progesterone

by positive.baby, Jul 18, 2007 10:03PM
Are my progesterone levels sufficient to sustain a twin or greater pregnancy?

I underwent a donor cycle, transfer was on day 3.  4 embryos transfered. On day 10 post transfer my HCG was 50 and progesterone was 21. On day 12 my Hcg was 141. On day 17 post-transfer my HCG was 1,441 BUT my Progesterone was only 42.

We really want twins. I was wondering if my porgesterone is too low to support multiples.

HELP !

I was not told my progesterone levels, but I think as long as they are above 12 it's good, not sure if it has to be higher for multiples......

On the other hand, your HCG levels sound high......it sounds like you may have multiples......I started with twins, but unfortunately one did not make it......my day 14 post transfer HCG was 258, and my day 17 was 586......so to me your numbers are really good........I don't want to get your hopes up, but they do seem good to me..........

Best of luck to you!!

according to www.fertilityplus.org, Progesterone should be 20 at 4 weeks and 40 at 14 weeks.  Your levels sound good, but I'm not sure if Progesterone is any indicator of multiples?  Good Luck!
