, so my fingers are crossed for this month.

Hey im not sure but i'm doing some research on this infomation. One of my girlfriend did this and got BFP

Acupuncture and Infertility

On its own, acupuncture can be seen as an alternative way of treating fertility problems. It is also often seen as a complementary therapy to modern fertility treatments. When used alone, though, acupuncture is probably most effective for those couples who are experiencing a functional problem, like irregular ovulation, rather than a structural problem, like a blockage in the sperm ducts. Some practitioners will also recommend Chinese herbs for infertility that will supplement the acupuncture and any other treatment you may be receiving. If you take herbs while receiving other medical treatments, be sure to tell your doctor. Some herbs can interfere with the function of fertility drugs and procedures.
Why acupuncture works for infertility problems is still debatable. However, most practicing acupuncturists say that acupuncture helps by regulating your body’s system. This aids in blood flow to the reproductive organs and stabilizes hormone levels. This in turn will increase ovarian function in women as well as sperm production in men.

Used as a complementary form of therapy for women undergoing other fertility treatments, acupuncture has been proven to be especially beneficial. Some believe that acupuncture works by helping women stay more relaxed through stressful fertility treatments. In particular, studies have shown that acupuncture definitely increases the rate of pregnancy in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).

A German study done in 2002 showed that of the 80 women who underwent IVF and received acupuncture, 34 women got pregnant, a success rate of 42.5%. Of the 80 women involved in the study who received IVF without any acupuncture treatments, only 21 women (26.3%) became pregnant. More recently, an American study involving 114 women showed that 51% of the women who had acupuncture and IVF treatments became pregnant versus only 36% of the women who had IVF alone. Deeper analysis of this study revealed that, while 8% of the women in the acupuncture group miscarried, the rate of miscarriage in the IVF-only group was 20%. Furthermore, women who received acupuncture also had lower rates of ectopic pregnancies.

I was recommended by my RE to have fertility acupuncture done during the whole process of preparing for the IUI and after. I had 3 treatments prior to the procedure, one done an hour before the procedure and another 2 days post procedure. I go back this thursday for another treatment. The acupuncturist is a MD who specializes only in fertility. I must admit that I was kind of skeptical going in to the first treatment, but it did make me feel more relaxed and more "in tune" with what is going on with my body.  Just to give everyone some background info - I am 44 years, DH 37. We were both given a clean bill of health in the fertilty dept and have been TTC over this past year after my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage in the fall of 2007 (I was 9 weeks). This is our first IUI (and hopefully our last!!). I was told not to test sooner than Feb 16th (17 days post IUI) so I am hoping it will be a BFP!!! If so. I will be another positive acupuncture statistic!!

Today I am 15dpiui, Im not keeping count really, the office just happened to give me a calendar, which i cant stop staring at. They asked me not to test until 17dpiui because the prometrium will influence things. Im not sure how, but anyway my 17th day is Friday. I believe its a big fat negative though, i just dont feel pregnant. I will do as told, they do know what they are doing. If indeed its negative we are contemplating waiting some months to save money and go for the IVF. Does anyone know what the cost of IVF is? Im a state employee and have phenomenal insurance, it will cover 80% of all fertility procedures.

I am pretty new to this site, but i have to say all of you om here are great. I  had my second iui on Jan 22 I waited the 2 weeks took a test on thursday the 5 of Feb was BFN.
Called my RE office they told me to wait to see i start over the weekend if I didn't to come in on Monday and have a blood test done so I did that it was also negative so they told me to stop the progesterone  and I still have not got my AF. THIS CAN BE SO NERVE RECKING  THATS WHY THIS SITE IS SO GREAT.

Thank you all for your prayers. I am feeling fine now. Waiting for AF to come becuase I still have some hormones left in me. Will do a series of blood work to make sure it goes down to zero. My RE did a series of test with me and my husband but everything seems to be normal. no chromosomal problems etc. Even though I don't have problem with my progesteron level he made me take it this time as precaution. My utreus linnig is also good. I always produce more than three mature follicies with clomid so no problem there. Its just luck. May be it will happen soon. I will give IUI few more chances and then will move to IVF.

cb_hoping: Good luck for this cycle. you are in my prayers.

I do not know of any facilities in Atlanta but I do know that Capital One offers credit up to 40,000 for Infertility/Medical with a interest rate as low as 1.9% for 60months (I think the interest rate goes by your credit score). I myself am starting to research. If I find anything else I will certainly let you know.

I am so sorry about your loss, i know that at the moment no words can make you feel better.
i also have miscarried a few times in a row, and still i don't have any kids yet!
but i did have all different bloodtests done to find out what was causing the misscarrages.
All the bloodtest results where perfect (mine and DH's), but one of the thyroid antibodies test turned out to be positive(ANTI-THYROGLOBULIN). the doctor told me that those antibodies can destroy a pregnancy but playing up with the HCG levels, and it can affect implantation.(baby wount implant properly)
doctor also told me that if i get pregnant and don't take medication for those antibodies, pregnancy will result with misscarrage.

maybe your case might be like mine, try asking your doctor about it see what he/she have got to say.

And plz try not to stress, i know alot of ppl that misscarred a few times and now they have lovely children, DON'T GIVE UP HOPE.

I am very stress and sad right now. I don't know why I am blaming my husband for everything. I am not even talking to him. We got married when we were young and my husband did not want kids till we were established. Now after 8 years when we have good jobs we are struggling with this. We don't have families in US. All we have is each other. He is very nice and very caring and does not say anything back. Sometime that makes me more angry. I know I am wrong but am feeling like this.

Hi Everyone... I am back... we tried naturally last month after 1 failed IUI in Dec... no luck... We started another clomid cycle and my next IUI will be tomorrow... I dread the upcoming 2ww... my husband and I have unexplained infertility and have been trying for 16-17 cycles... we are both in our early thirties...

Just to put it out there, I started acupuncture last month mid cycle to ease the stress and my reaction to the clomid.. I really love it... Not sure if it will "get me pregnant" but I believe my body is responding to it... the things we do....

Hope2009 - Hang in there... its natural to be upset, but you and your husband need to be a team... men express/feel pain differently than us... when the going gets tough... you need to lean on each other, not push each other away... you have no way of knowing if 8 years ago you would have conceived or if you did where it would leave you today... God is testing your patience.... (all of us)... Go talk to your husband... sorry to be pushy.... you just don't need additional stress on top of all this baby stuff....

Truly understand your frustration but Mollie girl is right.  This is a test to all of us.  Lean not unto our own understanding.  Go talk to your husband cry let it all out.  Don't let your anger get in you and hubby way of getting the blessing.  You will have these babies soon.  Hold on and be strong.  Sometimes it takes we need to look at ourselves in the mirror and come to the realization that it will be okay God will see us through. I know through it all this too shall pass.  The babies are on their way.  The blessing can't come without the unity of you and hubby.  Go and make up, after you pray and cry it all out.    Let those build up emotions out so your body can be stress free.
Praying for you right now.

I too suffered through a miscarriage after 7years ttc.  No one around you knows how you feel, even you husband.  There are different emotions women go thru than men.  I know my husband would say to me..Its going to be ok, we will just try again...I would get so mad when he would say stuff like that.  I found myself doing the same thing you are doing now, but one day I finally went to him and told him I just need you to hug me and tell me you love me, its going to be ok, just cry and let it out.  And the main thing that got us through was the Lord.  We truly came together through God, it made us stronger in our love for each other and in my hope to have another child.  I finally conceived three years later to a beautiful girl who is truly my miracle from God.  Keep your hope alive in God!  You will be in my prayers.

We got a BFN today, Im okay with it. Ive got the understanding that its all about probability and chance and it will happen when God is ready to make us parents. I do feel like we are gambling from month to month. Gambling not only with our money but also our emotions, marriage, and work (having to take time off). Its the luck of the draw, it depends on whether we have the strength and patience to continue. I have the strength to keep going, somtimes not the patience. We will move on to IVF in time, its just so costly. Good Luck to Everyone.....baby dust!

HI Everyone! As if things can't be worse for all of us.... Its Friday the 13th and we have our 2nd IUI ... my husband produced at home and gave the sample to me to bring to the doctor..I dropped it..... it spilled.... can you believe i friggen dropped it...... the doctor thought we saved enough, she ran the test and their were no viable sperm....(my husband has a normal sperm count) - then she asked why it was so warm when we arrived - they tell you to keep the sperm warm and so I placed the container in my small heating pad (which was warmed before we left) and she said that too warm is no good and that probably killed the sperm.. what the heck.... I guess it just isn't our day... all the money for clomid, ultrasounds, bloodwork, and ovidrel this month..... down the drain... maybe its just not meant to be.... my husband is on his way back to the doctors to produce there to see if (if he can, and if its enough - i can't imagine it will be with only one hour in between)..... keep us in your thoughts.... God gives us strength and only what we can handle, so I know we'll get through.... I can't imagine raising a child being harder than making one....maybe one day I will be able to see...

Hello all - I posted my last comment 1 year and 1 month ago.  It was my first pregnancy and I miscarried.  It was the worse moments of my life and you all were there to guide me through it.  Since that time we have been trying with no success.

Right now I am 11dpiui.  My first pregnancy wasn't successful due to my low pregesterone levels.  They tried to save the pregnancy with pregesterone in oil shots and prometrium twice a day.  Now with this IUI they started me on progesterone in oil shots 3 days piui along with 1 prometrium supository at night.  I am very anxious, and scared for monday (they're doing beta's to see if i'm pregnant).  My DH keeps asking me if I feel anything and if I think this time will work.  His SC was 102million with 87% mobility so we know it's not him.  I was told 2 years ago i have PCOS.  This is my second attempt at IUI (8 month break in between; we tried to do it naturally during that time but no luck) and did Gonal-f and ovidril with i/c for a year and a half before that.

I am beginning to get so desparate. I feel all your pain and all your excitement at the same time. I hope all goes well for each and every one of you. Good luck to all the expecting moms and many prayers to those who are still ttc.

I will keep you all posted on Monday!

dbtrfli- So sorry about the bfn but you are right when god says your ready it will happen just hang in there.

Hope- I am so sorry to hear about your loss I wish you the best and remember that god has a plan for you and that sometimes it may not be clear at first you will find your path soon.

molliegirl- Sometimes the strangest things that happen to us are the best hopefully the next sample will be enough. Have you asked if tomorrow they can do an IUI?

babybluey20- I hope that you get a BFP. I to am on pregesterone in oil shots and also started 3dpiui so I know how you feel I think they hurt but what we do to have little ones right.

All- Well yesterday I went to have my pregesterone done at exactly 6dpiui and it was a 64 which took my stress level down to 0 I was very worried about that because my first IUI my level was only 7 with the pills so this makes me feel alot better. I test on 2-18 it feels a little strange just waiting I don't know what to think. I took the day off work so that I can have some time when I find out if I will have a little one or not I just felt that was the best.

Well God Bless and Baby Dust  to all!

Yes, the shots do hurt. And it hurts my DH every time he has to do it for me (I can't do it myself).  Have you had any pregnancy symptoms yet?  Any implantation bleeding?  I feel slight cramping and my bbs hurt so bad, until today....I hope it's not something bad; I hope af isn't coming :(  They will not check my progesterone levels until they do my beta test on the 16th which would be 14dpiui.

I hope it works out for you.  Keep us posted!

I have had no implantation bleeding I am kinda happy I didnt because I think I would have thought the worse and it would have made me stress. I have some slight cramps here and there nothing real major and only my nips hurt not really the whole bb but my dh did notice that my glands in my bbs are getting larger and that my vains are poping out and when I take off my bra it feels like a big weight has just been let go, sorry to much info. The only other thing I have noticed is that I am hungary all the time my goodness I could just eat and eat I dont know if thats a sign or if im just on edge and need to get my mind off of things and I am a little more sleepy than normal but when my af comes I get sleepy alot. I guess like you I just dont know what to think im so lost. When I talked with my dr yesterday they said my injections can play tricks on you so I just don't know. The last IuI I had done they did a progesterone check at day 6 to thats how they told me my level was to low at a 7 but this time its a 64 and that makes me very happy I wish progesterone levels could kinda give you a hint as to if your expecting or not. Whey dosn't your dr check your progesterone levels? I thought all did be for takeing a preggers test.

I also hope it works for you as well I dont know about your but this 2ww is getting to me. My fingers are crossed for you and baby dust lets hope you get a bfp. Keep us posted!

molliegirl: I'm very soory for what happened to you. Ask the RE if he can do the IUI again in the same cycle. Usually we (my husband and myself) go together to the doctor and my DH collects the sample there in a room given. Anyway. Good luck.

All: I don't still know about my result. I have tested and found a faint second line. I have an appointment with the doctor on Monday and I will let you know the result then. I believe God is with me this time.

Happy Valentines Day!  I just had my second beta at 14dpiui and it has doubled is at 133 yahoo!  We have been trying for 2 years and i am 40 so this is really exciting.  This was out first month on injectables with iui. I had 2 miscarriages last year and they found out i have the double mutation of MTHFR so now that i am pregnant i have to give myself a shot everyday of a blood thinner called lovenox to counteract the blood mutation which they think may have caused my misscariages last year. Ayway hoping for great news from all of you!

Hi everyone,

I am writing after a long time. Currently I am 10 weeks pregnant. Few months back I was a regular in this site.

I would like to say something to you all…  my second IUI worked. And I took a hpt 13dpIUI and that was a BFP. Before that and even after that I had no symptoms what so ever. Well actually I had very little bf like crams for a while and 1 or 2 strong crams.

My point is if you are not having symptoms ….it’s ok. You still can get good news in the end of ur 2ww.

Every one says that I am really lucky since so far I didn’t have any morning sickness or any other thing, yes I have grown a cup size but my bb’s didn’t hart that much. I still take hpt’s once in a while since sometimes I get confused if I am really pregnant or not….

Lots and lots of baby dust to allllllll…..

Welcome to this board. All are very friendly here and very supportive.
I have read somewhere that the cramping is common after the IUI and also the soreness in breasts. It may be either a symptom of early pregnancy or due to the progesterone that we take after the IUI.
Our body usually gets adjusted to the progesterone and later the soreness decreases. Good luck for your test. May God show His grace upon you.

by molliegirl, Feb 15, 2009 06:46AM
Samy1402 & all-

90 minutes after the "drop" my husband went to the RE's office to produce again... the sample was half the size as the one last month (we expected that) bu the doctor reminded us we only need one.... so its the best we could do at the time...

Samy- crazy that your doctor said to keep it cold, our says to keep it body temp/warm... they said next time, no heating pad - just put it in your shirt against your skin??? Either way, next time he will do it at the office.

so we are 2dpiui.....ugh... I go for bw on 2/27...

Good luck to everyone

mandy132- Welcome to the site its a great place to get support from others and get questions answered baby dust to you.

molliegirl- Im so happy you were able to go on with the IUI hopefuly you get that one little man to do its job :).

Sam1402- I agree with molliegirl I have never heard to keep a sample cold my dr always says to keep it warm you might want to check again.

All- With an HCG injection is it that it will only give you a fals positive or can it give you a fals negative to.11dpiui and wanting to test

by lilyanne82, Feb 15, 2009 11:38AM
To: chrissyanddan
with the Hcg injection it is more likely that it will give you a false positive more then giving you a false negative.
if you test too early it WILL give you a false positive. (if there is no pregnancy)
goodluck!! i hope you get a BFP.

Emmaspook-  congratulations! i hope everything goes well with you.

ALL- I have started injections for #2 IUI, But i did have a follicle (17mm)from previous cycle, the doctor said it is small and i can start injections. i have an appointment on tuesday to see how everything is going. Wish me luck!

Hi there:
Your postings are all very helpful. Thanks! Just want to share my personal experience, which was kind of odd.

I had an IUI last Sept. 25 (clomid 100 mg) 2008. On my 15th date post IUI I checked (day 14th was on a business trip), got negative result (very disappointed). A couple of days later had my period (not that different from my normal period). However, my normal period turned into a small amount dark brownish discharge/spotting for the next 3 plus weeks! (my period usually finishes on Day 5 and I never have spotting in between). The week after spotting started, I had violent dreams almost every night. I dream a lot usually, however, never violent dreams that left unpleasant feelings. I teased my husband who was traveling overseas at that time that I missed his protection so badly. The more I thought about my condition the more I wanted to take a pregnancy test (I heard hormone change can bring violent dreams to some women). The result turned out to be positive! (sometime ~ Oct.29 ). On Nov.5, I told my parents when we celebrated 65th B-day for my dad. Of course they were so thrilled! Unfortunately, later that week the blood test showed that I was going to have a miscarriage. Later my OB told me that I had a chemical pregnancy (I was never pregnant before, 32-yr). I felt that since I didn't get a positive result on the 15th day after IUI, which might indicate that something was not going well. We had BMS a couple of times after the IUI but before my period started (out of my ovulation window already). So we think the first IUI worked, however, didn’t work correctly.

We are hoping to get our second IUI with clomid this March. This time, I will try to lay low afterwards and avoid travel if I can during the 2ww. I will definitely wait for a while before sharing the news with parents or other family members ;-) Good luck to you all!

I am 10 days past IUI.  I had three eggs.   Yesterday, my boyfriend of nearly 10 years left me.  Does stress interfere with the implantation of an embryo?

Just a  quick question as I am checking in on everyone...I am only cd 15 no meds this cycle because of left over follies from last month...I started having cramps today and started a dark discharge (tmi) like old blood??? Could this be from the follicle...according to askdramy.com my fertile days are 2/12-2/17 and implanation is 2/22...we are not taking any meds but metformin because I have pcos and fertility blend from gnc this month and suggestion on what this could be? we have be bd'n regularly some days 2x (tmi) its been a busy week!

Welcome to all the newbies this is the most supportive forum you will find. To all the bfp's congrats and sticky vibes to any bfn's baby dust to all of us as we continue on the journey to make our dreams come true. Trus God we are in his hands...God Bless you all! :)

Well today I went and had my beta done....and...I got a BFP!!!  HCG is 88.1 which the doc said is great!!  We are so very excited but very scared to tell anyone right now because of my past miscarriages (I want to shout to the world but DH wants to wait).  I go back on the 18th to see if the numbers are doubling.  They advised to stay on the Prog in oil shots along with the prometrium and baby asprin.  They don't have the progesterone level yet...

ChrisandDanny...I can't wait to hear the great news on Wed!!!  Think positive thoughts and pray as much as possible.  Just to let you know also, I did a HPT at 9dpiui and got a BFN. I tested again at 11dpiui and still got a BFN so I didn't think the iui worked.  I think it is possible to get a false negative.

I went to my doctor today and she has done an USG. She declared that I am pregnant. Thanks to the Almighty who helped me in all this process. It all happened only because of Him.
I have been TTC for nearly 4 years and this is my first pregnancy. My 2nd IUI worked on well with me. The doctor gave me a HCG injection and told to take HCG every week till the completion of 12 weeks.
All my family members are happy with me. Thank God.

Hope2009-I'm sorry for what you're going through. Just know that God has a plan for all of us. It was very hard for me to believe that before today, so I understand what you're going through. But hang in there. You will get your dream soon.  I did my first IUI back in June 2008 and then couldn't take anymore so tried naturally for 8 months until this IUI attempt. Just don't give up hope!

ChrissyandDanny - Yes, this is my first.  Definitely test, but know that if it's not what you want to see that it doesn't necessarily mean bad news.  Like I said, I tested twice and it was aweful to see that negative. I think that's why I cried so hard today when they told me that I was pregnant. I didn't believe them!   I definitely hope we can go through our pregnancy together.  Especially since we're on the same meds and just 2 days apart!!  Let us know how the test tomorrow goes and of course the big one on Wed!!

I have tested on 16dpiui and got a very faint line. So don't loose your hope and try to wait for few more days before testing. Meanwhile don't think too much about this and keep yourself engaged in someother activity. Try to be happy. Watch the movies that give pleasure to you and something else.
Well, I too did not have any symptoms. I just had mild cramping right from the day of IUI to the day when I went to the doctor(22dpiui).So don't worry. Try to be positive. Let's hope for the best.Good luck.

ChrissyandDanny - I hope you hear great news today. I keep checking the board to see if you posted.  I've been having slight cramping and my bbs are starting to hurt bad again, but not as bad as when I first started the prog in oil shots at 3dpiui.  They said that my body is just getting used to the prog so that's why they don't hurt as much and soon won't hurt at all for a while. I'm also very tired and started getting really bad headaches.  Yesterday's headache lasted from morning until I went to bed!!  Other than that, nothing else. I sometimes feel a little naseous, but nothing that stops me in my tracks.  I really am praying for you. Can't wait to hear from you!

All - went and had my second beta's done today and they went from 88.1 to 196!! Prog is >40.  They couldn't give me an exact number because they said their machine only reads to 40 and if it's more it just shows >40.  Doctor's said I don't have to go back until my u/s on 3/2. I'm still very scared.  I think once I see the heart beating I will feel much better.  Thanks again for the congrats. I am praying for each and every one of you!!  LOTS AND LOTS OF BABY DUST!!!

Thank you very much for your words, they were really nice. I just happen to be a bit stressed 'cause my DH is having anxiety and going through a bit of depression so I just know that good news would really make his day better. But like you say gotta stay possitive...so I am going to play tennis that will keep our minds off of all this stress....THank you again....Baby dust to all!!!!!!!!!!

First I want to cogradulate evry 1 on a successful expereince. I am new here. I have been reading many ppls posts and decided to join because I am going though similar expereinces. I have tried IUI last year in January 08. It led to a successful pregnancy of triplet but unfortunately my body coun't hold all so in April 08 I miscarried one and since I was only 12wks in, they had to take the other 2. I was very hurt as well as my family members. The pregnancy was horrible. I was sick all 12 wks so I guess it was a relief after all. Now I have returned to the doctor as of December of 08 to try IVF. I have already been through the many months of meds, been through the retreival and transfer and now I am currently taking prog waitin to get my results at my next docts' appt. on 2-20. I am so anxious to find out that I took a hpt on 2-14, which I know was way to soon, and it was a BFN. so hopefully i will have good news to share on friday. Please pray for me as I am doing for many that I have read about. I am 27 and the last pregnancy was my first, so it really hurt me to loss all of them at once. I am praying that this time is a success. They reteived 32 eggs to be fertilized. 17 of them were fertilized but only 11 were good enough to use. my doc. suggested tranfering 1  emb. this time due too my previous experience so I did. I have my fingers crossed!!!!! ps.thanx dbtrfli for the abbreviations, they helped me understand alot....LMAO... KIT and TIA
