Yes...i sure have.  My sister-in-law only has one tube that's open and she just called us a few days ago to share her news of getting a BFP!  I think sometimes with only one tube, ttc may take a little longer.  I think her and her hubby had been trying for about a year, which i guess is about the avergae for most people.  So, yes, it is definitely possible,

I don't know anyone with only one tube, but my mom had only one ovary (thereby rendering the tube usless, actually it was removed as well) and she got pregnant 4 times in 5 years. There are three of us (one was an m/c).  So yep it is possible.  Also contrary to popular belief you don't always ovulate from different sides each month so it may not take as long as you think.  Good Luck.

I lost my right tube back in Feb, so I have been asking this same question.  There are two woman at my work who have had childeren with just one tube and neither one of them had much trouble getting pg.

I went to RE this morning for u/s.  I have two mature follicles on my right ovary (the side without the tube).  I'm still going forward with my IUI on Tuesday.  RE says my chances are still good.  In about two weeks, we'll know more.

Best of luck to you.

I have been trying to conceive for two years and in March I decided to do an HSG and found out that my right tube was completely blocked. But after trying for so long adn in April I got my BFP..So I just think that with us with only one good tube its just takes longer....Good Luck and lots of Baby dust!!!

This post was good to read as I am in the same boat, I have heard of many people getting pregnant with only one tube so I am hoping my one tube being blocked won't be too much of an issue for me.

But what I found interesting was the post that says that you don't always ovulate from one side and then the other, is it possible to ovulate on the same side one month after the other ?

I should probably post this as a new post since I think it is something many of us need to know.

Tanker Chic,

I too, am like you. I had good follies on my right side, the side WITHOUT the tube.

My RE did two IUIs a few weeks ago, back to back (one on thursday and another on Friday), and then I went on the journey of the TWW.

But the IUIs didn't work. I ended up getting spotting on 10dpIUI and then full on bleeding (sorry for TMI) on 11dpIUI for the following six days.

Clumps were coming out and I was filling a super tampon ALONG WITH a super maxi pad in a matter of an hour and having to change it both out along with underwear each hour!  ::UGH::

I'm switching RE's because I just think that my RE isn't doing it where I am at...at their clinic.

Because I only have the 1 good tube, (on the left), everytime I go into the RE's office, I feel like all they want from me is $$$$$. They keep on pushing me to do IVF, as though, I don't have a change in hell to get a BFP by doing IUIs.

I'm moving my chart over to Stanford, once I get the welcome back from them in the mail.

But well, I just wanted to share that with you all. It's good to hear that there are women out there who can get pregnant with JUST ONE TUBE! It really gives me hope!

My RE at Fertility Physicians of Nortern California is just basically only out for collecting $$$$ on me and treats me more like a damn ticket rather than a patient who's going through Unexplained Infertility.

Sorry to vent, but I'm just really pissed at them!

I have only one tube and according to my Doctor, due to the
blockage she does not feel that I will be able to naturally conceive.

Has anyone, or someone they know ever been told this and
still naturally conceived?

Any success story would be appreciated.

My husband and I have gone almost 5 years unprotected and
have onloy been pregnant one time.  It was ectopic and that is
when I lost my other tube.  Just looking for some hope.

I had a blockage in both tubes due to fibroids, and the doctor told me that I would never conceive. I now have 15 year old, but I recently lost one of my tubes in 2006 after a ectopic pregancy, i have been trying for about a year to get pregant and Im getting impatient, but I'm not giving up, because I had a classmate in medical school that had a baby with just one good tube and being told that she would never be able to have a child. I'm stay n Prayer about the whole thing and I'm going to keep my faith and beliving that it will happen soon.Good Luck 2 everyone trying to conceive.

MEMEMEM! lol. I can say that I am currently pregnant with one blocked tube.

by kikicoates78, Sep 08, 2008 02:54PM
MEEEE TOOOOO! I have only my left tube and overy. I have tried for years (5) and we just got our BFP! NATURALLY at that!  The tube and overy that I do have is surrounded by sccar tissue from previous surgeries, thats what has made it so difficult.
If you have a healthy tube with a healthy overy, you still have good chances of conceiving!

I lost a tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. I was told my other tube looked healthy, but not too expect to get pregnant before at least a year of trying. I felt hopeless for a while thinking I would never get pregnant if we decided to try again, but sure enough, I got pregnant the first month we tried to conceive! There is hope! I delivered a beautiful baby girl. I think the more you stress, the more you decrease your chances of pregnancy, no matter how many tubes you have!
We are trying for another pregnancy right now. We have been trying for 3 months, and no luck so far, but I know it will happen when the time is right.
Good luck to all of you trying with only one tube. Have faith, relax, and enjoy the "practice"!

I just wanted to let you all know... those who just want some hope in their efforts.  About 4 years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured and I lost one of my tubes amking the ovary useless.  2 years later I got pregnant naturally (unfortunately I m/c that one) and here now 2 years later I just found out that I am pregnant again.. 6 weeks right now and keeping my fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy.  Hope this helps anyone who was curious about getting pregnant with just one tube.

I had a tubal reversal in 4/09 and he could only fix one tube:( But I still have a good chance! I know of mmay woman who got pregnant after a tubal reversal and had only one tube fixed. One lady had on 1.5cm of tube fixed and he had to tug to fix it! She got pregnant her first time trying. Sometimes they can remove the other ovary so you O on the good side each month. You ovaries do take turns O'ing and it is not always back and forth. One can go for one or two months before the other one O's. One tube is all you need!:)
