Hi Tracy, what my RE told me is that because of our PCOS we become insulin resistant.. & being IR causes all those lovely side effects (weight gain, anovulation, facial hair) so in order to control the symptoms you need to control your insulin levels.. 1. By taking your metformin, 2. Controling what you eat (no bad carbs or sugar) and when you do this, it helps lessen the side effects of metformin & 3. Exercise!
Once you start doing those 3 I promise you start feeling better... I lost 7lbs in one week (&honestly didn't hit the gym that hard) you can even start getting periods on your own and after stablizing your insulin levels for awhile I'm sure the facial hair will lessen too!! I know it's hard... But so worth it in the end! Also the met helps reduce the risk of miscarriage once you do conceive!

Hope this helps!
