how soon can I get a quantitative blood test?

by ALT76, Jun 26, 2007 12:00AM
I'm thinking of going tomorrow (actually today - it's 1am now) for my quantitative blood test.  I will be at 14dpo and expecting AF the following day.  Is it too soon?  Since it's quantitative and they detect any level of HCG in the blood, wouldn't it be OK?  I have off of work tomorrow, and either way I'd rather be home when I get the news.  I SWEAR I'm pregnant - always thought it other times but not like this.  This time I feel like I know for sure.  So if it's a BFN I'll be devastated (even more that before), and I don't want to have to wait til Weds when I'm at work to find out (I'm a waitress so it'll suck having to wait on people afterwards, and there's no way I could hold out til the end of the day to listen to my messages!)  Plus, if it's a BFP I'll be too busy talking to my mom and sisters to work!  What do you guys think?  Is it too soon?  Could one day make that much difference?

You'd be fine tomorrow. Hcg starts producing upon implant. It is detectable shortly after in the blood.

I say go ahead and go in...  The blood tests can be taken pretty early and at 14 dpo your hcg should be plenty high enough..

Good luck.. I'm hoping the best for you..

I go in to see my RE tomorrow..  I'm hoping for some really good news... the last thing I wanna hear again is, it is positive BUT..... I just want to hear CONGRATULATONS....
