Hi there,
I was dx in October with a mullerian anomoly (uterine abnormality). I had several m/c's and went to see a RE. First thing he did was order a saline ultrsound which confirmed that I had a septated uterus. Basically, there is a band of tissue that comes down from the top of my uterus. He speculates that my embryos were attaching to the septum (which is avascular--doesn't have good blood flow) and then they would m/c due to lack of nourishment. I had a very, very simple surgery to fix this problem and now we are ttc. If you have a septum in your uterus, you chance of m/c can be 80-90%. However, after the surgery, your chances of m/c drop to the level of a normal person. I don't know if you have this or not, but just wanted to let you know my experience. It is a treatable condition. I encourage you to not drive yourself crazy until you know something (I know that is so much easier to say than do)! However, if you do find out you have a "wacky" uterus, there is a great group on Yahoo with women just like us with tons of wonderful support and success stories.
I wish you all the best. I know how scary and frustrating this can be. I am so glad that you have taken the steps to go to a specialist. They will figure out whats going on. I'll be thinking about you and I will say a prayer.
I have had several miscarriages (I also get pg very easy) and I don't know what an HSG is but the doctor injected dye in to my uterus and did an x-ray. He was checking for the septum thing, which he was pretty sure I didn't have because I have 2 kids already, anyway I didn't have the septum and the test really didn't tell me a whole lot. I am very frustrated because I know I can conceive and have babies because I have two. My husband and I both feel we should have one more but I keep having all these unexplained miscarriages. Anyway, I hope you have better luck. Just know that the HSG may not tell you as much as you want it to.
