I have been trying to concieve for 8 month but still i m not pregnant. is that possible if u have normalNormal saline flush and regularRegular insulin period and even then u r not ovulating?? and wat kind of tests should i have.i never have any tests related to fertility .
It took me 11 months to conceive w/ regularRegular insulin periods and ovulation. Some people just take longer than others. If you chart your temps, you should be able to see that you're ovulating. Some tests they do are HSG(checks uterus and tubes) and bloodwork on hormones.
i've had normalNormal saline flush periods as well and I know I ovulate but we can never get pg (tried for a few years). We eventually went to a RE and he did some tests. I had endo and scarring on top of male issues. I wished we never waited this long to get tested.
Infertility is defined as no conception after a 12 mos period of timed/planned intercourse(under the age of 35). It is definitely possible to have regular periods and not o. Have you tried any home tests, like opks to see if you get Lh surges? The 1st place (cheapest and easiest) to start is to have your gynocologist do a day 21 progesterone. It will show by your level if o has occured. If not, you have a starting point. All it is, is a blood test.
If you have a gut feeling that something is not right, take a month to do what tina suggested and make sure you are ovulating and go ahead and get a sperm analysis done on your husband/boyfriend. I did not wait a year and I am sure glad b/c my husband ended up having severe male factor. Sperm Analysis is a fairly inexpensive and uninvasive test in the realm of infertility treatments/testing and it allows you to rule that out b/f they get into the invasive female testing. Again it could just be that it is taking a little longer. But I know it is tough, when you want to get pregnant and can't it is so frustrating.
After 12+ months of ttc with regular periods and ovulation we finally saw a specialist. Turned out I needed a lap. My biggest regret: not seeing a specialist sooner. Blood work, HSG and semen analysis would be the first steps.
Good luck!
Although some folks say it takes 6-12 months to get pg. You can either wait out the year or see a RE..and make sure to get your hubby tested as well...not all infertility issues are caused by the woman...
Good luck!
