hi! i wrote you guys almost two weeks ago to tell you that i am pregnant. i was so thrilled to learn of my pregnancy but it did not last long. i was in the ER twiceTwice-a-day and last saturday, the doctor said that i miscarried or in the process of miscarrying. my hcg level is dropping and i had cramping and spottingVaginal bleeding between periods before i had the miscarriage. i had the doctor's appointment yesterday and he confirmed it. i will go through a series of blood test until my hcg level is less than 5. the doctor said it happens. it's because the fetus is not developing perfectly.
we can try again and do the same process aftertwo cycles. for now, we need to rest and wait to the right time to start all over again. sorry for my bad news. just an update.
Yeah, I don't know why they would close for a state holiday, whatever! And yeah, I guess they said it was up to us if we wanted to do a second round even though it was so much later....last month we missed out because the second day fell on a Sunday when they were closed, so this month we said ah, what the heck it only costs an adiitional $150. The first one costs almost $400, so we figured it was worth a shot since the egg could still be viable. The egg is viable for 24-48 hours right? It's a slim chance of the second one doing anything, but we felt like it was worth a shot since I did have 2 eggs this month...maybe one is a little slower or something, LOL! The office leaves everything up to us...like my husband and I know anything about what is best.
Anyway like I said, I think I may have to find a new RE if this round does not take.
As for me today...I feel nothing, I'm not even feeling moody like I did with the last one. No cramping, very little spotting yesterday, other than that I'm perfect...don't know if that's good or bad? The last IUI was miserable, I was super crampy, spotted for days, sore butt from the trigger shot, and very moody and sensitive (I kept crying for no reason)
Michelleinhawaii - I have made some research and found out that the egg has live up to 48 hour so you are rigth there in the spot. I really wish the process went well on you this time. Your symptoms are different now so lets expect for the best!! Keep hanging there, dont lose your faith, keep positive but without overwhelming too much. Be strong this 2ww....We are here for you!!!
Kikayinla - So sorry for your lost. It has to be very hard on you guys. I imagine you are under a lot of emotions right now. Take good care.
Today at lunch I went shopping to relax and let my emotions at the cash register. lol Good luck to everyone testing soon! For me 3.5 half days to go...
So sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot even imagine what you are going through right now. Try and stay strong and keep a positive outlook. Remember you were pregnant so you know that you can get pregnant again. Relax for a while and then start up again. Hang in there.
So sorry to hear about your loss.i can very well understand ur pain and sorrow i had a loss at 12 weeks. It is very hard to face such a mishap but its all in GOD's hands.Be strong and have faith in GOD.
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. After trying for so long, it's gotta be tough. it seems like you have a great attitude, so that helps. The break from trying may be a bummer, but try to enjoy it...you know, wine, bding that is not scheduled:)
Sorry to hear about your loss. Like mary said, you got pregnant once so you know you can get pregnant again and that's the positive in all this. Stay stong, take time to grieve and take care of you and your husband.
Thanks for checking on how long an egg stays viable for...I'm glad that 48 hours was correct, so there is hope. wow, 3 more days ((((((very very sticky baby dust to you))))))
All ~ I feel so good about doing the 2 IUI's this month, it's like I have 2 chances. And I had my acupuncture appointment today and that made me feel really good. She provides me with the mental and emotional support that traditional medicine does not provide me with. She told me to "smile" and send it down to my uterus, so it was a welcoming environment...I thought that was really cute :-) It's just so relaxing, I'm hooked now. She also told me to drink raspberry leaf tea... it is suppose to help tone the uterus. Just some fun facts I learned today during my treatment session
OH MY GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT DRINK THE TEA!!!!!!!!!!! My RE told me to stay away from raspberry leaf ANYTHING!!!!!! I really hope you didn't do do it yet. :(
Kikayinla, I am very sorry for all that you went through and are going through now. I hope things turn around completely for you.
Like all the other ladies on here, I want to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. Such a contrast in emotions, you were on a high and happy and excited and then come crashing down to sadness and disbelief. Take time to grief and be sad, and know that you are able to get pregnant, and you WILL again! My thoughts are with you.
Thanks for your note. I did indeed speak to my RE and she said my illness would not effect ovulation. I have 3 more days on the antibiotic so hopefully that will be finished by the time the IUI is done. She alo mentioned (for those that ever find themselves in this situation) that the antibiotics cannot harm chances of conceiving OR the fetus if already pregnant, but the infection CAN. So if you find yourselves sick with flu or strepp or whatever, it's best to get rid of it instead of letting it run it's course like I was planning on doing.
What did your RE say about red raspberry leaf???? I have been drinking red raspberry leaf and red clover teas for the last 2 months or so. I have heard so much about them being GOOD for you (and your uterus) while trying to conceive. Now I'm nervous I've done damage. Whatever information you can relay would be great! Thanks!!
your story brought so much sadness to me because i can just imagine your feeling when you heard you just lost a precious pregnancy.any be positive and God will bless you again soon.YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS.
Honestly, I don't remember exactly what she said, so I did a search on the web and found this (it wasn't a very extensive search, this is the first thing I found - you'd probably find more if you looked):
Which teas are not safe?
Many of the herbs used for teas, when taken in large or medicinal amounts, can potentially stimulate the uterus and induce miscarriage. These include anise, catnip, chamomile, comfrey, ephedra (called ma huang in traditional Chinese medicine), European mistletoe, hibiscus, horehound, Labrador, lemongrass, licorice root, mugwort, pennyroyal, raspberry leaf, rosemary, sage, sassafras, stinging nettle leaf, vetiver, and yarrow.
Although some midwives use raspberry leaf (also known as red raspberry leaf) to aid delivery, its effectiveness hasn't been proven. In any case, it should be used only near term and under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Avoid the rest of the herbs in this list during pregnancy and lactation.

Hi,
Thanks for forwarding tis! Honetly, at this point I think it's best not to risk anything. I know my Acupuncturist is big on herbs and teas but I think I'm going to just go au natural from here on in!
I see you are also in NY..can I ask which fertility Dr/clinic you are going to? I'm going to NYU Fertility Center and at first I loved them, and the Dr etc, but now it's feeling a bit like a factory, there was a line up of women this morning in for their monitoring, n and out QUICK..I haven't actually seen my Dr since the first consultation back in May! Would love your input. Thanks again!
Hey ladies, I am back and with not so great news. I had some cramping on Sunday, heavy bleeding on Monday w/ clots and all. It was much less on Tuesday and was gone by Wednesday. Had to get another blood test today because they have to make sure my hormone levels are going down for next month trying... looks like my levels dipped and miscarried...Really sad about it all. So close to just pure happiness; well at least I know it took this time. Still, it's hard to swollow.
KBHope24- How are you today? Any news? I really hope they find a way to work things out. In case you need good financial help, I know capital one is offering pretty good deals on their health related loans (including fertility treatments). Please keep me/us up to date. Praying for you!
kikayinla- Hey, I know you were further along but I hope it helps to know that you are not alone with those rollercoaster feelings. Really sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear your bad news. Try and be strong. Hang in there. I know how hard it was for me to hear BFN so I cannot even imagine what you are going thru. Like you said, at least it took so hopefully next round it will take again and your levels will stay high. Try and enjoy your weekend, do something fun, and have a drink! or 2 :)
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong!
About this raspberry leaf tea...I don't know? right on the box it says it's good for women in aiding with menstration and toning the uterus, however it does say if you are pregnant to ask a dr. before use. I think it's okay up until you find out you are pregnant. At this point I trust the acupuncturist over my RE.
I'm gonna do some reasearch on it and see what I can find.
Yeah, I don't know a lot of mixed reviews about this raspberry leaf tea...maybe 1 cup a day until you find out you are pregnant is safe? It's so delicious with honey!
hi! i am so sorry for your loss. i know the feeling, it's difficult but we have to move on. i will keep you in my prayers.
to all,
thank you very much for your support and prayers. i read a lot of stories of having miscarriages and it cannot really be avoided. even the wife of my OB-GYN had 2 miscarriages.
I am sorry for your loss. I miscarried right after New Years and was told to go home and wait for it to happen...the hardiest thing I ever had to experience mentally and physically. But you to as well as myself will get pass your loss. Just remember it's not your fault. Just another way of GOD saying that HE wants you to have a perfect child rather than one that may had some complications or birth defects that's the only way I got thru it.....My prayers will be with you and pray for your blessings to come true!
Bibi22 - I am also sorry for what you're going through. I have nothing positive to say about this -- it's just horrible, and I think I'll let you have that without me clouding it up with my thoughts.
lolagirl212 - Yeah, I'm in NY too. But I left the city after 9/11. I live on Long Island now. I'm going to RS of NY. I don't think they have any locations in Manhattan. Just Brooklyn and LI. I really like my doctor, I've actually been seeing her for years even though we weren't trying that whole time. She treats my PCOS full time! But I'm not sure that the office setting is much different - you're in and out of there quick too. I don't always see my doctor. I can ask for her, but on the days of my cycle when I'm in there, she isn't necessarily there then. So it's whoever is there. Also, I'm not pregnant in case you haven't noticed (LOL!) so I can't say they're better than any other office! But overall, if there was a Manhattan location, I'd tell you to try them - if you call, a dr will call you back, and the treatment you get from the staff is always pleasant.
Michelle - I don't know what to say about the tea... I would do backbends over hot coals every night if the doctor said it would help. On the other hand, if she told me to stop drinking fluids altogether or it would hurt my chances of having a baby I would do that too. So the raspberry leaf thing is definitely off my list.
Someone in here needs to leave pregnant and only come back when they have a baby. :p
Generally the injections go for about 10-12 days depending on how long it takes your follicles to mature. I did it for 12 and then I got an extra shot to make me ovulate. I just got a BNF this week, and I find out on Monday if I get to try again, or if I have to wait a month. I would have to wait if I I have cycsts, and go on BCP for a month (I really just want to try again without waiting)
Good luck, I hope it works out for you...BABY DUST!!!
Hi,
I think you are right, that no matter where you go, it's never going to be perfect. I basically like the fertility clinic I have been going to, but they are SO expensive (My insurance pays for nothing naturally!) and they close the entire month of August! Crazy! Here's to hoping June is the month!!
As far as the teas go..I think I'm going to steer clear. I DID recently hear that wheatgrass is supposed to be great for (supposedly) lowering the FSH levels. There is a book I heard about called "Inconceivable" where one women went on somewhat of a mission to get pregnant when all her Drs told her it would never happen..needless to say, she is now a happy Mom! Apparently wheatgrass played a key role. It's gross but I'm all over it ;)
Ok, I'm back in the 2WW game. Had my 2nd IUI this morning (Not sure if I'm going to do a back to back IUI tomorrow?) Anyone have any thoughst on doing 2 IUIs 24hrs apart?
JENNY909 - You and I are a day apart..keep me posted on how it's all going for you! :)
Had my 2 IUI's, 3 and 5 days ago on June 10th and 12th.
LolaGirl ~ I had my IUI's 48 hrs apart, but my dr. does not give the trigger dhot until after the IUI, so it makes the IUI's more like 36 hours apart since the trigger shot takes 10-12 hours. I feel more confindent this cycle, like I have 2 chances instead of 1 and the office I go to charges less than half price for the second one...almost like a buy one get the second half off kind of deal, LOL. The dr. says it increase your chances by 6% by doing back to back IUI's...I'll take it! yeah, I stopped drinking the tea...back to drinking only warm water!!!
i had my iui back to back,24hrs interval,i think that was what made my iui work with BRP.so go for another one tomorrow, hopefully it will work for you too.
Well if it helped get you to the BFP then I'm game ;) I made the appointment for tomorrows 2nd IUI and think I will keep it. It will be 24 hrs like yours. Did you have the trigger shot with those IUIs? I haven't done that since my RE said I probably didn't need it since I was surging naturally. Ok, so we will see! How are you feeling???
Hi
WOW..you sound like you are going to a great place..the 2nd IUI less than half the price? I joked with my Dr about the "buy 1 get one 1/2 off" today and she wasn't finding the humor in it. The price is the price. PLEASE lord let me be pregnant this month since this month alone cost me $1500..ouch!
I'm so glad you are feeling confident this month..this is great..I know what you mean about twice the chance.I'm kind of in that same mind set. Wishing you many good thoughts for this cycle!!!
Is anyone here from Toronto? I am looking into trying to get an appointment with Repromed clinic, anyone at that clinic or heard any reviews? The last appointment I had with the Dr. at my current clinic turned me off a bit, and I just can't seem to get passed it. I may be starting my 2nd try at IUI tomorrow with injections (if I don't have cysts), but I am now thinking of waiting to see if I should change...this never get easy!?!?!?
Hello -- Yes I started my follistim injections on 6/6 then on saturday 6/14 they decreased my dose -- had another us on Sunday and I have a total of 5 eggs the biggest measuring 20 and the smallest measuring 14 My IUI is scheduled for tomorrow 6/17. I triggered lastnight.
Hello Ladies, just to give you an update. We had our first IUI 2 weeks ago and today I was supposed to get tested...but my AF came in first. So I'm feeling very sad at the moment but trying to think positive and get ready for our next step. My husband has low sperm count 5 million before washing. Does anyone has the same problem? Not sure what to do , another IUI or go to IVF. We are both 35 years old.
Hello,
I haven't been on this board for a little while. You and I were on the exact same cycle last month. I won't be doing my IUI's until the end of this week but read that you just did yours. Is your cycle shorter this month?
Sorry to hear you got your AF. My husband doesn't have low sperm count but before we started fertility treatment we went thru tests to check to see where the problem might be with my Gyno and his Urologist. My husband is on blood pressure medicine and his urologist said that the medicine could lower his count. He still had about average 65 million count (before washing) which is plenty for the IUI and he once had 121 million so it fluctuates.... But his urologist said that if we wanted to try naturally, he suggested that he try "Fertility Blend for Men." It's tablets the men can take to boost their sperm count, motility, shape, etc. You can purchase it at GNC or you can get it cheaper from Amazon. My husband takes them now while we go through the IUI procedure (we figure it can't hurt the situation incase his blood pressure medicine does effect his count) and he has had even better of a count.. so i guess it works. Just thought I would let you know about it. Maybe you can purchase it and his count would increase?? My RE said that he only needs 1 million washed sperm to do a IUI procedure. I hope this helps... Stay strong.
Thank you very much for your recommendations!! I asked my RE today about his sperm count after washing for our past IUI and it was 1.5 million, kind of low... :-( On my way home I will stop by the GNC and buy the tablets you recommended. He is already taken a vitamin supplement "One for men" and extra vitamin C and E. When we first found out in Nov. his sperm count was only 2 million, and it increased over the months to 5 million.!! so I guess the vitamins helped him a lot. Thanks so much for letting me know. Tomorrow I plan to go back to my RE to do the sonogram and hopefully we can continue with our 2 IUI this month. Best wishes to you and your husband! Baby Dust!!
stay positive... As long as he is above the 1 million washed, you guys should be golden. Good luck with your next round. I hope to start my injections next week for my 2nd IUI. Hopefully we start seeing more BFP!!!!! There has been too many BFN lately.
Hi Linda,
I know, we were on the same cycle, but YES this month AF came at 25 days which is very early. I'm normally 27-28 days like clockwork. My RE asked if I was under a lot of stress last month (uuuhh YEA!) so that wis probably why. I also think I ovulate earlier than I had originally thought. So at day 12 in my cycle was the 1st IUI. Today I had my 2nd at day 13. So you are due to go in Thurs or Fri? Will you be doing a single IUI or 2 back to back?
Rainbow, sorry about your AF. :( I hope next month is your month. You sound like you're handling it well - good for you.
Michelle - I actually do NOT feel well this time. I didn't feel great before either, but I'm VERY crampy this time. I am 6 dpiui today, and today and yesterday I felt horribly crampy. I also feel very emotional, which is unlike me. My anniversary (and my husband's bday) was Saturday, and I don't think I made it very nice for him!! :) I have decided to test on Saturday morning, even thought that's only 11 dpiui. Just because it's the day of my brother's stupid second wedding (can you tell how badly I want to go??) and I figure if it's a BFP I'll feel better about going, and if it's a BFN, I'll already be depressed! What do you think?
yes i got the trigger shot and had the iui back to back with 24hrs interval.i am feeling great,if not for the blood work to chech the hc g and progesterol level and the sonogram,i will think i am not pregnant.i am going to my 7th week now.thanks for asking.i will have you and all in my prayer so that BFP will be yours sooner than expected.
Hello,
I take it you got monitored this month. I will pray that things work out for you.
At my blood and ultrasound this morning, the nurse told me that my follicles are maturing nicely (whatever that means!!), She also told me that I have 3 follicles this month, where I had 2 last month. I hope that increases my chances! Anyway, she predicts that I will be getting my IUI's either on Wed & Thursday or on Thursday & Friday of this week. I will have 2 back-to-back inseminations with a HcG trigger shot the evening before my first IUI. I was seriously going to skip this month because of the craziness with the end-of-year school stuff, but I had a last minute change of heart. It's been stressful getting up so early for bloodwork and ultrasounds but I am sure it will be worth it once we get our BFP.
Good luck.
Linda
Hey everyone.... I just tried to call my dr's office, and they were closed... So I'll ask you all. You guys probably have as much experience with this stuff as the doctors do ANYWAY!! :) Like I said in my earlier post, I'm feeling very crampy. But it's getting worse and worse. I'm only 6dpiui - does anyone think I should worry??? It's like AF cramps. They were milder, but started yesterday. Now I feel like I need to sit down. :( I took Clomid for this and my last cycle - didn't have this last time. No trigger shot, so it can't be that. I hope it's nothing.
Just checking in with all of you, hoping to find good news...they must come those good news.
Today I was real sad again b/c it is official now, my levels dropped almost 50% and therefore I miscarried.
It's not that I didn't know already but there is some extra power in that official piece. Holding out for July now. I am wondering if I should try two IUIs as well. It's going to be my third IUI and I would just love to think that the third is charmed and maybe a little extra help wouldn't hurt. God bless all of you!
I don't think you should test on Saturday, just wait. I tested last cycle at 10dpiui and got a BFP, only to be disappointed later :-( That trigger shot can stay in your system a pretty long time giving a false positive and false hope. And if you get a BFN, you'll just get yourself crazy and the start in the "daily testing zone", wondering if maybe it's just too early...maybe I should try tomorrow. Even though it's really hard, It's just better to wait. I'm having a hard time too...I'm a little anxious, but trying to keep busy and trying not to think about it to much.
As far as your cramping...My last cycle was pretty aweful. I had major carmaping and a lot of spotting from about 3dpiui until 8dpiui. I could hardly walk for about 2 days from the trigger shot (guess she gave it in the wrong spot?) and I was like a crazy hormone monster, crying and yelling constantly. It was just really terrible and I was just miserable. I think it's probably normal and just a bad cycle...maybe you're stressing your body out too much. Try going for a walk or start reading a book. I started reading the book Eat, Pray, Love and it helps to keep my mind from obsessing about the IUI too much... I'm too busy lost in my book to think about it :-) Hang in there...it's 1 more week.
Liv4baby, I'm with Michelle, dont' test too early!!!! It will just get you down and that can be soooo hard.
bibi22, I'm so sorry for your loss. This must be hard all over again, I'm thinking of you.
lolagirl212 and lindaintoronto, I'm having my IUI tomorrow, so we'll be close together!
All, I had my sono today and only have 1 follicle. I'm pretty disappointed, I was really hoping for a better chance....I know "it only takes one"(how many times have we all heard that???), but 1 isn't many. I also had to drive all over to find a pharmacy that could give me the trigger shot. I was starting to think that the time wasn't right at all! So, I'm already not that hopeful this month. The nurse today also asked me how many IUI's my insurance would cover, so that tells me I'm coming to the end of the road. Ugh. Of course, my doctor wanted to discuss this tomorrow, and when I called my insurance wouldnt' give us and answer and told us they'd put some info in the mail for us to read. Soooo, that doesn't help. I'm trying not to think about it.....but that never works for me. I hope someone else is having better luck:)
Does anyone know of a fertility clinic in Southern California? I am going to my gyn. now and think that it is time to go to a clinic. I was thinking about going to Loma Linda Hospital but they are soooo expensive. Any info would be appreciated.
You need to take a lot of rest.Hot water bags should help to relieve your pain.I did the same and it helped alot.
Im new to this community .TTC for 5 years. This is my 5th IUI and im in the 2ww period too.....
We have decided to relax this month and be free of treatment before trying our 2 IUI. We are both very stress and think is not the right moment to continue like that. We will rent a villa at the beach the weekend of my ovulation and give it a try. For now my husband will be taking vitamin supplements: One for Men, Vitamin C, E and the supplement recommended by mary986 "Fertility Blend for Men"..Wao!!! can't wait to see the results...
Good luck for all of you trying again!! I WILL happen to all of us!!! Keep your hopes up to the sky, take good care and stay healthy.... I'll keep you posted...
Mary986 - thanks for your advice...I went ahead and purchase the supplement at GNC yesterday...
And GOOD LUCk to all of you having IUI this week...There are a few...Hope to hear some GOOD NEWS!!!
Eckarky - Good luck..lots of baby dust...
live4baby - hope you are feeling better today. My advice will be not to test...try to hold on...
bibi22 - sorry about your loss. Keep strong and let out all your feelings. Good bless you!
Well I now enter my 2WW -- I had my IUI today -- 5 good eggs measuring from 20cm and the smallest was 16cm. My husbands count was great this time around too again -- so hopefully the end reult will be a BFP.
Good luck to all who will be testing this week. Fingers crossed for everyone.
Well....Had my second natural IUI today. I'm now back in the 2WW. Had acupuncture last night and right after IUI today. I've also been taking herbs the past two weeks. Kramik107 - We're in the 2WW together this month. I hope we both get positive outcomes!! Keep me posted...
Enjoy your time off.... I hope the supplement works for you. Keep us updated in a month when you try again. Or let us know if you get BFP au naturale this month when you try at the beach!!!
eclarky - How did it go today? You had your IUI yes? Hope all went well. Welcome to the 2WW ;)
kramik107 - Welcome to you as well! Were you able to give yourself the trigger shot after all? Please don't give up hope, try to go into the 2 weeks feeling like it's gonne be THE month! Looks like we have alot of new 2 WWers. I'm at 3dpiui..nice that there are so many of us close together in timing!
lindaintoronto - Yes I decided to be be monitored this month. AS it urnes out moitoring myself at home was a waste, I think I completely missed my ovulation with those at home ovulation predictor kits! I'm glad you decided not to wait out this month! Let me know when you go in!!
dolly150 - Wow, 7 weeks..so exciting! I hope you will stop by every once in awhile an let us all know how you are doing ;)
My husband has a good sperm count, but low volume (which means even on his best day, he only has half the sperm and volume as he should) My acupuncturist said he should take Zinc 80mg, B complex, Vitamin C 2000mg, and 1600 mg of selenium/vitamin E blend...she said the selenium is the key one. hope this helps
Thanks. Yes I plan on not paying any mind to the 2WW this time (Who am I kidding) Yes I was able to do all the injections myself and the trigger. My legs are nicely bruised but my gut feeling is is that its gonna be worth it this month -- and hopefully the month for all of us that are entering the 2WW. Everything is crossed for everyone.
Well, I had to IUI, but not without drama! After chasing down that trigger shot, we discovered at 10pm that it was different from what the office usually prescribes and there were no dosing instructions. I called the doctor on call, who then had to call my doctor, but they were totally confused by it and the insert had no help so they decided that I shouldn't do it. So, no trigger, but I'd been getting +OPKs, so they thought it would be fine. 1 follicle (dolly, I'm jealous!), no trigger...but wait, there's MORE: the doc had tons of trouble getting the catheter in and to do all sorts of painful fooling around and pinching before it was in. Wow, talk about no hope this month. I was able to get in for acupuncture before hand, though. I'm glad to have such a big group with me in the 2ww! Baby Dust to all!!!
I'll start testing on 7/1 if AF hasn't showed up yet. If I get a BFP they'll then bring me in asap for bloodwork. I'm so glad that I have a busy next couple of weeks-a wedding this weekend and next week my husband is taking me away for my birthday. We wont' get back until 7/1, so hopefully the excitement of being away will help me relax and make the wait pass more quickly. Good luck to you too!!!
OMG it sounds like a not very funny comedy routine! I can actually completely relate..this entire process has been a test in organization, patience, and logistics. Everything has to be timed down to the minute but you come across so much red tape, errors, people who don't know what they are doing etc. I now know, that you have to be own advicate and voice. You will get through this and PLEASE dont give up hope! You have proven yourself to be a strong person and you will make it happen!
Not to sound like a polyanna, but I have gotten beaten down so many times inthis whole thing, and being a single with no partner to go to for support has been very hard and a challenge..I just know that no matter how insane it can all get, you just have to get back up there and deal y'know? It's all going to work out ;)
Couldn't your dr. just give you the trigger shot at the office when you went in for the IUI? That's what my dr. does...the nurse gives me the trigger shot AFTER the IUI. My Dr. says the research shows there is a greater success rate when the spermies are there "waiting" for the egg when it is released. I guess all these dr.'s have a different way of doing things, so do it before the IUI some do it after.... or am I the only one who gets the trigger shot after? It's also pretty routine to get the 2 IUI's back to back, so I guess you could look at it as having 1 trigger after IUI and 1 IUI after?
My last IUI I had that pinching 10 minute disater to get the catheter in...dr. said that my cervix was not open, so he had to use several different catheter's until he found the one that would fit...not pleasant at all, so I feel for you. I also had a lot of spotting after that, so don't be alarmed if that happens. (guess from all the poking and prying, gross)
Hopefully it will all be worth it :-) (((((((( Super Sticky Baby Dust ))))))))
Thanks for the info and general positive thoughts! LOL, lolagirl, it is a bad comedy routine. Rushing sperm from office to office, timing acupuncture - it is so hard logistically. I'm glad you have this group to lean on through this.
Michelle, I think she had to use something to dilate my cervix a little and yes, I've already had to joys of spotting and probably will continue to! Ugh. They talked about doing the trigger after, but since I'm getting the +opk they thought it probably wasn't necessary. I might be regretting that decision in 2 weeks, but hopefully not!
I just had to comment on what you said about not having anyone to go to for support in all this.... I'm MARRIED and have no one to go to for support in all this! LOL! My husband says things like "Don't worry, it will happen." Because we ALL know how right that is to say!! :) I'm not minimizing your challenges of going through it alone, I just wanted you to know that husbands don't always help. :p My husband does this really annoying thing -- he STARES at me when I talk about this stuff. No comment, just stares. WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?? Do you think you're helping me?? Ugh!
He'll come in handy later I'm sure, but right now he's no use to me!! ;)
How is your 2WW going? How are you feeling? Less than a week to go...whoohoo, I hope AF does not come first!
I had some cramping yesterday like AF was coming, but the cramps have subsided today. Don't know what that was all about?!?! Otherwise I am good, taking it easy, relaxing and keeping myself busy (or at least trying to) No urges to test yet, so that's a good thing.
Lolagirl ~ I have to agree with Liv4Baby, just cause we are married does not make the process any easier and does not neccessarily mean we have "support". My husband does that blank staring thing too, LOL and forget it, when I cry he's just beside himself and usually won't say 1 word to me. He's basically just a body, for all I care I could be talking to my dog or cat...I would get the same reaction! Men don't understand what we are going through...the whole wanted to "be" pregnant and having a child of our own. My husband would adopt and have no problem with that. It's especially hard when you have been TTC for quite a long time without any luck, the support just diminshes as the months go by...your friends, your family, co-workers...they just don't know what to say any more. I think we all feel pretty alone!
I feel for everyone about the husbands being supportive, they don't fully understand what we go through. Mine is great but when we have been without child for 14 years now, he is just a believer that maybe it was not meant to be. He has been great doing everything I ask from going into work late, giving his sperm sampling over and over again, for the some BFN result. Glad we have each other to vent with. Hang in there everyone!! and lots of SBD to all waiting. fit4fun
The 2WW has not been going well for me, but thank you for asking. I've been crampy and uncomfortable all week. Go ahead -- yell at me... I tested today. BFN. Shocking. I know it's too soon, but I have a hard time believing I'm going to get anything but BFN s anyway. I don't even know WHY I tested. Logically it seemed like I could get an answer today -- the First Response tests say that you can use them five days before AF. Today is five days before! So maybe it is right? I'm not feeling very hopeful this month. How is your 2WW going?
Don't give up yet -- your HCG level may not be high enough to detect on a stick yet. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
As for me I had my IUI on Tuesday -- I did follistim inj this time around started them on 6/6 on 6/14 they decreased my dose -- they said I responded very well to the meds. Went back in on Sunday for u/s and blood work and I had to give the ovidrel shot on Sunday and IUI was Tuesday -- so my 2WW just begun -- ugh -- This is the worse part.
Thanks for the encouragement! How many follies did you have this month? Is this the first month you did inj? I'm curious as to how many follies you got from the inj. Good luck with the 2ww! Don't test like stupid me!! LOL!
I started on 6/6 had us and blood work on 6/10 6/12 6/14 and 6/15 the us on thursday they said that I had many; on saturday I had 5 possibly 6 they were measuring from 12 and the sixth one was less than 10 when I had the us done on sunday I had 5 that measured 20, 17, 16.5, 16 and 14 so they told me to trigger on sunday night -- they anticipated that the least I had was 3 and the most was 5 -- They did the IUI on Tuesday -- they were afraid to keep me on the meds until sunday and then trigger monday then IUI on Wednesday because I am so young and they didn't want me to have anymore mature follicles. my husbands numbers were great 68 million with 95% mobility after washing. My first us I asked how many follicles and they said potentially 15 9 on the right and 6 on the left -- Thank God they all didn't mature...LOL This month better work for me -- I am praying every minute I get... Yes this was my first month on injectibles. and my second time doing IUI last month I did IUI on 100 mg of clomid.
Not sure what my estradiol levels were all the times they did it -- but I do know the results from Saturday were 397 and then on Sunday they were 538 -- not sure what that means but....figured I would fill you in on that too.
My 2ww is going well...no AF yet, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I usually get AF between CD21 - CD26, so today is CD23, yeah!! I have not tested yet and I have no thoughts of even doing it...don't even have any tests in the house. It's way too early, it's only 9dpiui. You can't follow what the box says about 5 days before a missed period becaue we are not typical, we are on hormones and trigger shots. Just wait a few more days before testing again. You can do it!!! And don't give up hope...it's way too early!
Wow, that's a lot of mature follies! Are your chances for multiples increased? You may end up with quads or quinces...LOL! 1 or 2 would be good enough.
Yeah, I know it's too early - but like I've said, I don't get the trigger shot, so I thought maybe I could get away with testing early. Guess what I got instead? A BFN. So I learned my lesson. I'm waiting now.
Regarding the possibility of multiples -- my friend has six kids from two pregnancies on injections. So as we all know, it is possible when you use them!! :)
I can relate to all of the women who have unsupportive husbands. My husband wants to join the army. Don't really think I will be getting pregnant if he is in Iraq! I am hoping that he won't join. My cousin is trying to talk him out of it because he is in the army now. My husband is going to be 37 in Aug. we all think that it is too late for him to join. he has a bad back too! I do have a friend that is older than me who is going through infertility issues. She actually did IVF this month. But I don't think that she got pregnant. It is nice to have a girlfriend who understands my feelings.
Yeah, I think and hope your husband is too old for your sake...do you watch the Lifetime channel's series Army wives? It's really good and comes on Sunday nights.
I hope you can still get a BFP even if you caught a cold??? I woke up this morning with a pretty nasty head cold :-( My husband had a flu last week...I was sleeping on the couch and everything, so I didn't catch it. But I guess I didn't catch the flu, just a cold...bummers!
I also have a friend who has fertility problems, she has PCOS and has been TTC for over a year now. She is just doing clomid, metformin, and provera...no procedures yet. Her dr. wanted her to do injectables since her body is not responding to the drugs, but she is not ready for it. I also have someone to compare notes with :-) It's nice although I wouldn't wish infertility on anyone...it's the worst uncontrollable thing in the world.
Wow, I am glad my husband is way too lazy for anything like that! He's not even a fast driver. :) Safety in laziness I guess. Good luck with your husband changing his mind, I really hope he does.
I like having friends who ALREADY went through this. None of my friends are going through this now, so I know there's hope! :) Two of my friends have children despite their infertility. One has one child through IVF, and one has six through injections.
I know what you mean, Michelle, about this being the worst uncontrollable thing. I am legally blind, I have been since I was a teenager. I am not saying it's GOOD, but I feel like it's easier to live with than this. I don't have to go through hardcore procedures every month and then SEARCH for signs that I can see again! :) I just live with it and move on. This is so different -- it's a constant battle that takes so much waiting to see if you've won. And who knows which way it will go?
I've already started investigating adoption, but I'm not really ready to walk down that road yet. It's so complicated too.
Thanks for your support. It's been a rough week. I am hoping that my husband doesn't join the army. So we can start trying again next month. My last IUI was in March. We have taken a couple of months off for reasons that were out of our control. I think we will be heading to a fertility clinic to get more help next month.
I have also looked into adoption but I am not ready to go down that road either. It is very complicated and confusing process.
I'm still around just saving for my 4th IUI. I really hope yours works this month. Is there a great incresase in getting your BFP if you have 2 IUIs back to back?
Hi!
Glad to hear from you!! Thanks for the good wishes. I am at 7dpiui and kind of have a gut feeling that it didn't work this month. About 3 days after IUI my bbs started getting very sore and has increased each day since. They are so so sore now I cannot stand it. I had no meds or injectables with this IUI so it cannot be from that. I HAVE heard other women saying they had this symptom very early after conception but to me it's just seems like a long shot and it's more likely very very pms symptoms. I'll still keep my fingers crossed though ;)
As far as the back to back IUI my RE told me it was up to me, but she said it better the chance..makes sense but yes, it's also double the price (at least at my fertility center) plus if you are using donor sperm, yu run out more quickly (in fact, I'll be doing a little shopping today..I need to purchase more donor sperm LOL)
So when do you think you will have your 4th IUI? I know you are saving up..hopefully ext month? I hope so!!
It all sounds really promising for you. I really hope this is your month. I think I will be trying again in August. The school I work in shuts on the 23rd July so August will be the month for me I hope. Just asking when you get your surge from using any OPK do you have your IUI on that day or the day after. I have been having it the day after, but I am convinced that I ovulate on the day I get my surge, coz I get get ovulation cramps on that day.
I hope so too ;)
Ok, my experience with using any OPK has not been good. My first cycle I tried to save $$ and used an at home kit to predict ovulation and I think I missed it completely. I never got a positive sign of a surge and had to just guess when the right time would be (Reading other signs like cervical mucus, temp etc) so that didn't work. This month I was monitored with ultrasound and bloods and it turns out I ovulate WAY earlier than i thought. Also, the morning I went in for bloods and got the reading that my surge was high and I was about to ovulate i STILL had no surge reading on the OPK! My Dr told me that for some women, the OPK just don't work enough. So all I can tell you is, those kits are chancy. I totally understand needing to cut costs wherever you can, but in this case I really think it's worth it to be monitored by your Dr so they can tell you more exact timing.
I think it's great that you are taking the next month off, save some $$, wrap up your work commitments for the Summer and then you will be ready for August!!
Thanks for that advice. I think you could be right. With my first IUI I was monitored and have the HCG trigger injection but it still failed. I think I need to make another appointment with my Dr and talk through my options. I live in the UK and the process is so expensive and the prices have gone up again. Without medication per cycle is over £1000 plus you medication! Thanks again for the advice. I really hope you get your BFP this month. How many days past IUI are you now?
When you were monitored the first time, was your surge earlier or later than the ovulation pains that you usually have? I seems like it should be a science, but I guess is isn't, every month is different and your body change all the time..hard isn't it?
I was going to write back after my last post what you already said, definitely speak to your Dr about this. Perhaps the double IUI 24 hrs apart is the best option for you. Does your insurance company pay for anything (Mine doesn't) How about donor sperm, are you using unknown donor? I guess first speak with your Dr, get all your information, then weigh and measure your options and try to figure out what makes most sense as far as cost etc..I know it's all very overwhelming!
I'm now 7dpiui and like I said..I dunno, just doesn't feel like it worked this month for some reason, I'm usually an optimistic type but feel like it wasn't the month. I'm not anxious about it, I'm more or less expecting AF to come in a few days and I'll just get back up on that dang horse and go for it again :)
Hi,
I'm not sure if you would still have follies or ovulate, but I'm wondering if you had the HSG test? This is the test that sees if your tubes are blocked. Do you think you might have this problem?? Get the test!
Hello,
My right tube was "blocked" when I had the HSG test but the doctor said I might have spasmed. Anyway, my doctor is not concerned about my possible blocked tube. SO, to answer your question, yes, you do ovulate and yes, you do see follicles. I ovulate28 days like clockwork and had 4 follies on my last IUI (three days ago).
I am just thinking of reasons, aside from my husband, as to why we would not have gotten pregnant yet! It's been 2 years! I'm only 29 years old, no history of cervical cancer or STD"S, no D and C's, I've never even had a questionalable pap swear. I haven't ever even missed 1 period since I got it at 12 years old. I just don't get it?!?!? If the problem is my husbands sperm can't get to where it needs to be and the IUI puts it where it needs to be, then why didn't I get pregnant again? Yeah, IUI # 2 failed!! Got AF today 11dpiui...bummers! I bet it was my cold I caught from my husband? And I don't know what to do cause I don't want to do this anymore or deal with infertility!
No, I've never had the HSG test...is it painful? I'm scared. Would you still get AF if your tubes are blocked?
I am praying that this is your month and you are blessed with a BFP. I use unknown donor sperm from the bank they have at the fertility clinic. This is not covered by medical insurance it's all mine money, hence why I had to give it a few months before starting again. I did three months in a row!
Hello,
When my doctor told me that my right tube could possibly be blocked, I asked him all the questions you are asking...would I still get my period? Would I still ovulate? He said "yes," the tube does not at all affect ovulation or periods. I also have good history and we've been trying to get pregnant for 9 months with one failed IUI. The HSG does not hurt unless one of your tubes is blocked or goes into a spasm. That is what happened to me. I didn't feel a thing when they injected my left tube with saline solution. But when they injected my right tube, it hurt alot. The HSG is NOT a perfect test. To get a more accurate result, you'll have to do the dye test, which I heard is very painful. I hope this helps!
P.S. Sorry about your AF. Don't give up. It will happen for you.
Linda
Hi,
I too am so so sorry AF showed up. I know how disappointing this is..
I think you should speak to your Dr about all of this. I'm surprised he/she hadn't scheduled the HSG test already, my Dr told me it was standard with Fertility treatment. I had the dye test and as Linda said, YES it is painful, but it only lasts for a few minutes. They show you a screen monitor when they inject the dye you can see it go through your tubes (if they aren't blocked)
What does your Dr say about your difficulty in getting pregnant?
It WILL happen! I work with a woman who had tried to get pregnant for 5 years ever since getting married. She went through everything, IUI, meds, endless IVFs and finally, last week she told me she was pregnant! It WILL happen ;)
Thank you for your prayers ;)
I think its great that you are taking a break. It's a good way to clear your head, save up some money and then get back to it. I bet you will go back into the process feeling more relaxed which in turn, could end up being very beneficial! I now they cost of this i what is stressing me out. I'm not sure how many IUIs I can go through before I have some serious financial issues. I But I have to just keep in mind the end goal!
I am 42 years old and had my first IUI on 6/12/08, so today is day 10. I could not handle the 2WW any longer and took an EPT today. It was negative. Could it be a false negative? I had a 5 day cylce of Clomid (50) followed by the HCG trigger shot. A week after the IUI my progesterone level was 58. I have been having lower back pains, a few headaches, dizziness, an occasional white odorless discharge, bloating, irritability, fatigue, smell sensitivity, cravings, and nausea caused by smells that have not bothered me in the past. I am very new to all of this. I sure thought I was pregnant based on all of these new symptoms I am having. I am feeling a little deflated now. Did I test too early?
I had the HSG with dye, and I didn't find it too painful, so don't worry anyone who hasn't had that yet.
lolagirl, I'm totally feeling the same as you this month! I'm 6dpiui and just have not feeling that it would be. But I'm pretty calm about, maybe it's a zen thing from all my acupuncture!?! Anyway, I've just been doing my thing and am not to worried about it. I got an appointment the specialist the first week of September, so I'm kind of looking forward to that for a different perspective.
Angie, you may have tested to early, something there is not enough hcg to detect yet. Try to wait two days and then try again:) Good luck!
I had the HSG with dye. I did not have any pain. I did have some discomfort when the doctor rounded the cervix. A cyst was found with the HSG when the dye was inserted for which I had no symptoms. The doctor was surprised and thought it was a gas bubble but the radiologist said it was a mass. It did not show up in the vaginal ultrasounds of my uterus. The doctor said that this cyst would drastically lower my chances of pregnancy so I had it removed. I had to wait 6 weeks, then tried the IUI. I was glad that I had the HSG or we would have not found the cyst.
Thanks for all the info on the HSG test...My husband and I decided we would do one more round of IUI, if it doesn't work we will take a break and switch doctors. Our current dr. is older than dirt! We spent the day shopping and looking for houses to cheer ourselves up...he's always more disappointed than me, I think because we have male factor infertility and he thinks it's all his fault. I'm going to ask my dr. about the HSG cause maybe my tubes are blocked or something.
I am SO sorry to hear about AF. :( I really thought this was your month. I tested again today and still BFN for me too. So I'm probably going to be joining you again next month. Although, your cycles seem to be much shorter than mine, so maybe not. I don't blame you for switching -- you need a new perspective sometimes.
I was told I'm going to have to have my tubes checked next month if I'm not pregnant this month. I'm scared too - someone told me (a friend of mine) that it was very painful.
Hi I've been out of the loop for a couple of days. I started by 2nd IUI cycle , Injections started on Monday. The cycst that I had developed with my first Injection cycle went away apparently and I only had a small one when they tested so I got the go ahead to start try #2. I feel better this time around, knowing what it is all about and knowing what questions to ask. My IUI's should be around 6/26 & 6/27. i am planning to take the time off of work and also the next monday so I have a good long weekend and can relax, take care of myself!
lindaintoronto,
I am at the Newlife clinic in Brampton. I have decided to stick with them for now. I think my dr. attitude is a little strange, but maybe it was just me being emotional, I'm not sure, but we'll see. I love the rest of the staff there!
DYE TESTING: It is quite painful, like really bad cramps. I was told AFTER the procedure that taking a couple of Advil before is helpful!
Best wishes too all, here's to a couple of BFP's!!!!!
Well, shortly after I posted my last message, I got AF. So I didn't make it the whole 2 weeks this time, just 12 days. :( Oh well, I guess I saved on HPTs.
Back to the dr on Tuesday I guess. Time to start again. I really don't get it -- I had THREE follies this month! I thought for sure I would get pregnant. How the hell many do I need???
Sorry to hear about your AF, too...kind of wierd we both got our AF on the same day?!?! I got mine late Saturday night, so I just couted today as my cd1. I guess we will be together for next month again...was your AF early? Mine was right on time, I have short cycles between 21-26 days. I didn't even test at all, so I also saved on HPT's as well.
I had 2 follies and had 2 IUI's back to back this month, so I was very hopeful...I've been reading on the interent and it says that it could take up to 6 times before being successful!!! I'll die going through this 4 more times or even worse what if it doesn't work at all??? I'm having my sad day...hopefully I will wake up happier tomorrow.
It just really *****, I keep asking myself WHY? WHY? WHY? My husband slept most of the day and night cause that's what he does when he is depressed. He just got up to do breakfast, shopping, and house hunting, then slept all afternoon, then woke up and we went out for dinner and he came home and went back to bed....meanwhile here I am wired and not able to sleep cause that's what I do when I am sad.
My husband sleeps when he's depressed too... But he's way more okay with this than I am. He thinks it will happen eventually, so I guess he doesn't really sweat the failed attempts.
Yes, AF was early -- at least I think so. Normally my cycles are really long - like 32 days. This month I ovulated really late, so technically it was CD33 when I got AF, so I don't know. I just thought since I didn't make it the whole two weeks AFTER I ovulated, that it was early. But maybe not since it was day 33. I don't know. This stuff is pretty confusing. Then the receptionist at the doctors office asked me what TIME I got AF. Like I know. She's like "Well if it was BEFORE three, you count it as day 1... I'm like, okay whatever. I'm so tired of calculating everything.
I'm sorry you're so depressed, Michelle. I'm not really anymore, but I am going to have to take it easy today so I don't end up in like, denial or something. :) I'm abnormally UNsad. If that makes sense. :)
Thanks, Mary. :) I'm really ready to get back in the game now. I just wish the rounds didn't take so long since I could probably fight a lot more often!! :)
Liv4Baby - I'm so sorry AF is here. BUT you sound great and your positive attitude can only be beneficial! I'm wondering if going through the IUI process makes your cycle shorter? Last month AF showed up VERY early for me.
eclarky - How do you feel today? Day 7 yes? I'm really glad that you started Acupuncture. It helps settle you a bit right? I feel the same way as you, that I kinda just feel like it isn't going to happen for me this month, and although I will be disappointed, I'm ok with it. The Acupuncture is a great aid, and I know that each week that I go, it is only helping me with preparing my body.
Michelleinhawaii - Definitely switch Drs. I think it' very important to be as comfortable as you can (and confident as you can) in this difficult process. I'm thinking of switching Drs as well. Although the fertility clinic I go to is one of the best here I don't like the large factory feel..I need a little more one on one.
Hang in there and let yourself be sad, after a few days, I bet you will start to get excited again for next month' cycle ;)
Thanks for all your kind words, I feel much better when I woke up this morning....surprisingly I woke up thinking about buying a house rather than a baby, maybe the house thing is more exciting right now since I know it is something I can control. If that makes any sense. We just can't control our fertility and that makes me really vulnerable, everything else in life we are in control of...
It'll happen, like I told my husband if the problem is the sperm could not get to where it needed to be due to the low volume, then it's really like it's only our second month "trying" and how many people really get pregnant on their second try?
Liv4baby ~ We probably won't be together this month cause I always get my IUI's on CD11,12 or 13 since my cycles are so short.
Hello everyone I am back in the loop just got back from OCMD yesterday and back to work today -- And today is 1 week past IUI so I have 1 week left. Since 6/18 my bbs are sore and feel full - but I am guessing that is from the follistim and ovidrel shot. How is everyone doing? When I have time tonight I will have to go back and read everything. Anyone due to test yet and get a BFP?
Kramik 107 - Welcome back!!! I had the same sore bbs symptoms as you since 3dpiui which I thought was weird (Especially since I'm not taking any meds) today is 10dpiui and I have decided to test tomorrow at 1 days. I'm not terribly hopeful that it's the month for me but fingers are crossed anyway ;)
Went for my baseline today. Everything is fine, I told them how hard it is to get in there and she said I could skip my next ultrasound. So they'll just assume the follies are there - not going to know how many though.
Good luck testing tomorrow, lolagirl!! Hope you get a BFP!
Hi Michelle, do you happen to know how many sperm volume your husband had after washing ?
Good luck to all testing soon!! Its time for some godd baby news!!!
Has anyone did follistim injections with Ovidrel trigger? Did you have any symptoms from it? I did follistim injections I started them on 6/6 then on 6/15 I did the ovidrel shot and then had IUI on 6/17. Since 6/18 my bbs are so tender I cant stand it. I know it is way too soon to be a preg symptom but when should it wear off from the shots?
My husbands sperm count after washing has been between 30-45 million, but his sperm "count" is great for the amount of "volume" he does have. That's why the dr. suggested insemination for us. because my husband has low volume there is not enough seminal fluid to carry the sperm all the way up to where it needs to be. The seminal fluid protects the sperm from our toxic vaginal fluid and cervical mucus, otherwise the sprem just die without the seminal fluid. My CM kills them before they reach the right spot. We TTC on our own for about a year and half before getting checked out. I have never been checked since we kind of knew it was my husband. he has a hypospadis that he was born with and had surgery to try to correct it when he was 5 years old. The operation caused something called a varicele or something, that makes he have the low volume. I hope this helps?!?! otherwise it's just TMI, LOL!!!
When is your next IUI scheduled for? I scheduled my u/s for July 2nd and my IUI's on July 3rd and 5th...if the u/s shows I have good follies. I pushed the office to do it a day or 2 earlier since my cycles are short, so we'll see if my follies will be ready earlier otherwise I have to wait and only do 1 IUI this month instead of the 2 back to back.
BFN!
Took the stick test this morning and it as a no go. I'm HOPING it was too early to test at 11dpiui but have a feeling the negative is what it is. Ugh.. oh well. Bummed out, but there is always July! ;)
Thanks Michelle for the explanation. My best friend's husband also has varicoceli since he was a little boy and she was aware of it since the beginning of their relationship. He was sure he was not going to be able to have kids so easily so they didn't plan anything and guess what?? Their little sunshine is already 6 months. He always dreamt to have a girl and that look just like him and his wish came true..They both think next time will be hard to conceive, but who knows.
Lolagirl212 - ;-( sorry about your BFN--keep strong for the next try...
Don't give up hope yet. Test again in 2-3 days if AF does not show up. I am 8dpiui and was so tempted to test this morning -- but didn't maybe Saturday. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Hi ladies,
Thanks so much...I will test agin in two days if AF hasn't shown up. Definitely a bummer but then again, I prepared myself all along thinking it wasn't going to happen this month.
Kramik 107 - Try not to test too early..I know that urge, but I think 8 days way too early and you don't want to psych yourself out getting a BFN for no reason y'know?
Kramik 107 - So you had the trigger shot? I aske dmy Dr about it this month and he said he didn'tt hink I needed it but now I'm not sure? Does the trigger shot guarantee ovulation at a precise time?
Matty1972 - Thanks! I'm HOPING it was too early to test..I feel AF symptoms coming on like gangbusters so we will see. Will keep you posted in the next few days ;)
hi just checking in. I have been sick and hit a couple lows in the last couple of days. I think I needed to do a recluse thing but I am back and ready for IUI #3 in July....
lolagirl212- don't give up yet! It may have been too early. I did a test last time on day 12 and had a BFN, then on day 15 my blood test came back positive. It didn't work out in the end as you may recall but it was positive. So hang in there, the blood will tell and then you will have all the luck and a beautiful baby soon after. Keep the faith and the hope up. I am praying for you!
Michelle - I don't get to schedule my IUI's. I have to wait and use the OPKs to see when I ovulate, then call and come in the next morning for my IUI. Because my cycles are so long, I'm not going to get my next IUI until like mid July. I think July 9 is really my first shot. It ***** because I think I'm losing time by having these long cycles.
Lolagirl, don't give up yet, but don't be too disappointed either. We have to be strong - or kill someone, one or the other! ;) I still wish you luck, you have a few more days.
Bibi -- "beautiful baby?" I'd settle for a REALLY ugly baby!! LOL!! I used to worry about having a big baby that was hard to get out... Now I'd take a giant turkey baby! LOL!!
Lolagirl-Hang in there, you might have tested too early! Baby dust to you!
I am now 8dpiui and feeling nothing. It seems like I've broken out a little, but really I feel nothing. I had acupuncture today and feel pretty at peace with it all. I think the best news is that Friday, we leave for our trip - DH is taking me on a surprise trip for my birthday. I wont' be back until Tues, which is also the day AF is due. Hopefully all the rest will be a good thing!!!
I know a few of you will be testing in the coming days, good luck!!
Thans everyone, for your word of incouragment!!! I decided not to test again. I will wait to see if AF shows up and if not, then will get my bloods done at the Drs office. Funny, tonight I went to my Acupuncturist and she said she didn't think I was pregnant. She said the same think last time. Weird how she seems to know stuff!
eclarky - That i SO nice that your Husband is taking you away. The timing is perfect! You will be having such a nice time, you hopefully won't be counting the day past IUI! If I do another IUI in July, I will be traveling on business for 2 weeks afterward which is also perfect since I'll be too busy dealing with work, I won't be counting the days past IUI. BTW..HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance!
Liv4Baby - SO funny, I think the same thing..I used to think "Oh, I hope I have a beautiful baby" so silly, all I care about it a healthy baby!!!
bibi22- Thank you for your story..I know it's true, it could still be a BFP I will stay positive. And for you, I hope that is all in the past and that it works out much differently for you this time, only good things, and beautiful healthy babies ;)
Wait-how can your acupuncturist tell if your pregnant? How many days dpiui did they tell you that? I was 7dpiui when i was in yesterday and mine didn't say anything! That is weird that they know that....
I know it's totally weird. She does this thing where she checks your wrists and tests your "flow" she says that pregnant women have a more slippery feeling. Whatever, it sound totally crunchy granola to me and I've never been that kind of person, I'm more pragmatic, but for some reason, I love going to her and trust her. I have a friend who goes to her and has sent lots of other women who are trying to get pregnant. She apparently has a huge success rate..her latest is a 49 year old woman who tried for YEARS to conceive and is now 5 months pregnant. THAT was enough of a draw for me! ;)
crunchy granola, LOL!!! I should ask my acupuncturist her success rate, although I don't know how approriate that would be?!?!? Mine just told me to do this wierd thing on my pelvis pulses to increase the blood flow to my ovaries...do you do this? I also had to pick up "chicken essence" from the asian market, my husband has to drink a bottle of it every day to increase his sperm volume, LOL...the things we do!!!
I see...I guess we probably won't be in the same 2ww again. And I'll take any kind of baby, too...ugly, fat, small or cute! Any will do just fantabulously:-)
I wanted to ask if anyone's acupuncturist does "cupping" on them. Mine did this last week, I thought for my cold, but then she did it again today. She said to increase my blood flow throughout my body? It brusies you and I am going away for the weekend and now I have all bruises on my back...I'm staying at a resort and the perople are going to think iIm a freak.
Mine does not do cupping with me, but I have heard of it. I would probably try whatever they told me, but those bruises stink! Why do we do these things?!?!
Hey, I don't remember if you said so or not... Are you going to be doing the meds this time around? I don't know why you would anyway -- you did better without them!! :) I just wanted to know how that was going.
Hi Everyone,
Well I'm 10 dpiui and feeling very crampy just like AF is about to come. Very disappointed. I know it didn't work this month. Going on vacation mid-July to celebrate anniversary. I'll be gone right in the middle of my cycle so I will not be able to do another iui until August. Was really hoping this was finally my month. Continuing with acupuncture and herbs and hoping something does the trick!!
Hi,
Don't give up hope yet! 10dpiui is too soon to give up hope. Cramping like AF is coming I have heard over and over is also a pregnancy symptom.
I have the same issue as you, if this month doesn't work, then I will miss July since I'm away on business. I'm 13dpiui and took another test this morning with a BFN as a result. Oh well..bummer.
Enjoy your vacation and happy anniversary! You and your Husband should just have FUn and spoil yourselves! Have a wonderful time and know that if this month didn't happen you have August to look forward to.
Hi Loagirl212.....thank you so much for your response!! It's always so nice to hear from other women going through the same situation......we're the only ones who can really understand how hard this is!!! I am very much looking forward to my anniversary trip.....it's our 5th anniversary. 5 is a lucky number for us......got engaged one the 5th and married on the 5th....and this is our 5th year of marriage. Maybe I'll get pregnant on our vacation!! I'll keep you in my thoughts lolagirl212......we may end up in the 2ww together in August!!
I am 10dpiui today too and I had some cramps yesterday morning then at night then some cramps this morning I also felt sick this morning. And now I keep getting this tugging/pulling pain on my lower left side -- I think its just AF working her way through to come on 7/1 but hopefully I am wrong and its a BFP when I test. Have you tested yet? My fingers are crossed for you . Good luck. Have fun on your vacation too.
Hi Kramik107. No, I have not tested yet. I hate to sound negative but I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant this month. Between the cramps, face breaking out, moodiness, and being tired, it just feels exactly like AF is coming. I'm suppossed to get AF anytime from 6/30-7/2. If by some chance I don't get it by 7/5 (my anniversary) I'll call the doctor to schedule a blood test. I just can't take another BFN. I'm not going away until 7/16......Maybe next months cycle will be a little shorter and I'll be able to do another iui after all......guess I'll just have to play it by ear. I'll be thinking of you and sending you positive vibes for a BFP!
Hi,
You are so sweet..thanks for checking in and your kind words. I am disappointed for sure but I need to keep positive and know that it will happen eventually. I'm going to continue Acupuncture during my "down month" of July and hope that August is the month!
So you are considering August, that is GREAT! Please keep me posted on when you start your monitoring etc. I will definitely be checking in on this sight even if I'm not doing a July cycle. I'm anxious to hear how you are doing, your decisions etc and I hope to hear about LOTS of BFP for the other ladies on here!!
I have not tested yet either -- I feel the same way you do -- with my bbs hurting, being extremely tired -- had some cramping/pulling feelings on my sides the last 2 nights. And yesterday a pimple popped out -- I cant help but to think AF is gonna show up too -- I so hope that we are both wrong -- but tomorrow is gonna be 12dpiui so I may just sneak a peak and test. I'd rather be upset now and then look forward to the next cycle -- even though me and my husband may decide to take so time off from fertility treatment and relax for the next month or so -- who knows maybe if we don't try as hard it will happen.
Hi,
Hope you are doing fine.Where are u in ur cycle at the moment? For me AF is practicaly due on 1st July but i dn't feel any symptom what so ever usually i start getting symptoms 4,5 days prior to AF.I think this cycle is going to be long b/c of cyst and i continued to have spotting till D10 of cycle. So lets hope AF comes in time so that i can start a new cycle.
Hope u will also be able to start IUI in time this month with positive out come.
hey ladies, remember me? i am in the waiting game after my second iui which was done on 6/20. i have noted a few "symptoms" but who knows if it means aything. i had 3 large follies on the right side and my lining was a 5 at cd10 and then over 7 at cd12 the day of the iui. i triggered the nite of cd 10. last cycle on cd 14 my lining was over 9 but they said it had looked as if i had already ovulated and i was not monitered like this cycle. so i will be due for af around the 6th of july, give or take. i try not to dwell on the signs since they always seem to be related to af. last cycle after doing the 100mg of clomid and iui and trigger i got af on june 9th, i had some brown gross spotting the nite before and then full blown red blood heavy on the 9th then by that nite it was gone, then had brown spotting again. so basically it lasted 1 day which i thought was really weird especially since my lining was really plush. it was making me have some hopes that i was pregnant, but i wasnt after blood test came back negative.
I'm doing great, just got back from my weekend trip to Kona on the Big Island. I will be unmedicated again for this cycle and I actually go for my ultrasound on wednesday and IUI on Thursday and Saturday of this week, if my follies are ready since the ultrasound will be on CD11 instead of CD12 or 13 like I have been doing. I think earlier will be better for me since my cycles are shorter. we shall see...it's all up to the follies.
That is awesome! I am glad to see that you are so quick to get this over with. I have to wait until like CD 22 before I can get my IUI. So at only CD 9 today, I have a long way to go. It kind of stinks since I feel like I lose time with these long cycles, but what can I do. I have to wait.
Hello.
I actually got my AF last Thursday. I had an u/s done on Saturday and he said the cysts are gone and I am ready to start a new cycle. So I am very happy about that. But unfortunately, its not a good time for me to start so I am going to wait until August. My sister is getting married next week and my DH and I are both in the wedding. We have the bachlor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding all in the week that I would be going through my procedure. There would be no way I would be able to get my injections done and the actual procedure with that hectic schedule. We were going to do it but I figured with being stressed about everything I need to do, it wouldnt be good mentally either. Plus the fact we have a lot $$ going out this month it would be too much for us being that my insurance covers NADA. Thanks for asking. Hopefully next month will be my month. Also I have very long cycles so I am on BCP now so that I will get AF in 3 weeks rather then waiting about 35 days. It was very disappointing for me but I guess its better to go into my next cycle stress free and only be concerned with the procedure. So I am going to enjoy the wedding and Drink!! lol Good luck to u.. Please keep me posted on your cycle. I hope you get a BFP!!!
well the 2WW is over AF was due today and no surprise there she came right when she was supposed to. So I guess now me and dh decide what we wanna do next -- continue with treatment or take some time off.
Good luck to all still waiting to test -- fingers are crossed for everyone.
I am ok -- I wanted to take a couple months off and enjoy the rest of the summer but dh is really upset and wants to keep going so for him I will do this cycle and then if nothing he is willing to give it a break -- so atleast we are communicating well -- LOL
Sorry to hear you got AF but I am glad you are doing ok. It is good that your DH wants to continue. Give it one more shot and if it doesn't work, definitely give yourself a break if you feel u need one. Good Luck.
Hi kramik107....my 2WW is over as well......got AF today right on schedule. Even though I had all her symptoms, it's still so disappointing when she actually arrives!!!! Guess I'll just try naturally this month and do my third IUI in August as predicted. Hang in there and I'll try to do the same!!!!
I'm back from my trip with DH and like kramik107, got AF today exactly on schedule. So dependable. I've been crampy since Sunday, so I knew it was coming. I guess most importantly, I did not actually have AF on the trip so at least it wasn't ruined. I'll be talking to the doctor tomorrow, but I know this will be my last IUI for awhile. If July isn't the month we'll be doing more testing and "regrouping" in August and I'll be see the RE in Sept. I know there were a few of us in the 2ww, I hope others have better luck!!
kramik107, alihoff and eclarky - I'm so sorry for each of you that AF had to come. I know how disappointing this is even if you had tried to prepare yourself for it, it still stings. I'm still sitting here with AF and looking to August as the month to have hope again. Stay strong and know in your heart it WILL happen ;)
Liv4Baby - In your eyes, I may not be "young enough" as you put it, but I believe I can still get somewhere eventually. There are lots of ladies on here who might be older, but we all have the same hope and are trying with the same passion to make it happen. Please try to be a bit more sensitive to that.
Hi Liv4baby. I've been going to Long Island IVF and working with Dr. Kenigsberg. The doctor who wrote the book "The Baby Solution". So far, I have had a very good experience with them. Everyone is so nice and friendly and the office is beautiful. What doctor do you see?
Well I had my baseline us today to see if I am "all clear" to do another round of meds. And afterall I may not be able to. My uterine lining is thick and I have a corpus luteum. Has this happened to anyone? What could it mean? or be from?? Any and all replies would be great.
lolagirl212 - I am sorry if I offended you, but I really didn't mean to. I assume that if you are still ABLE to try, you are young. We are obviously all in the same boat, so try to remember that no one here means you any disrespect. I am no more pregnant than you are, regardless of our ages.
alihoff - I see Dr. Cain at RS of NY. She is nice, and I really like their office and the people there. However, I have started to feel like I'm seeing too much of the nurses and not enough of the doctors. I'm hoping that I can speak to the doctor about that next time. I am not saying I don't trust the nurses, but it really is the doctor's expertise that I'm seeking. Where is your doctor located?
I think that's what they call it when you have a cyst left after you ovulate from the remaining follicle. I think you have to wait until the cyst goes away before you try again. Although one month I had one and they proceeded anyway. What did the doctor tell you to do?
Thanks for the note. Totally understood. Perhaps I am just more sensitive about being 42 and have been up against a lot of critisism for even attempting to get pregnant in my "advanced" age. I will prove them wrong ;)
I don't know why you're being criticized for it. Like I said, if you still CAN try, than how exactly are you old?? My sister-in-law (another one who gets pregnant when her husband is in the room) got pregnant by accident when she was the same age as you. She was two years younger the time before that. If you were too old, she would be too, and those things wouldn't happen. Don't let people dictate your feelings. If you think this is right, then it is. I've got news for ya, I'm 28, and the other day someone said "Maybe God is trying to tell you something. Maybe you're not supposed to get pregnant." Nice, right? You can't let people screw with your mission. Go get pregnant. :)
Yeah that they said -- but not sure why my lining is thick. They did an HCG test to see if maybe I am/was pregnant (which I doubt) I will know the results by the end of the day today and know what the plan will be.
I have my ultrasound today at 2 and my IUI tomorrow at 2, which would be 8 your time.
I have been doing those ovulating strips just to make sure the IUI would be timed right (even thought the dr, told me not to do that)...but anyway, the strips have been testing positive yesterday and today. Does that mean tomorrow will be perfect for the IUI? How about by Saturday, too late? should I cancel the IUI on Saturday or it's worth the extra chance?
Michelle - I don't know - if I were you, I would DEFINITELY call the Dr today. I would tell them what you said here. I'm no expert, but with me (because they don't do the trigger shot) I have to test with the OPK everyday around the "right time." When it turns, I have to call and make an appt for the NEXT DAY. So you'd be going in kind of late, right? I def think Sat seems too late, but again, ask them.
You are way too addicted to peeing on sticks if your testing with the opk even when they tell you not to! LOL!
I think you'd have to either ask the dr or look this up... I once read that the follicle continues to release hormones even after it releases the egg, and that's how your body knows what to do next. So maybe the lining is thick because you had that cyst this month?
I am thinking that too -- they did bloodwork to check my hormones and also to check my HCG -- they said sometimes these cyct things can produce estrogen and if that is the case then I won't be doing any meds this month cause doing the injectible meds will cause the cyst to grow bigger. They will be calling me by the end of the day today with my blood work results and my plan of action. Trust me I have been trying to look all this up all day long and really haven't found any useful information. I will keep you posted.
Sorry you got this news. I had cysts also from the medication. So I had to skip a cycle. My RE gave me birth control pills to take for the month. He said that the BCPs will help the cysts go away quicker so that I would def be ready for the next month... Just a suggestion, maybe you want to ask your RE.
It worked for me... the cysts were gone after one month.
Good luck!!! Just something else we have to go thru.
No mention of BCP's the nurse said that if I do have to hold off on the meds this month to still be sexually actively trying -- she said sometimes I can "bounce back" and get preg without the meds. But who knows. They should be calling me sometime today with the bw results and the plan. I will keep everyone posted with the results.
the results are in.... I am able to do a medicated cycle this month -- all my blood work came back fine -- the cyst is not producing any estrogen so doing the meds will not hurt anything --
Kramik107 ~ That's good to hear, when will you go for your next round? I also had that corpus leutuem cyst one time when I got an ulltrasound and everyone acted like it was a normal thing...I'm wondering if I will have one today when I go for my u/s since last cycle I had 2 eggs? I wonder if they both released or how that works?
Liv4baby ~ yeah I am addicted to those ovulation strips...I just want to make sure the timing for the IUI is right. My dr. monitors me with u/s before the IUI, so that's why he tells me not to waste my money on the Ovulating strips. I don't care though. I can't call and tell them I tested positive on the strips, they'll get mad I was doing them again...LOL. The first cycle I called cause those strips tested positive a few days earlier than my scheduled IUI and I was like a crazy woman, I have learned just wait and see what the ultrasound says. Dr. says those strips are pretty unpredictable since they detect LH surge anywhere from 24-48 hours before ovulation.
My doctor is located in Melville. Long Island IVF also has two other offices in Port Jefferson and Lake Success. I feel the same way you do about seeing mostly nurses. Although, they consult with my doctor every step of the way and carry out his directions. I'm not really sure what seeing him face to face would do. It doesn't seem like any of them know why I'm not getting pregnant. I keep being told "everything looks great on paper". I guess sometimes these things just take time. That's what my OBGYN kept telling him when I was working with her. It took her three years to conceive and now she has 4 kids!
When I called the doctor's office today, I had a long chat with the nurse and long story short, we decided that we're going to take the next two months off. I've been on Clomid for 7 months now and had 2 unsuccessful IUIs. She was so nice but said that since we have an appt with the RE the first week of Sept, we might want to think about a break to regroup since it's been awhile on meds and we will undoubtably have more meds/appts/drama with the RE. As soon as she said it, my immediate reaction was relief, so I knew it was the best choice. DH and I talked about it, and he agreed. In some ways I felt like it was the end, but I know we still have the RE. We're just not sure how much further we'll go, but we figure it's worth the RE consult. I'll still be hanging around here and TTC naturally, but no IUIs for me for the next couple of months. i hope to hear some good news from you guys!!!!
kramik107 - AWESOME news!! So happy for you. I hope that this is your moth then. :)
Michelle - you crack me up! You can't tell them now! LOL! Well they must know what they're doing, if this has already happened. I don't know why the dr does the IUI for me the next day after the surge. I guess 24-48 hours is close enough? Your dr. seems more on top of things than mine anyway.
alihoff - My dr is in Stony Brook, which is closer for me (I live in Selden) than Melville, but if you get pregnant first, I'm outta there! LOL! I wish I had more of a connection to the place, but I just don't feel like it matters anymore. Whoever has the trick!!
eclarky - I hope that you get pregnant on your own! You'd put them all to shame then, wouldn't you?? :) Either way, two months off is not that long, so you can come back full steam in Sept if you have to. Enjoy your summer off! :)
So, I just got back from my u/s and boy am I glad I did not call them!!! I had 2 eggs again this month, naturally!!! I asked my RE why I had 2 eggs again this month and he didn't know why, he said "very lucky". The big one measured 20...should have asked him what the other one measured.
I asked him how long this usually takes and he said usually within 3 or 4 IUI's is the norm. I asked him what happens if it doesn't happen within that time frame? he said after 4 unsucessful IUI's he would do a laproscopy?? A procedure where they go through my belly button with a camera?!? That sounds painful and something I do not want to experience, has anyone had this done? Do you have to be put to sleep?
I also have been drinking that raspberry leaf tea since my AF came (I figured it couldn't hurt)...my RE said my lining looked great this month, LOL!! The controversial raspberry tea worked!! I'll stop drinking after my IUI's, just to be safe :-)
Hi,
I am happy that everything is looking nice this month.I wish and pray that this is ur month and u dn't have to go through Laproscopy but even if u have to dn't worry.I had mine in Jan this year. They put u to sleep and when u get up its the pain u have to deal with for few days but they will give u pain killers for that.
For me first 2 days were difficult but everyone is different so dn't worry.
Best wishes for this cycle.
After much thinking last night -- I have decided to take a break from the meds. SInce there is so much going on in there already I am already thinking this month would be a washout doing the inj with IUI. So maybe (wishful thinking) since I am thinking its not gonna happen this month will be my month au naturale. LOL
Hi! I will give you all a quick history...I had a chemical pregnancy in April 07 and have been trying to conceive ever since. We have had all of the tests done and both my husband and I are fine! Unexplained infertility. We tried doing ovulation testing for about 4 months...nothing. Then we did our first round of iui w/ 50 mg of clomid and 2 others like this...nothing. Now I am seeing a fertility specialist and he had me do the clomid challenge test which is 100mg of clomid and iui. I only had ever gotten 1 good egg on 50 mg but this time I had 2 possibly 3 eggs measuring at 26mm. My lining was a 10.4 which is awesome. Here is where the story gets funny...Day of iui arrives and dh misses cup a bit and a smidgen of sample ended up on the floor. My dh's numbers are usually phenomenal..instead of our usual 30-100million we had only 5 million with 75% motile. FRUSTRATING! It figures the only month I had 2 eggs. Anyway I am waiting util the 15th to test! Hoping for a miracle. Has anyone ever heard about a successful iui with low sperm numbers?
Hi,
Yep, that's right AF came and packed a punch ;)
Thanks for checking in! Yes, August it will be. I'm feeling better about skipping July (Not that I had a choice really, since I'll be away on business) but I'll start at a new clinic in August that seems smaller and more personal. I hope it will be the right move. PEASE let me know how you do this Summer and when you begin yout monitoring for August ok?Take care ;)
Jenny 872 ~ Thanks. I too am hoping that this cycle works and I don't have to go through laparoscopy, especially since I have never had an operation or been put to sleep. The reason for laparoscopy is he thinks I may have silent endometriosis :-( I'm staying positive that this is my month!!!
bellahope ~ Welcome and I am in the 2ww with you. I got my IUI done today and will have my second on Saturday. I'm really hoping this will be the month!!
well i just did as i was told. they saw 3 good sized follies on the right side on cd10 so they said to trigger that nite and come in on cd12 for the iui. maybe since the cycle before we might have been a day too late? they triggered me in the office on cd14 and they said they saw fluid and i may have already ovulated. if i dont succeed after the 3rd iui my doctor said he will do a laparscopy to see if the endo is preventing implantation. i feel like i am almost at my lowest saddest state in all of this. 4 of my friend (2 who i see at work) are pregnant and i feel like i cant hide. no there can relate to how i feel since they have never m/c or had problems ttc. i just feel so broken. mabe since i have always dreamed about being pregnant and a mom that i somehow have jinxed myself. i just put my trust and hopes and dreams in these doctors/nurses and maybe they have no frakin' clue as to what they are doing. what if they are way off and this is all a waste.
i have had 2 laps already in the last 14yrs and you are put to sleep. the worst is the gas and fluid they put in you to move the organs to see the reproductive stuff and you feel like you are having a heart attack cuz the gas is leaving your body and its painful. and the stomache is real sore and i had to slide to my knees from bed to get up . within a week its a lot better. i am truely starting to believe that its the endo. i had been on bcp from 95-jan.07 to treat endo and stopped to ttc. we conceived in march 07 and m/c in april 07. i am truely starting to believe that i got pregnant so fast was that the bcp was keeping the endo under control and now i have been off it ever since the m/c over a year now and i think the endo is back and the longer the endo has to cause a problem. i almost want to just get it done now and not do the 3rd iui.i just want an answer as to why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we can try again and do the same process aftertwo cycles. for now, we need to rest and wait to the right time to start all over again. sorry for my bad news. just an update.
Kikayinla, I am very sorry for all that you went through and are going through now. I hope things turn around completely for you.

God bless all of you!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong!
I'm gonna do some reasearch on it and see what I can find.
to all,
thank you very much for your support and prayers. i read a lot of stories of having miscarriages and it cannot really be avoided. even the wife of my OB-GYN had 2 miscarriages.
God bless all of us! hang in there!
lolagirl212 - Yeah, I'm in NY too.
It's gross but I'm all over it ;)
JENNY909 - You and I are a day apart..keep me posted on how it's all going for you! :)
I'm good a little spotting and very very little cramping, only crampy when I go to the bathroom...much better than last month's IUI :-)
Thanks for listening to me work out my thoughts!!
I haven't been on this board for a little while. You and I were on the exact same cycle last month. I won't be doing my IUI's until the end of this week but read that you just did yours. Is your cycle shorter this month?
I am from Toronto but never heard of that clinic. Did your current doctor turn you off? If you don't mind me asking, what is his/her name?
I know, we were on the same cycle, but YES this month AF came at 25 days which is very early. I'm normally 27-28 days like clockwork. My RE asked if I was under a lot of stress last month (uuuhh YEA!) so that wis probably why. I also think I ovulate earlier than I had originally thought. So at day 12 in my cycle was the 1st IUI. Today I had my 2nd at day 13. So you are due to go in Thurs or Fri? Will you be doing a single IUI or 2 back to back?
Good luck.
Linda
Today I was real sad again b/c it is official now, my levels dropped almost 50% and therefore I miscarried.
It's not that I didn't know already but there is some extra power in that official piece. Holding out for July now. I am wondering if I should try two IUIs as well. It's going to be my third IUI and I would just love to think that the third is charmed and maybe a little extra help wouldn't hurt. God bless all of you!
I'm too busy lost in my book to think about it :-) Hang in there...it's 1 more week.
bibi22, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Im new to this community .TTC for 5 years. This is my 5th IUI and im in the 2ww period too.....
Good luck to all who will be testing this week. Fingers crossed for everyone.
kramik107 - Welcome to you as well!
I hope things work out for you this month.
I am going for my first IUI tomorrow afternoon and then for my second insemination on Thursday.
Good luck on your 2ww. Think positive thoughts, relax and don't stress!
Linda
Will your dr do a preg test or you tesing on your own?
Good luck to you and I hope that all that badness from today turns into a BFP 2 weeks from now. :)
Not to sound like a polyanna, but I have gotten beaten down so many times inthis whole thing, and being a single with no partner to go to for support has been very hard and a challenge..I just know that no matter how insane it can all get, you just have to get back up there and deal y'know? It's all going to work out ;)
My last IUI I had that pinching 10 minute disater to get the catheter in...dr. said that my cervix was not open, so he had to use several different catheter's until he found the one that would fit...not pleasant at all, so I feel for you. I also had a lot of spotting after that, so don't be alarmed if that happens. (guess from all the poking and prying, gross)
Hopefully it will all be worth it :-) (((((((( Super Sticky Baby Dust ))))))))
Michelle, I think she had to use something to dilate my cervix a little and yes, I've already had to joys of spotting and probably will continue to! Ugh. They talked about doing the trigger after, but since I'm getting the +opk they thought it probably wasn't necessary. I might be regretting that decision in 2 weeks, but hopefully not!
He'll come in handy later I'm sure, but right now he's no use to me!! ;)
Regarding the possibility of multiples -- my friend has six kids from two pregnancies on injections. So as we all know, it is possible when you use them!! :)
Wishing that someone would get a BFP this month!
I have also looked into adoption but I am not ready to go down that road either. It is very complicated and confusing process.
I'm still around just saving for my 4th IUI. I really hope yours works this month. Is there a great incresase in getting your BFP if you have 2 IUIs back to back?
I hope so!!
I'm not sure if you would still have follies or ovulate, but I'm wondering if you had the HSG test? This is the test that sees if your tubes are blocked. Do you think you might have this problem?? Get the test!
No, I've never had the HSG test...is it painful? I'm scared. Would you still get AF if your tubes are blocked?
Michelle - I am so sorry AF arrived today.
Linda
Thanks - Angie
lolagirl, I'm totally feeling the same as you this month!
I was told I'm going to have to have my tubes checked next month if I'm not pregnant this month. I'm scared too - someone told me (a friend of mine) that it was very painful.
lindaintoronto,
I am at the Newlife clinic in Brampton.
Back to the dr on Tuesday I guess. Time to start again. I really don't get it -- I had THREE follies this month! I thought for sure I would get pregnant. How the hell many do I need???
eclarky - How do you feel today?
THANKS!!!
((((BABYDUST TO ALL))))
Good luck testing tomorrow, lolagirl!! Hope you get a BFP!
Good luck to all testing soon!! Its time for some godd baby news!!!
Took the stick test this morning and it as a no go. I'm HOPING it was too early to test at 11dpiui but have a feeling the negative is what it is. Ugh.. oh well. Bummed out, but there is always July! ;)
Lolagirl212 - ;-( sorry about your BFN--keep strong for the next try...
Matty1972 - Thanks! I'm HOPING it was too early to test..I feel AF symptoms coming on like gangbusters so we will see. Will keep you posted in the next few days ;)
lolagirl212- don't give up yet!
LOL!!
I know a few of you will be testing in the coming days, good luck!!
eclarky - That i SO nice that your Husband is taking you away.
Sorry you got a BFN yesterday. I could be joining you with your next cycle in August. I hope we manage to get a BFP that month!
Take care of youself and don't work too hard on your business trip.
Best wishes.
How are you doing?
How come you triggered so early? Do you have short cycles? Or your follies were just ready to go?
Good luck to all still waiting to test -- fingers are crossed for everyone.
Take care of yourself.
alihoff -- I see you live in Northport. Where are you going for your treatments?
Liv4Baby - In your eyes, I may not be "young enough" as you put it, but I believe I can still get somewhere eventually. There are lots of ladies on here who might be older, but we all have the same hope and are trying with the same passion to make it happen. Please try to be a bit more sensitive to that.
alihoff - I see Dr.
Michelle - What time tomorrow?
I have been doing those ovulating strips just to make sure the IUI would be timed right (even thought the dr, told me not to do that)...but anyway, the strips have been testing positive yesterday and today. Does that mean tomorrow will be perfect for the IUI? How about by Saturday, too late? should I cancel the IUI on Saturday or it's worth the extra chance?
You are way too addicted to peeing on sticks if your testing with the opk even when they tell you not to! LOL!
It worked for me... the cysts were gone after one month.
Good luck!!! Just something else we have to go thru.
PEASE let me know how you do this Summer and when you begin yout monitoring for August ok?Take care ;)
bellahope ~ Welcome and I am in the 2ww with you. I got my IUI done today and will have my second on Saturday. I'm really hoping this will be the month!!
Anyone else in the 2ww??
